An elvish house by the name of Midoriel was experimenting with alcohol and magic, and one of the things they got was this vibrant green spirit, the production of which can be achieved without the need for magical prowess, just maybe some alchemical know-how and an alchemist's set of tools. Midori, how it was called by humans, ever shortening everything as their lifespan does not allow for much time to say all the long things, was now associated with the color green and available in pretty much every decent tavern in Exandria, including the one improvised on the Isle of Rumblecusp!

Honey is even more perfect because Jester has twice given her mother honey as a gift. I think Laura forgot about having done it before that second time and was simply grabbing an item from her inventory she thought would work, that, or she figured it was apt for Jester to have forgotten. The honey came from an island they docked at once for repairs, someone there kept bees and Jester was charmed. Hello Bees!

You might already know this, but you can tell wether an egg is boiled or raw by spinning it. Boiled ones spin fine, raw ones kinda wobble because of their liquid contens´ inertia. Sure you could label the boiled eggs or keep them separated, but this is also a way to know which is which
Yes! A variation on this test is that if you spin them and gently stop them, boiled ones hold still but raw ones start spinning again because the liquid inside is still moving.
I hope the "bad drinks" include Sam's 'Eldermancy' cocktail he did for an ad just so we can see whether he was telling the truth about it being "not that bad," or if it was tragic.
Gonna be fun to see if Sandkheg's Hide and Eldermancy are in the cursed cocktails one :D (I know the latter one isn't necessarily in-world but it happened on CR so close enough)
2:46 I'm not surprised that you got a lot of info out of these guys... They had a few cocktail tutorial shows they ran, and it was apparently a big part of the cast and crew's workplace culture to have mixed drinks on the set of Talks Machina and Between the Sheets. There were even a few notable incidents, such as Sam Riegel being caught by surprise that the crew gave him "Real Absinthe, you guys" for a comedic bit he did. He just didn't expect the crew to have that on hand, and expected them to give him water with green food coloring in it. Whoops! I loved this episode! Well done! I think it'd be cool if you got invited on as a guest one of these days.
I think it's hilarious that you chose a drink called the "Pearl Diver" to model the Ruby of the Sea after, because there's a really excellent Critical Role animation about Fjord that uses "Pearl Diver" by Mitski as the backing audio. Check it out, it's worth a watch.
You are LITERALLY doing what I do when watching their show. Every time they had drinks pop up in an episode, I'd think about making them for real. Bless.
I cannot physically express how excited I was to see this, literally a mix of two of my favorite things on the internet. Greg you just made my week, thank you!
"There is a Midori sour which is a terrible disco drink." Me, who has a tendency to like extreme flavors, whether they be super sweet, spicy, sour, whatever, and likes the midori sour: "You've broken my heart."
Greg, I know you're a 90s goth child like myself and you've played WoD games before.... you should make Vampire: the Masquerade drinks based off the new resonance systems and thinblood alchemy from V5 (I know blood and wine aren't really great bases for cocktails, but catching the vibes of "Sanguine", "Phlegmatic", "Melancholic", and "Choleric" could be)
Back in the day, I made a few drinks based on Vampire the Masquerade. The Blue Malkavian had Absinthe, blue curacao and something fizzy (maybe sprite) plus a cherry. I remember, due to the fizziness, that the cherry would sink to the bottom, then float to the top, over and over. Next was the Gangrel Grasshopper. Just like a regular Grasshopper. But, use Irish cream instead of milk (this one was really good.) Then I made something called an Antediluvian Blood. Using 20-year-old port wine. I don't remember what else I put in it, but it was awful. This was like 20 years ago, so I don't remember everything.
I'm a huge fan of both CR and HTD (and also from Jersey) and felt like worlds were colliding this episode. I also happened to have all the ingredients for a Chaos Reigns and immediately made one. It was delicious. Thanks Greg! I'm pumped to see the next Cursed Cocktails episode.

Man, I've never clicked on a HTD that quick on my life. I love that you covered some of their drinks from the show, and I think the cast would be ecstatic that you did so, and did well seemingly. Maybe you'll end up as a guest at some point, I would LOVE to see that.

This is my favorite channel on all of RUclips. Your voice is nice to listen to, You teach us how to make beautiful drinks that are fun and delicious, and the old timey music just makes it so relaxing and refreshing, not to mention all the wonderful work your staff does behind the scenes. You are truly an amazing content creator. ❤
The ruby of the sea drink reminds me of a speciality drink at a tiki bar I went to called the pink pearl diver. I assume the name is a reference to… something Marion would be quite good at…
When the cast makes direct references to name brands from "our world" I always like to think of it as kind of like a translation. It's not *exactly* that thing, but rather something extremely similar made in their world using their techniques. Like if I asked for a "coke" I'd get a carbonated beverage with a bitter / sweet flavor, and a little bit of acidity to it. Just helps keep the immersion of a fantasy world a bit better. Plus, they have magic. who's to say you can't use magic to help in production if needed?
I'm surprised they haven't come up with 'The Final Death Ward' yet. I'd say a likely candidate would be: - Everything that's in a Final Ward cocktail - Ice cubes made with holy water If you drink this and you're undead, you die.
I made a modification of your Chaos Reigns by using the juice from Key Limes and rimming a coupe in crushed graham crackers and it came out FANTASTIC. Makes it even more Key Lime pie like.
I am amused you internalized after watching the show that you saying "getting a Critical Roll" was some how a reference to the show, when the concept of a Critical Roll is a pretty standard DND term, its why CR used it as their name. :) That being said....its a delight and I hope the deliberate tagging CR really gives you a boost.
I have been going through the first campaign for the first time this year. I have 10 episodes left in this campaign and I've absolutely loved it. So this was perfectly timed!
I would LOVE it if you were invited as a guest! For sure like a bartender role, but hey man, you do you! I'd just want to see you reference Beau's drink as real drinks
Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyye, it's crazy how I've just recently gotten back into DND just within the last 8 months after almost 10yrs. All because I found out the guys I've known for the last 6-7yrs all used to play. So we all just had to jump back in, glad to see we're not the only ones !! 🤘🏼
We gotta get some Adventure time drinks on the show, i still recommend the "Cool guy" and "Dweeb" drinks, from the card wars episode. The dweeb drink could also easily be on the list of "Cursed cocktails" too lol
Greg: I'm making a drink based on the Ruby of the Sea Also Greg: makes it Jester blue I tease but it's perfectly fitting considering their relationship in the game/Laura's backstory for Jester!
This was really fun to watch! I don't think I could do Chaos Reigns because honeydew and things flavored like it kinda mess with me, but the Ruby of the Sea might be fun to try. Oh, and maybe you know of a non-sweet almond spirit? Most almond liqueurs are sweet, like Amaretto, but I had an idea for something that would benefit from an almond-flavored spirit that isn't "punch you into diabetes" levels of sweet.
Would be interesting to see you take a shot at very presentation-heavy cocktails, maybe pride flags for example? (bisexual juice always looks great from my own experience)
These look great. One aesthetic idea though: I feel for "Chaos Reigns" the dashes of bitters should be left as-is, to make it look like the face of a die as opposed to blended-in. Still use the same combination of drops (ideally pushing it to 6 total for completeness), and if multiple people order them, they could be given out in different number. 1 is one big drop of all six all in the center, 2 is two sets of three drops on opposite edges of the glass, 3 is three sets of two drops in a line across the glass, 4 is two sets of two drops & two single drops in a square, 5 is four single-drops plus one double-drop in a square with the bigger one in the center, and 6 is six single drops in two lines of three.
great video! I challenge you to make the Eldermancy (frpm Sam's ad of C2 E124) into something drinkable. I suppose that will be in the cursed cocktail episode :)
Tried out the Chaos Reigns and dang, yeah that's pretty good! As long as one likes watermelon i would highly recommend it. Don't forget the angostura tho! I did before taking my first sip and man a few drops of bitters really help make it sing, makes a very noticeable difference.

As did I, Critical Role just seems to be unavoidable. Amazon is even producing a new series
Hope you'll enjoy the ride😄
I’m hosting a watch party for the C3 premiere and these will be perfect frosty beverage offerings! Thanks man!!
I'd say this is the best crossover, but it's only the second best! Cursed drinks will be the best!
*Malort will remember this*
Sandkeg has to be one of the bad ones
I'd say a likely candidate would be:
- Everything that's in a Final Ward cocktail
- Ice cubes made with holy water
If you drink this and you're undead, you die.
I made a modification of your Chaos Reigns by using the juice from Key Limes and rimming a coupe in crushed graham crackers and it came out FANTASTIC. Makes it even more Key Lime pie like.
can't believe he didn't wave his hands to the giant dongers in the sky, as he shouted ''CHAOS CREW!!''
Ruby of the Sea - A salted rim is a nice addition! Thanks for the video and recipes!
Those look great and delicious! Now try the eldermancy cocktail, hopefully in part 2. Might kill you, might not. But it’d be an experience!!
I am LITERALLY listening to this episode right now.
"Pearls are gems, but not stones." (ie. not a gemstone, but still a gem)
No. You are a gem.
So excited to hear you address those recent dice rolls of yours online!!
Your breakdown of these drinks are REALLY on point, super lore driven.
Honestly, a colab HAS to be in the future!!!
And, maybe a little meta, do it IN character??
The crossover I didn't know I wanted and am really glad it happened! Let Chaos Reign!!!!!! May the Travler bless you with only the greatest of pranks.
I love CR, and seeing these joke drinks being turned into actual drinks is awesome. I also can't wait to see the bad ones too.
I hope he does the Eldermancy
Admittedly the bad drinks were always supposed to be bad. XD
I can't even begin to describe how much I love that you did this
Omg this is awesome someone needs to share this with the Critical Role cast
Be the change you want to see in the world
I already did! :P
Good sir I hope you know how much you have filled my soul today
Im looking forward to "Cursed Cocktails of Exandria" AKA "anything Sam has come up with as a gag"
Happy to see you in Exandria, too!
I am amused you internalized after watching the show that you saying "getting a Critical Roll" was some how a reference to the show, when the concept of a Critical Roll is a pretty standard DND term, its why CR used it as their name. :)
That being said....its a delight and I hope the deliberate tagging CR really gives you a boost.
I have been going through the first campaign for the first time this year. I have 10 episodes left in this campaign and I've absolutely loved it. So this was perfectly timed!
I would LOVE it if you were invited as a guest!
For sure like a bartender role, but hey man, you do you! I'd just want to see you reference Beau's drink as real drinks
yaaay! thank you! im about to watch, but i sure hope you made that crazy drink sam did for that one ad once
Hey, when are we getting a “The Thing” themed drink? It is getting close to Halloween afterall
J&B scotch served in a petri dish with a dog hair garnish.
Ha! Flaming as well
I'm SO EXCITED for this episode, I didn't even know it was a possibility and yet here it is
Okay the cursed drinks episode sounds like it's gonna be epic, I can't wait
THIS IS MY DREAM CROSSOVER
CR and HTD are literally my two favourite shows of all time
Petition for Greg to guest star in campaign 3 pls
Just have him on a oneshot where they have to get ingredients for a drink and along the way, greg makes drinks based on the encounters they face
@@grennysohail yesss like the bartender from undeadwood
Amazing. Can’t wait to dig into more of your creations across all kinds of mixology
yes
Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyye, it's crazy how I've just recently gotten back into DND just within the last 8 months after almost 10yrs.
All because I found out the guys I've known for the last 6-7yrs all used to play. So we all just had to jump back in, glad to see we're not the only ones !! 🤘🏼
We gotta get some Adventure time drinks on the show, i still recommend the "Cool guy" and "Dweeb" drinks, from the card wars episode. The dweeb drink could also easily be on the list of "Cursed cocktails" too lol
Yes! Fantastic idea!
OMG IM SO GLAD YOU DID THIS
Greg: I'm making a drink based on the Ruby of the Sea
Also Greg: makes it Jester blue
I tease but it's perfectly fitting considering their relationship in the game/Laura's backstory for Jester!
I think the idea is that the blue drink is “the sea” and the cherry is “the ruby”. I doubt that it being Jester colored was intentional.
Disappointed you didn’t do the terrible “mix everything like you’re 12 at Taco Bell” drink Sam did in his advertisement.
Also as a add, I missed he’s doing a cursed drink episode lol
@@acg1189 sandkheg, sandkheg, sandkheg...
THIS IS SO FUCKING SICK! The fact you made a video on Critical role- I am in heaven.
Hahaha I can imagine Greg," we need to capitalize on the Twitch leak" "well I make drinks so how about I start there."
I shot these over a month ago
@@howtodrink of course brother all jests are good hearted fun. I will say I hope that helps with the Algorithm Gods either way.
Watching this now, with another bar episode in campaign 3 with Asharis breezers, wish there were another episode.
Would be interesting to see you take a shot at very presentation-heavy cocktails, maybe pride flags for example? (bisexual juice always looks great from my own experience)
That Malort bottle is the most nail-biting cliffhanger since Best Of Both Worlds
1 is one big drop of all six all in the center, 2 is two sets of three drops on opposite edges of the glass, 3 is three sets of two drops in a line across the glass, 4 is two sets of two drops & two single drops in a square, 5 is four single-drops plus one double-drop in a square with the bigger one in the center, and 6 is six single drops in two lines of three.
the ruby is EXACTLY the color of a baja blast. im in love
great video!
