Add a slightly longer hose to the cold air out opening. Also add another smaller fan at the end of the hose so you can direct the cold air a bit easier. The extra fan helps the cold air move through the tube much better than just the one fan at least.

Another great video. A little sad to see the run down part of town. But that is what keeps things real and makes a person grateful for what we have. Thank you for showing the bad with the good. They are the poor people that are truly Barely Squeekin' By! Stay safe on your adventure as always.. Your channel is going to grow and grow.

Yes it is sad to see the poor areas where the people are less fortunate, but those are the people who are enriched with family and love, more so than most. It wouldn’t be proper to only show the beauty, besides that’s not what we are here for. We are here for the culture, the people, the food and the real experience. We hope you are right about our channel we love connecting with people all over the world 🙏🏻 ❤

Glad you found your way to some cooler elevation! That bridge looked pretty amazing -- almost out of place for where it is. I would have wanted to stop there for awhile just to cool down if it's safe. Lot of those roads looked quite decent too.
Can't wait to see more of Mascota...
    Cheers!...from North Vancouver
PS -- I spent $3K getting the AC in my "new to me" 2012 Sorento fixed because I'm very much like AuBrey that way, and have never had AC in a vehicle before -- wasn't going to road trip long term without it. Don't feel so bad about that now...

Things are looking up for the barely squeakin’ by crew. Higher elevations plus sporadic rainstorms equals cooler temperatures 🎉😍 plus we got the back up AC cooler for those hot days in between. A properly functioning air-conditioning is definitely nice to have in your vehicle when traveling. The upgrade will serve you well. Cheers Adrian 🇲🇽

As a teenager with my first car that had no AC, I decided to make one. As far as I can see my iinitial design was probably like yours, air blowing across ice. When I found it somewhat lacking in performance I embarked on making improvements to my new invention. I utilized a pump to push the ice cooled water in the bottom of the cooler through a salvage heater core which was mounted on the wall of the cooler where a hole had been cut to fit it. The result was much cooler air (still not as much as a car AC), but nice while it was blowing on you. The downside was it melted ice way too fast. I couldn't afford to run it.

    • @BarelySqueakinBy

Ice is definitely going to get costly with this set up but anything‘s worth it to keep my wife happy even if it does only last for four hours.

Try adding a few blocks of ice, then add water to where it’s near three quarters full and mix in a cup of salt. (This will create colder air in the ice chest and also you can use an ice chest that is a little smaller so it doesn’t take up too much space) Also have a small fan next to where the cold air releases so it can circulate that cold air. Also make sure you put your windshield cover up to block the hot sun rays from entering the front side of your RV. I have watch a few videos that have shown those steps can keep you cooler in a small space. 🥵😎 🧊👍🏻

Thanks for the advice Cody. We are usually pretty good about blocking the windows in our van that does make a difference. It’s a little harder to find blocks of ice in Mexico but we are looking. Adding a second fan is a great idea thank you 🙏🏻

just like a house try to keep the sun out ,close blinds, curtains anything you can, the a/c won't have to work so hard. Glad to her you are planning to recycle the water. Did you open the reflectix some for the video or do you normally leave windows uncovered?? If parked put up sheets outside on both side attached to the top(magnets, binder clips any kind of help to hold them down) leave air space but keep the sun off, anchor on bottom with rocks or any weight you can, any shade you can give yourselves helps.

AC part,. Its a quality of life thing and a must. I think money would be well spent buying a dependable one that works for what you do. Also,, I can tell something was bothering Jason in the first part explaining the ac. Its a arguing month for couples.. We are all victims too it. Brush it off and continue on. Take nothing personal. LadyGator's name fits her during these times. lol Hi Aubrey. lol Its hot here in FL. And the boat biz is keeping me busy with folks rushing to have boats in the water for the holiday. Company from SC arrives today and airboat is acting pretty strong.. So its going to be an interesting week here.

Hey Gator happy Sunday! AC is key in these southern latitudes. We didn’t realize how crucial until we got here. Now we are just Barely Squeakin By with a homemade unit. I think in the beginning of the video I had realistic expectations on the outcome of our swamp cooler, and I saw that AuBrey was slightly disappointed with its performance, which made me sad. AuBrey is a lot like a kid in the sense that she thought it was gonna cool down the whole van with all the windows and doors shut 😂 Enjoy your company from SC and stay safe this coming holiday weekend 🙏🏻

Recently portable ac or tent ac units have been spawning,250w less than 6kw every 24hrs, much cheaper than the 2600$ Eco flow ac. I am waiting till the portables sells at the local store with an exchange policy. Good bet most of them won't work long.

Happy Sunday folks , yeah that'd be a real drag if your postcards don't make it across the border. I'm sorry to hear your AC didn't work . Someone once commented to Thomas Edison he was a failure , his response was " They weren't failures , I just discovered multiple ways it doesn't work " there are two parts to every sacrifice. The pain of giving up what you love, and what's waiting for you on the other side. ( Sidenote , Aubrey commented on the " wobbly tires " on the dump truck. Those weren't the tires , that was the axle bent ! 😂... Until next time , be safe & enjoy your journey. And thanks for allowing us poor sinners to tag along . ❤

Kinda torn here, on one hand Aubrey would be way cooler if she took her hat off as they hold in a lot of heat, on the other hand the hat is from one of my favorite places, Jasper Alberta, so I like the reppin portion of it!!! The one thing I've learned in my travels through Mexico is as you drive through those neighborhoods that are torn up and run down is that the people that live there don't care about their possessions or the look of their homes they only care about each other and I think the world would be a much better place if we all took a little of those family values along with us!!! Stay safe, have fun, and keep on truckin, or in your case, VANNIN!!!
