I got fitted by Titleist in Oklahoma once. They had sent a semi truck and trailer to Edmonton for the U.S Senior open about a week and a half before the actual event. For two days they gave people a chance to get fitted. Irons, hybrids, FW woods, driver wedges, putter and even the type of ball for differing conditions you may face. Those clubs changed the game of golf for me personally. I went from 200-yard drives to 260 carries. I went with 6.0 rifle shafts even though I gave up a couple yards overall when my dispersion tightened up into a very small circle. I ended up with forged muscle backs and got an incredible penetrating ball flight. The rifle shafts have differing kick points (where on the shaft that the bending starts at). With shorter clubs where the speeds being generated are lower, a lowered kick point resulted in a lower trajectory with a lot more spin. But with my long irons where the kick point was moved higher, I started hitting towering shots with a 2, 3, and my 4 irons. Prior to this, I had a lot of trouble getting the ball up so to take advantage of the ball speed. Meaning a lot of loss of carrying distance. I usually hit a 3,4, and 5 iron almost the same distances. Suddenly I experienced variances of about 12-15 yards between clubs. I went from about 189 yards with a 3 iron to almost 210 carries. And I could hit a two iron into the air consistently for the first time. My FW woods I decreased the shaft length an inch, and my dispersion rate tightened up an incredible amount. My driver, I dropped down to a softer shaft and started hitting towering draws because I felt I could swing easier and get more snap at the bottom of my swing. That day changed the feel for me, the reliability become more intense, and my self-confidence I was experiencing was exciting to say the least. Over time I have gone from a 14 handicap to now having a 2.9. It changed my golfing life, to be frank. It didn't change my swing so much as it showed me that what I had was useful, long enough and I didn't need to always be looking for that magic move. When they shortened my putter length and got me more over the ball, it allowed me to let the loft of the putter to elevate the ball to start the roll. You have to put a gun to my head to ever take that putter away from me. Once I learned not to pop at long putts, I started getting more and more one-putts, and fewer three-putts. Learning how to utilize the bounce on select shots, that gave me some of the elusive short game I have always lacked. I am better, certainly, but I am still not quite there. But I hover around a 2-3 cap now. and I truly believe that getting fitted properly was my real start of playing golf. Even after having flailed away for close to 10 years prior. If and when I consider new clubs, a proper fitting into any new components will be the only way I would ever again consider buying any set of sticks.
This is why I love golf. People are delusional about their game. In order to go from 200 yard drives to 260 carries you would have to increase your clubhead speed by 33 MPH. NOT HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!
the best part of trying a club is being confident in your swing. when you know your swing well you can hit almost any club (unless it’s something out of this world)
Done my Titleist full bag clubfitting today and was amazed and surprised by the result I got out of it, looking forward to receive my new set and, play with them and improve my game the coming year👍🏻
I also think it depends from day to day. Some days I hit a MB 4 iron like nothing and the other day when my tempo is not ok I couldn't hit a AP3 Pitch straight. As long you don't play every day like a pro you will have ups and downs and it all depends on your physical and mental state. So I have my doubts on club fitting on 1 day (2 hours).
New guy here and loved the video. Marco and Mike were right. You've got some great material and this vid rocks. Equipment is still out of my reach tho. I wish the industry would accept the fact we all can't afford a set of clubs for a stack. Thanks guys.
Thanks guys I went out and bought the Titleist T 300s because of you and your videos on the Titleist T series I appreciate a lot I absolutely love them and wouldn’t even consider them before even though I have the U5 10 two iron which I love
Waited for the Ap3’s to come out my self a real game changer 3-pw titleist really blew out the competition with that set glad you guys had a great time really enjoy the videos
I’ve kinda been a Taylor made “fanboy” you could say for some time now used almost nothing but Taylor made clubs for a number of years but I’ve recently been testing titleist irons, rescues, fairways and drivers pretty much like you guys did in this video and HOLY CRAP I’ve noticed a major difference in my game using titleist clubs non fitted over many other brands without being fitted. I can only imagine how I will play once I have the money for a whole bag fitting. Great vid guys just subscribed as well👍
Stefan Merk thanks for subscribing 🙏🏼 . The clubs are amazing but the fitting is the absolute game changer! Definitely get fitted if you get the opportunity. It’s worth it!
kind of a paradox. You get your swing to a point that it is still inconsistent because the clubs your swinging are working against you, so to make them work you have to compensate in the swing which will lead to even more headache.
A club that is too light, or too heavy will make it very difficult for a new or learning player to develop a consistent stroke. Better players will argue that fitting is only marginally beneficial, but for a hacker ill fitted equipment can make a huge difference on the score card.
Just got fitted the first time ever and I'm going to start taking lessons when the clubs come in. The Fitter / Coach I'm working with explained it like this to me. The golf swing and equipment discussion isn't the chicken or the egg, it's the chicken AND the egg. I'll see I've got a set of Mizuno Hot Metal irons coming and he is replacing all the shafts on my driver and fairway clubs.
@Liquid bend Hate to say it but i can send tiger out with old wilson irons and he can shoot par how you ask? Because hes good if you suck "club fitting" isn't making your swing better period. This is the biggest waste of money for mid handicap players and weekend warriors.
frank ur swing is getting better and better! didn't know "true" fitting sessions made such a difference. all i did was the 20 minute roger dunn experience lol. i too game all titleist clubs. play with the cbs. maybe i shoulda at least tried the ap3 too!
Talking about yardage gains with ap3 vs ap2 - there is a 3 degree difference between them, so an ap3 7 iron is only one 1 degree weaker than an ap2 6 iron. It's great for looking down at the number 7 on the club and thinking, holy shit, I'm hitting this miles, but in actual fact you're hitting a 6 iron. Buy a set of ap3's with a 43 degree PW and you've just got to add a second gap wedge in there at around 48 degrees. I honestly can't believe people are still falling for these cranked lofts. How are the lofts not something this fitter is even talking about!? Going on about the 5-7 yards more distance with the ap3 over the ap2 being a such a positive when you're essentially comparing a 6 iron to a 7 iron. Fitters lose all credibility when they do shit like this.
I’m definitely wanting to begin saving for a club fitting and new clubs once I get a job when I turn 16 (currently 15) should I wait until I am totally done growing before I get a fitting and also should I get lessons before I get a fitting so that when I get a fitting my swing fits my clubs or get a fitting then lessons because it’s hard to have a good swing when you’re trying to compensate for your 1996 Callaway big Bertha irons
I tried the AP3 a few days ago. I compared them to the TaylorMade P 790 irons and I like the AP3 better. I am getting fitted next week to tweak teh AP3.
There are local golf courses everywhere that will do full fortunes at little or no cost. You could easily get fit for under $50. I actually just got fitted a couple weeks ago
I had a fitting for Mizuno and ended up with KBS 130x shafts after being fit at another place for R-flex shafts. I played the R-flex clubs for about a year and really struggled. I ended up with the JPX 900 Hot Metals and boy it was night and day difference. Make sure you get a fitter that is willing to spend some time getting it right the first time. Now I'm ready to do a driver fitting. The driver is usually not the club that causes me to many lost strokes as I am a fairway finder of about 250-265 yds pretty routinely.
Looks like a lot of fun.I’m going get fitted Monday wish we had a place like that in Baton Rouge,we just have Edwin Watts.I going for the AP3s as well.
I realize that this is 3 years old now, however I noticed where you had highlighted where the phrase "Lower the launch, raise the spin for more distance" The comment he made was in reference to a particular shot. not to all shots. you don't want low, late risers that have a sharp decent trajectory. That won't optimize distance. You must have hit up on an iron shot which I believe I had heard you say you hit up on everything in the putter fitting video. Sometimes hitting up enables bombs. With irons, it's short balloon shots. Out drive a guy 30 yards then hit the same iron in kinda balloon jobs.
Great video! I really appreciate the info. By chance what’s the price range for a full set fitting with a pro like Kevin? If you could just give a price range, it doesn’t have to be exact. It’s good to get a idea of what someone will spend. Love your videos, thank you for always keeping it interesting.
Been playing AP2 for quite a few years now, gamed 714 and 716's. When I tried the AP3 my first impression was game improvement. It didn't look awful by the ball... but it didn't look 'right' either. It is still FAR from a players iron in terms of appearance and shape in my opinion. AP2 is already pushing it with a thicker top line and longer blade length, my 714 CB set was probably the best looking set I have ever owned, although I ended up playing the AP2 because it fit my gaps better in the longer irons to middle irons due to forgiveness and loft (I play a 2 iron driving iron, no 3 iron, 4 and down, which let me drop my hybrid ---i hate those things--- and add a wedge. with CB I needed the 3 iron). The AP3 was also a bit of a let down in that long iron players are left out entirely. All in all, I honestly think they are over hyped, and aimed at the upper middle handicapper and club hacker. Over priced too, better off getting a set of CB or Ap2, this fitter was just splitting hairs and clearly biased towards the AP3, not finding the best club.
Tony Desouza According to the fitter Titleist usually delivers clubs in about 7 days. They ship from their factory in California. Hope to have them out on the course soon!
He missed the sweet spot on the AP2. But the AP3 has a much larger sweet spot. As titleist states, AP2 is for Tour hehe. But yes I think we all like the AP2 because we dream to be able to be at its level.
I think even more important than your swing and game is the affect on your body. Constant bad swings due to bad clubs leads to bad body rotation and twisting. Compounded over years leads to back and hip problems. That golfers hunch. Something fitted to you alleviates that stress from improper fitment. You wouldn't wear shoes 2.5 sizes to big or to small. It's the same thing. Get fitted to play longer and more comfortable.
The only problem I have with your fitting is that you restricted yourself to just Titleist clubs. I have played Mizuno blades for years (last set was MP 69) but getting a TrackMan fitting, trying multiple clubs from Mizuno, Titleist, TaylorMade, Callaway, etc. quickly narrowed to two that felt and performed the best, the AP2s and TM P770. After testing various shaft combos, ultimately it was the P770s with Recoil ES SW 780 F4 shafts.
On a standard lofted 7 iron, 10 degrees is not crazy. 10-12 is about normal. Given these are 4-5 degrees STRONG, that isn't even abnormal. It's lofted like your standard 6 iron.
Lol, I kinda was when I was younger. Just find it hard to believe that the "proper" swing allows for so much delofting because why can't you just have a 7 iron that has 21 degrees of loft then?
we should golf sometime in rockford Illinois my name is moses davis my handicap is mid 80s I golf at my club member tourney in two weeks ⛳️ I hope to get a chance to Meet you guys sometime that's what I'm doing this summer
To be fair, unless he was reading total spin, instead of back spin... that's probably the best you're gonna get with what looked to be a big cut. Numbers are probably more consistant with what you're saying, it he hit straight to a draw. Cus that would be a major oversight otherwise.
I'd be curious to see how much it lowers your handicap over the course of the season compared to your old clubs. I would be willing to bet spending that money on lessons would be cheaper and probably have a greater impact on scores. Like the fitter was saying the better you are the less a fitting will generally have on your game. But even so a 30 handicap player isn't going to be made a 20 hcp or less from a fitting. Yes fitting can help and you should especially if you are extremely tall or short but that said if you put a shit swing on the ball you're going to get a shit result.
I went to the local flee market and got fitted for some clubs for $20. I walked out of there with a full set and didnt need to take out a loan!!!!!!!😂😂😂
If you enjoyed this video make sure to watch our T-Series fitting next ➡️ruclips.net/video/jUm7EUgr0XE/видео.html
I love how their divots are so neat and orderly. Mine knock the earth out of orbit and look like a diamond mine expedition in South America.

Brother Cousin thousands!

it can be simply by having a better smash factor with a perfect dynamic loft with around 2k spin idiot
Do they fit shirts too?

Watched this, went for a fitting. Hit AP1, 2 & 3. Now have a full set of AP3s on there way. Loved them!
I'm going to be excited to wake up for the full bag fitting I've been saving up in the new year.

The swing is the most important thing regargless what custom clubs you have. Bad Swing = Bag Golf Game
This is exactly why I'm spending as little money as possible on decent clubs so I can get out on the driving range or at a local par 3.
kind of a paradox. You get your swing to a point that it is still inconsistent because the clubs your swinging are working against you, so to make them work you have to compensate in the swing which will lead to even more headache.

I looked at this comment and said look at that
well would ya.....

yes its important to contain all the gears you need in a golf bag. Thats why you have to buy well featured golf bags.
I don’t know why but I continually watch ur club fitting video with Kevin, I just wish that I had the opportunity to do this here in Ohio.
Would ya look at that! "Mike" is actually Ed Bassmasster
I love the guy at 4:08 like, "dum dee dum dum puttin on sunscreen...oh crap."
I have a split Titleist set myself. AP3 718 4-6, AP2 718 7-P and AP2 718 50 degree. Men’s clubs, stiff shaft.
Looked an awesome day Boys. ⛳️👍🏻🏌🏻
The science behind golf is so fascinating. If only they had this info in like 20s.
I am getting a fitting tomorrow morning. Finally.
I tried the AP3 a few days ago. I compared them to the TaylorMade P 790 irons and I like the AP3 better. I am getting fitted next week to tweak teh AP3.

Bros... I just got a set of CB’s. Couldn’t be happier. Titleist is the shizz
Yes! Enjoy the new sticks!
Awesome video. Would love to get a fitting like this one day

Excellent video guys. I’m scheduling my fitting the first of the month, thanks for talking me into it.
Thanks Robert Graffis enjoy the fitting!
Just checking this out. Great video and really enjoyed the process. Thanks again for doing this. I really took a lot away from it.Cheers
Here we are, Mike didn't sleep last night, let's go!
This is my dream!!! it will never happen but I can still dream..
also went for the hzrdus yellow! long straight bombs ever since
Is that Ed bassmaster!??
You guys are my favorite golf channel. Immediate sub. Keep it up. I also learned the hybrid because frank did and I let go of the 3 iron
Harrison Gifford thanks! How you liking the hybrid?
Golficity pretty good still getting used to it but when I played today it was a great feel
Man those clubs look awesome.
I LOVE Titleist!!!
Now I feel like I got a 50 cent fitting at Golf Galaxy this year!
So the big question, how much does it cost (average) for this type of fitting??
$150 Canadian in Vancouver for Taylormade.
How much did this how fitting cost you guys??
I think you meant to say: HOW MUCH DID TITLEIST PAY THEM!! 😎
@@RollYourRock i highly doubt titleist needed their exposure
Does anyone know how much a fitting like this costs??? I'm going to buy AP3's but I want to get fitted first?? Thank you in advance
Free long as you are purchasing clubs
What proportion of the improvement is down to the equipment tweaks and how much is down to being "dialled in" after a few dozen swings?
Did someone forget to wear his FJ shirt!?!?!?😃
When Do you guys get your beautiful new sets? Super pumped to see if there’s noticeable scoring differences. Congrats my dudes
Tony Desouza According to the fitter Titleist usually delivers clubs in about 7 days. They ship from their factory in California. Hope to have them out on the course soon!
8:02 "they always had astigmatism as a players club". I think they make glasses to fix that.
After watching this I can confidently say I still suck at golf
how much does something like this cost???
He missed the sweet spot on the AP2. But the AP3 has a much larger sweet spot. As titleist states, AP2 is for Tour hehe. But yes I think we all like the AP2 because we dream to be able to be at its level.
What was the cost for fitting and clubs if ya don’t mind me asking
So is there swing weights adjuestment added per club to make sure they are all the same? or does it just fit automaticaly ?
Dudes....how much was it, for each set? Thanks so much and loving your videos!
After testing various shaft combos, ultimately it was the P770s with Recoil ES SW 780 F4 shafts.
what does it mean when something is "players club" or "players glove"? does that mean more for the lower handicap player?
L Follzz yessir
So... Do you tip a club fitter?
Do you tip the guy who sells a car?? Nah
20-21 degrees of dynamic loft? Is that right? that means that you need to have 10+ degrees of forward shaft lean which is INSANE
On a standard lofted 7 iron, 10 degrees is not crazy. 10-12 is about normal. Given these are 4-5 degrees STRONG, that isn't even abnormal. It's lofted like your standard 6 iron.
10 degrees of Shaft lean is not that much lol
I disagree
You're a flippy boy.
Lol, I kinda was when I was younger. Just find it hard to believe that the "proper" swing allows for so much delofting because why can't you just have a 7 iron that has 21 degrees of loft then?
My armspan is significantly shorter than my height so I would be looking at longer clubs?
What was you gapping from the PW to gap? I play ap3 also. Love them but 43 degree PW is tough to gap
we should golf sometime in rockford Illinois my name is moses davis my handicap is mid 80s I golf at my club member tourney in two weeks ⛳️ I hope to get a chance to Meet you guys sometime that's what I'm doing this summer
Good content....wish you tried the t-mb irons also
john sneade I think tm-b irons are too unforgiving for them
How much did it all cost? Full bag fitting and ball fitting
How much was this fitting that u guys tried? Do u get to keep the clubs that were best for u?
great info guys. subscribed.
Just subscribe to the channel!!!!! Can’t wait to watch you guys!!!!
Thanks Eric!
I need a t-series fitting love to win that driver!!😁

Did he say 3600 spin on a dude swinging 115? That is through the roof.. Should be 2k-2800 depending on his launch angles.
To be fair, unless he was reading total spin, instead of back spin... that's probably the best you're gonna get with what looked to be a big cut. Numbers are probably more consistant with what you're saying, it he hit straight to a draw. Cus that would be a major oversight otherwise.
How much did the club fitting cost?
Today i hit my 7 iron with a carry of 160 and a distance of 184. Im 13.... it was also straight as hell
Ze Leopard Fox impressive! 👏🏻

Great video. Subscribed. Forgive me if I missed it in the threads below, but what SM7 wedges (loft, grind, and bounce) did you both decide on?
Disregard.....just saw and viewed the "MASSIVE Titleist Full Bag Unboxing" video. Thanks, again!
Aww so cute a couple of midgets trying to upgrade to real golf from mini golf. Keep it up little guys you will get there soon!
Thanks man! We're having a blast. And we're sure things will pick up for you soon man. Hang in there, it's all not that bad!
If you don’t mind me asking, Im a junior golfer hoping for fitted clubs, what’s the price range on something like this?
2-3k where im from
$3K for a fitting? Hahahaha!!!! NOOOO..........
Awesome vid! How much does one of these fittings cost? Definitely in the long run it will be worth every penny! No doubt. 👍👍👍
Is it sad that's my everyday alarm!?
Nick B. Alarms are always easier when you have a tee time 😉
What's the price for an appropriate fitting?
Any1 able to tell me how much this type of fitting would cost ????
How much does it cost for a full fitting ?
How much did all this cost? (curious)
Without having all the details, I would say somewhere between "WHAT??!" and "ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW???!" But that's just a ballpark.
@@BamaJohn2239 Prob the cost of a very nice set of clubs... not counting the cost of those clubs LOL...
Well considering the one dude had a maserati in his driveway WAY TO FUCKING MUCH!!!!!!!
