This little amp is not a joke. I highly recommend to anyone who looks for a mobile solution. Volume is more than enough for practicing, tone is really good, it is visually satisfying and very lightweight.
No question. Some days I miss having it handy when I just want to plug in where I happen to be rather than at my Hartke amp or my desk. I'm really not seeing much else out there (on Amazon) that is comparable for less.
I’m a lifetime pro working bass player I have this exact little amp and love it, it’s a great great portable practice amp that sounds great for its intended purpose. When I’m practicing or learning songs for gigs I just pop this little amp on my computer table and it works great, with or without headphones being used. I bought it new a few months ago on Amazon for around $50 and couldn’t be happier with the purchase. On a side note my gigging amps are all Hartke gear with 4 and 5 string bass’s. As a lifelong pro player this is one of the best most convenient practice amps I’ve ever purchased, I always use the clean sound and never use the overdrive.
It’s a great practice amp. Not loud, no low bass, so no vibrating the walls and the neighbours. Put the amp close to you, a P bass with little distortion (or more) will sound great. A clean bass will have nice midlows. An active bass sound ok too. Use it too with my acoustic bass, at least I can be heard next to a dreadnaught. Guitars will tend to sound a bit jazzy, warm if you like. You can play guitar or bass via a multi-effect that you plug in aux. Or just play backing stuff on aux. Got a cheap ukelele strap to connect to the two sidescrews. Got mine new for €32, a year ago. Enjoy that thing! For more noise with different bands and rehearsals I use a markbass, a swr and an old fender 100W anyway.
Thanks for the review! I've just ordered this since it's half the price of an amplug here in the other side of the globe. Just started out and I need something cheap while saving up for a nicer one
I've got one of these, it's plenty loud for practicing, the trick is raising the gain, if you have it low, doesn't matter where you set the volume it will sound quiet. I recommend it if you're looking for a easy little practice amp. You do have to use batteries though if you want to avoid nasty hissing.
’ve got an Ashdown Tourbus 10w bass amp. Excellent for practice and for small venues. Better made than most others. It is ideal for my U-Bass and handles the bass frequencies well. Mains powered rather than battery and performs well
I was hoping you'd discuss the type of wireless devices that are compatable to this. What do you have plugged into your bass, and also what did you plug into the top of the amp?
With the understanding that I don't have the amp anymore, it was useful for home practice for those times I "just" wanted to hear the bass tones without headphones or using my Hartke amp. Hello from Florida USA!
It's possible... but they make a guitar version that should have a wider dynamic range. Much depends on why you'd want an amp that puts out a few watts more than most on-board speakers (for those keyboards that have them).
That's not really how a DI works, a DI is to plug into a mixer or PA aka the thing the mics usually goes into. You need an amp to play through a speaker.
Hey man! this video is about a year ago but Im hoping u still reply. I got the JOYO MA-10A, the acoustic version. I cant get any sound from my guitar into the amp speakers. Was hoping youd have some input, since I imagine these two amps to be similar enough
@@mysideoftheroom1576 ive got a breedlove, acoustic-electric hybrid. after fooling around a bit I managed to make it work, i genuinely thought my amp was broken for the first bit

Great video man. I appreciate you not cutting the product any slack, makes me trust the review more. I see you are using a wireless cable but does it come with cables? If so do they suck? If not do you have any cheap recommendations?
@@latenight5865 I actually bought the fly 3 before any replies. You were right on , if you like distortion it is a great little amp. The clean tone is disappointing and not worth the money. Would this be suitable for busking. My friend needs a battery-powered lightweight amp for playing bass on the street. It doesn't need a ton of volume, but some oomf is nevertheless needed.
An issue I have with your assessment: you used rechargeable batteries. The voltage on most rechargeable batteries is 1.2 volts rather than the 1.5 of alkaline batteries. If you’re using NiCd or NiMH batteries, the amp will be seriously underpowered because it will be trying to operate at 7.2V instead of 9V. Also, the above batteries have lower power density, and so can’t put out the same current as alkaline. That would seem to be the problem with your volume output. Other reviewers using a 9V power supply or alkaline batteries don’t report the same problems with volume you’re having.
Interesting. I'll try the power cord tonight or tomorrow and see if it makes an appreciable difference. However, I don't consider the lower volume of the amp to be a "problem" in an apartment. If I want to shake the building, I've got the Hartke.
Update: I used the power cord and a passive bass, and... no appreciable difference in the volume level vs with (rechargeable) batteries. Not that 10W should shake an arena anyway, but just checking.

I use a Getaria wireless system. Check my video list for more details about it.
In case you're asking if this amp has built in Bluetooth, it doesn't.
€39 new on Thomann. I'm going to buy it along with a U-Bass, because it's so portable
Great video.
So, do you recomend it for practice?
Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭

Hello from Florida USA!
I have this one but I think it sounds better with battery than power plug, I don't know why
For How long would the batteries work? I would like to have one of these to play my acoustic bass on outdoor gigs alongside other acoustic instruments
Honestly, I have no idea. I don't have the amp anymore. It's generally good practice to bring extra batteries just in case.
A post about a mini bass amp in which the amp is actually played..???

hello! nice video. can you use this amp for keyboard as well?
It's possible... but they make a guitar version that should have a wider dynamic range. Much depends on why you'd want an amp that puts out a few watts more than most on-board speakers (for those keyboards that have them).
Hi, do you have cheap ( same price range as this mini amp ) recommendations for speaker that I could use to play my bass through a di pedal ?

I bought it used so it only came with a power cord. Amazon has loads of cheap cables, I don't have any specific recommendations there, sorry!
Would you hear the bass if you were to jam outside with one or two accoustic instruments?
Theoretically, yes. (I don't have the amp anymore, but other people who do have used it outside and liked it.)
What are you using to connect your bass wireless? How much and how well it works?? Would you recommend it?
In this video I'm using the 2.4 Ghz set from Getaria. I gave since upgraded to the 5.8 Ghz set (same company). No complaints after upgrading!
How does it sound opposed to the Blackstar fly 3 ,6watt stack?
I have no idea, but it’s 4 watts more than you’re describing, so there’s that.
From my own experience, JOYO is louder with more bass-like sounds than fly3, which looks way better.
