Thanks for the great review. I guess it’s good for the price but I would rather save up for an old Marconi or similar old boat anchor of a signal generator. Looks like they have a problem with quality control. Your still smile your definitely the happiest man on RUclips I would have smashed it again a wall! Good luck with unit number three.
Thanks Chris!.. you are to nice... i am not sure about nr3, if i ever go to the trouble of asking a new unit... they could have make sure i got a good unit but they did not even bother... well i rest mt case... that is why Marconi and R&S are still there... and even if i had a good unit would it compare? well we know the answere dont we?
Great review Tony. I bought one before I watched this video, I must have struck lucky mine works fine. To check frequency input transmitted into tester hold F1 for a few second and the display comes up saying Auto and to go back hold F1 for a few seconds. I hope this helps.
Thanks Kenny!.. yes that helps.. i put that with my notes.. Later i found that is was working, i have a video of that too.. it is just is has a very strong(er) signal on an other frequency too.. and my SA focusted on that one..my mistake using the auto-tune... but still wierd that other strong signal..
Nice Review Tony, i've question? do you resold the pins 2, 3 and 4 on the chip, minute 20:19 on the video? see like desolder or missing sold. At this time i waiting for one, i hope no problems ..
Tony, I think an external oscillator input would be a great option in this signal gen. Nice little generator considering my generators take up half the workbench!
Hi ! just brought one, everything is ok except i cannot input a DCS code in generator mode... It says D423N after i pressed F3 and up/down shows others DCS i don't want... Any idea would be great !
Hi Patrick, i did not play with that, what i do know is that the manual usualy does not match the current device. but you can have a look at my videos there in the description you usualy find the manuals aswell
No i did not, i was dissapointed and lost energy for doing that.. i really wanted to make it work out this time.. pity the quality control is not good... i am sure some devices are good, the idea is nice... i just not have received a good one yet.
Hi Tony,...Nice test bench full of $$ rf test equipment to do product evaluations !! ...So thankful you did both review attempts....I have never seen a a signal Generator design intended to both send & receive rf input power on the same, single rf connector..I will only attempt to use an rf signal generator for a signal Source application..Based on usual awkward worded Chinese product description, I had no idea this --130 to --70 Dbm level output signal generator was also intended to be a Rf power Dummy Load using the same, Single Bnc connector !!.....Single connector, bidirectional rf power application is always Risky to component lifespan.....I only plan to use as a signal source....Don't get your preoccupation interest in it must tolerate > 12.0 Vdc power supply source ?? ...Many rf devices, including ht hand-helds operate on 8 vdc...A simple, common 9 vdc wall-wart plug-in power source works fine...Exceed the advertised vdc supply & Smoke happens ...Assuming 8 --12 vdc means 13.6 volts (or whatever) because it's convenient doesn't always end well. It seems your 2nd review indicates the calibrated, --70 to --130 Dbm rf signal source function works good as advertised ? ....Thx for the reviews & keep up the interesting channel !!
Thank Tom, The RF tester has an internal 50 Ohms / 50 Watts dummyload to do TX testing. All this voltage issues could have been avoided if they just provide a proper adapter with the device. it is not that cheap.
Thx for the prompt response Tony !! How or where did you obtain written operating instructions or instruction manual ?? My unit just arrived in good, unblemished but functional condition (the most important part) But Without any instructions....I've searched & just can't any on-line....Poking it's "F" buttons has the Receive features working good but a source of manufacture instruction manual would be good....Can you share how you obtained instruction sheets ? Thx & you have very helpful channel,...tom.
The trouble is it will not be their design, it will be a design they manufactured under contract for someone else and then just copied, so they have no real idea how it works or what it is supposed to do ...

Hi, well spotted... no i did not touch it, but you have a good point there... thank you. i hope your will be a good one.. enjoy!
Thank u no are a Wavetak so it's a Single fm signal generator Low cost.
Yes its low cost and FM only, in the end it worked, i made a new video later.
Tony, I think an external oscillator input would be a great option in this signal gen. Nice little generator considering my generators take up half the workbench!
i think a nice round bin would be perfect...LOL
@@TonyAlbus Hahahahahahaha :)
Let me understand. So, this new model include: RF generator + Frequency meter, from 500Khz - 470Mhz, Is it?
Yes
Thank you, you helped me to decide to not buy one of these, continue looking for a 2955.
You are Welcome! Glad i could help. some have reported that the generator-only version seems to work. but it is the same blue little box.
Nice review... See you still have the Siglent kit :) :)
Hi Stephen...damn you got me.... and i thought it was the wife who spotted everything:)) ... Yes it stays also :)))

Hello ! Too bad the input function didn't work.
What about the generator function, have you compared the output level with the marconi ?
No i did not, i was dissapointed and lost energy for doing that.. i really wanted to make it work out this time.. pity the quality control is not good... i am sure some devices are good, the idea is nice... i just not have received a good one yet.
What was the polarity on this device ?
positive in de middle, 12 volt is de absolute max, better 10 volt

Hi Tom, i added the documentation that i have found somewhere to the description of the video.
What is the IC inside ? DDS?
I am not sure what is the main controller, i did not make any pictures i think.

Its a pity.. honestly.. the idea is great, i could be something... if the last details were handled...it could be good.
Don't know why my comments are lined out, didn't intend that...
It is okey, i can read it...
Ik houd het toch maar om mijn R&S CMT 52 Tony ;-)
Haha, Ja , tegen een R&S of Marconi kan je slecht tegen op.

Ultrahigh-frequency emitters in the ears are not the most useful invention of mankind. Do you stick your head in the microwave?
Hello, This can be used to Adjust Radio Receivers like Walky Talky or CB. But this is not the best generator.
They are RUBBISH
