hold Rob Manfred and the other owners who approved the pointless move accountable as well.

Manfred and the owners just wanted this nightmare to end. That plan for Howard Terminal started happening a little too late, TBH.

It's bad for baseball how Fisher has abused the A's franchise and moving them out of Oakland.
There were decades of record growth in the Bay Area and finding a solution to build a new stadium in the current market was and still is possible. Fisher and his ownership group lacked the will.

I've been an A's fan for most of my life. Ofcourse, I'm sad they left. There are may questions left unanswered from John Fisher. Will I still root for the A's? I don't know. I really dislike John Fisher. How can you still support a team who has a terrible owner and has no connection with the fans. Other owners interract with fans and show up to team events. This guy never showed his face. I'm sad and don't know what I will do after this season is over....

After the Chargers moved out of San Diego a lot of us gave up on the NFL altogether because all the owners & commissioner are Dean Spanos’ accomplices. If you do want to keep watching baseball, the friar faithful welcome A’s refugees with open arms because we know how it feels to lose a team

John Fisher bought the County’s half of the Coliseum property. And never thought once to build on the most logical place in the East Bay. It is all on A’s ownership.

Like Mets fans wouldn't morph into Yankees fans if they were relocated OAKLAND A's fans will not morph into SF Giants fans. Especially when they couldn't even vote no on relocation in good faith. We gave them the territorial rights to the South Bay & the Fisher saved the Giants but would never return the favor when we needed it other than granting them amnesty at Sutter Health Park. With how rhis organization went to GREAT LENGTHS to drag their fans thru the mud I sincerely doubt any significant portion will follow them besides keeping up with the players we love like all the others who got traded or let go before them.

John Fisher wants to play in Sacramento because the Giants/Vivek worked it out so they could play there FREE because they're desperate for MLB which put Oakland at a disadvantage during negotiations because they were asking for a little more than what Fisher was previously paying but still less than market value and John Fisher decided to turn his back on this fan base to crash on Sacramento's couch not just for free but to also pocket more revenue because he is a cheapskate who can afford but apparently can't afford his spherical armadillo in the desert.

I was a fan in attendance yesterday and I talking to folks from AP and offering to speak to them and let them take a picture of my Oakland Forever sign and they told me as media they can't do that. Apparently there are things they aren't allowed to report or capture accurately. So you did get a watered down version of the raw emotion yesterday at the Coliseum.

Thank you for covering this story...I was there and when the 7th hit I lost it 😢 Where else will MLB get such a diverse set of fans? I also go to handful of Giants games right across the Bay, the stands are filled with people on their phones. MLB is already losing inner city kids like the next Ricky Henderson or Bip Roberts...Curt Flood!

When do we put some plan to the state of California and the city of Oakland. there are now no professional teams there anymore. If you were to own a team would you built it in California yet Oakland. was there last year. Horrible so many good memories back in the 80s when it was safe to walk around the city

Fisher left for Sac because he was getting free rent and Oak wanted to charge rent.

MLB fans need to organize and boycott the 2nd game of every MLB franchise’s 1st homestand in 2025 to send a message that public funds/corporate welfare for billionaires will not be tolerated

John Fisher did not murder the A's. MLB voted for the A's to move -- anywhere -- out of Oakland. They didn't have to. They did it because for 30 years the Coliseum was needing upgrades and maintenance from the City and County and got none. If the Coliseum was reasonable or there was an actual plan how on a new stadium they would never have done it. And there was no credible plan. The Mayor herself said the City was short $300+M to make the area around Howard Terminal viable. Fisher is a terrible owner but the reason they were allowed to leave was horrible government decisions over years.

Fisher has billions. He could afford the renovations himself. Also do you bot see how asinine it is to make a city themselves pay for a stadium? The owner himself is supposed to cover that and in turn he the fans and pay it back through attendance/memorabilia etc. Fisher moved the team because he wants to line his pockets even more than they already are.

Kroenke built a stadium on his dime. Fisher could have done so as well.

@@Mykall777and that comment right there is why Oakland doesn't have a team. It's a business not a charity case. You have to contribute also. So the owners pay for their own stadium maintain payroll...insurance...workers salaried and pay for top talent? Nothing is free. Either help with these bills or another City will.

John Fisher absolutely murdered the A's for Oakland. The bottom, bottom, bottom line is that there are buyers willing to stay in Oakland. Mr. Fisher never knew what it was to want anything. Born into immense wealth. He didn't need to do this. He could have sold and made a profit if he felt he couldn't have made it work in Oakland. The city and the A's management were in the final stages of finalizing a deal. In the 9th inning so to speak. And....Mr. Fisher bails out. AND Oakland sold him half of the land at the Coliseum because as Mr. Fisher stated it would be something of a back up in case Howart Terminal didn't work out. Well that was a lie. So yes, Oakland is mess. The politicians suck. Still? This was a move that did not need to happen. I don't want ANY city or area to lose a team if there is someone willing to take the risk and buy the team and keep them there. This is on Fisher...may he rot in hell
