Why do local sports commentators always complain about the negativity of Minnesota fans? We are negative for a reason. Continued mediocrity and choke jobs from Minnesota teams. Now it is fair to say we weren't favorites going into this series, but fans are frustrated with how things played out. Just a handful of teams have won a series after losing the first two games at home. That's why the reaction is here we go again. Denver basically spotted the Wolves the first 2 games and we still couldn't take advantage and we are losing in a way that rarely happens.

judd is right, i mean how can you have confidence after losing the homestand and getting man-handled the way we have, all that with the context of being a minnesota sports fan, it's not wrong for fans to feel like the team has lost all momentum. i don't think a series loss here necessarily means A TON for the future of this team going forward but it's still a very disappointing outcome

This franchise is cursed though. Got KG leaving and winning a chip the next season, basically putting Minnesota back in the ice age. Got Klove and Rubio both got major injuries before they both could even play significant minutes together, Rubio tearing his ACL his rookie year and Love apparently punching something and breaking his hand. Then both would eventually leave, Love winning a ring the next season with Lebron, and Rubio going to the post season with a rookie Donovan Mitchell 😂 Got Wiggins, who was mid but again another dude from Minnesota who eventually won a ring after leaving. This franchise is cursed. I hope to god they find success quickly because Ant is going to have a lot of suitors soon.
1. These last 2 games were NOT fights. Denver basically had the Wolves at arm's length by the middle of the 3rd quarter.
2. Losing to the best team in the NBA still means that YOU AREN'T TITLE READY. If this was more of a fight than I'd maybe believe that.
3. With the uncertainties of this team, we don't know if we'll get back to this level any point soon. Our GM has an opt out. We likely have to trade either KAT or Gobert to maintain cap compliance. We don't even know who'll even own the team next year.
Simply put, Phil, the only relief I see is if the Wolves can sneak their way into a Game 7 thus giving the home crowd a decent win at home to close out the season.
It's a 20% chance for a team to advance after the opposing team wins game 5 in the playoffs. That stat mixed with the lack of desperation displayed for the last 2 games does not give me a lot of faith. I'll watch game 6 with pride like I have for every single game this season.. but I'm ready for the Ant, Jaden, NAW, Naz rebuild

Judd is spot on. The stars on NBA teams steal games all the time. Problem is the Wolves had nobody help ANT in game 4 and thus they werent able to take a 3-1 lead where then you just give it up to Jokic in Game 5 for stealing one for them. Jokic did 35 in Game 4 and Gordon came along for the ride. ANT did 44 points and the closest two were Conley and KAT at 15 and 13 points.
Phil, when you have a 4 time DPOY first ballot HOF, a unicorn best 3 point shooting big man in the league, and a six man of the year, a superstar in ANT, and a great defensive players in NAW and Jaden McDaniels, there isn’t any excuse for them not showing up 3 games in a row and looking depleted and giving up. Naz Reid played Jokic better than gobert did that’s an issue. Also when your the number 1 defense in the league and the one seed for 85% of the year there is 0 excuse for how they have been playing the last 3 games so i dont blame the fans for how they feel

One thing that I think has been lost on a lot of people is that before this series everyone was saying this series determines who wins the NBA Finals. That sentiment was 100% true and is still true. The two best teams in the NBA are going up against each other right now in the second round, and if the Nuggets didn't blow game 81 to the Spurs, this would've been the Western Conference Finals matchup.

The wolves problem, where do I start? KAT has low bball IQ, most of the time he has small guys guarding him. Instead of taking his time, he rushes and bails out the defense. Look at how Jokic takes his time. KAT emotionally is immature, look how Jokic baits him into those stupid fouls miles asway from the basket. Also he plays for fouls insted of just playing basketball, which rubs off on Ant. Look at game 4, Ant was complaining, but whe he decided to just play ball he went off. Also with Another thing with Ant is they need to get him the ball in the post, preferebly on the same side as a shooter. So one he can get the ball closer to the basket, and two the double teams will be a less effective. As opposed to him handling the ball at three point and they can double to get it out of is hands. Also everyone's shtting on Rudy, however Jokic dominates everyone: see the lakers series a round before. One thing Rudy can do defesively from time to time, is when he feels Jokic has commited to posting him up. He can pull the chair out, which Jokic has done to him atleast twice, which led to Rudy T/O's. Also if you'll notice if Rudy sets a screen and then dives to the basket he'll always get a quality shot. You saw that twice in last nights game. One more thing on KAT or could be coaching, they should run some high low action with him and Rudy. We saw it on the alley he caught from KAT. I mean they need to pull Duncan tape when he played with Robinson.

The problem with the fans is it's a bunch of queens and twins fans that have had expectations for years and been let down. Wolves fans who have just perked up when the playoffs started. This is great for a 22 year old strap in we have 6 more years at least of this and hopefully a LOB or 2 in there

This series has never been a fight. The first two Minnesota was beating the crap out of Denver. After that, the Nuggets made adjustments, and Jokic figured out the Wolves defense. Since then Denver's been beating the crap out of the wolves. Not one game in this series has been in doubt after the first half. They just exchanged one-sided beat downs.

The Timberwolves have been given the kid gloves by every sports person in this state because they have sucked for their entire existence. Just making it to the second round of the playoffs is something to be celebrated as this team has only made it there twice in their history including this year. The Vikings, Twins, and Wild are treated differently because they have a history of good regular seasons and then falling apart in the playoffs. The Twins for the past 20 years were also treated differently because they hadn't won a playoff game in 18 straight attempts, so ending the streak was more important than winning a title.
Judd is 100% right. Calling games 4&5 a “fight” is interesting. Wolves have not given fans/anyone confidence with how games have played out. Never felt like they had a chance in any of the last 3 games. You cannot brag and boast about this team for 4 months then when they lose 3 in a row in uncompetitive fashion and expect everyone to be ok with it.

The hardest part of being a Timberwolves fan is being a part of this toxic and pessimistic fanbase. We have the best season in 20 years and everyone is ready to sell the ship after a hard fought game. We have a transcendent player in ANT. And also, HELLO. In game 4 it wasn't just Jokic , they shot close to 60 from the field! You guys sound like Buffalo sports fans though, two fan bases with lots of sports PTSD. My Bills had practice squad linebackers, and second string DBs, in the playoffs against the Chiefs last season. Despite that they were a dropped touchdown pass from winning and a missed FG from tying the game. But the narrative is that the team choked and can't beat the Chiefs in the playoffs. One of the linebackers had been on the couch 3 weeks before the game. Against Mahomes and Kelce 🤦🏽♀️ had no chance with those injuries
Gobert was fine in game 5. Kat was a problem. Kat watched Naz Reid get called for a charge. He watched Jaden get called for a charge. Kat thought to himself "No way they call 3 charges this close together" and decided to barrel into the defense.

They could have won Game 5 and nobody helped an "Unstoppable ANT". Malone said the 2022-23 dysfunctional Wolves were the biggest challenge for a much better eventual Champion Nuggets team. This team is far better and the Nuggets dont have nearly the depth and yet the Wolves have choked away 3 games after taking a 2-0 lead on the road.
