Just discovered you guys and am having so much fun catching up! You guys make me feel vindicated. I've always said that if you separate out the cheesiness of the TV show and the fact that the band was contrived, The Monkees records were as good as if not better than anything else out there at the time so rock on!
You know, you guys are ragged as fuck. No smooth, flawless performances from you guys. You're a garage rock cover band and I love you guys a little more every time I see and hear a new video you post. Fuck the perfectionists. Gimme some ragged-ass rock 'n' roll. Are you guys in BC? I get the impression you're in BC. I'm in BC.
@@MarkBaker56 well, you should know that the Raiders did it first, so some choreography would be nice. ;) They liked to do that side-to-side-in -unison thing.
@@DHudelson if my memory of Where the Action Is and Action 67 is correct they also wore tights, knee high boots and three corner hats in a theme of revolutionary war garb. They were also thin and in their twenties so let’s try to keep things in perspective. We prefer to put our limited energies and focus to making the music as good as we can. We’ll leave the choreography to bands of a higher pay grade.
Thank you! It couldn't be more live! I think you have made this comment before on another one of our videos. This is what happens when great players are prepared. This is a once-a-year gig with lifelong friends getting together for this one day. We only play these songs all together the day before and never again after the show. If you noticed the band is made up of 10 guys who rotate in and out for each song. I'm the drummer and I do the recording. 16 tracks, all mikes on stage are their own channel. We also have most of the amps going direct to the recording device, so it eliminates the bleed on those instruments. That's why the recording sounds so good! I have to laugh at the thought of playing 30 songs live and then doing an "overdub" of everything later. Yikes! It took me long enough just to mix the audio (16 trks) and make the videos (6 cameras). C'mon PJ, you did make this comment before on our Journey medley. Did you forget? I don't want to insult you, but I feel your comment is insulting to the band.
Men... really cool this work. Kind regards from Argentina ❤

Nicely played all 'round,... and nice mix too.
I’d say this is one of the monkees best song, if not IS
This was always a badass song, badder than what the Monkees are given credit for. As usual, you guys pumped in new steroids and crushed it.

Really enjoying the "Neighborhood Picnic Band" series. Where does this magic take place?
The Northwest suburbs of Chicago on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend! Glad you're enjoying the videos!
These guys are great, where are you guys from.
Thanks, Mark! We're from the Northwest suburbs of Chicago.
Scott could sing a great version of Wild Thing and Dirty Water. He has that young punk voice, lol
Thanks Anthony
@@sejrec56 👍
Mountain doing monkees.
Can you picture Leslie West in a red double breasted shirt? Tee hee
Another fine job. This is even better than the Monkees cover of Paul Revere & the Raiders.
Best cover Band ever ! Greetings from Hamburg - Germany. Is this Lady who perform White Rabit so perfect still part of the band ?
Unfortunately, she lives in California now. She really owned those tunes!
The old man with the Parker is the coolest man in the band, no?
The drummer is pretty cool too, but I'm biased....😉
@@neighborhoodpicnic2022hahahaha!
Paul Revere and the Raiders
We have Hungry amongst the songs from 2013 also if you are a Raiders fan.
It's good to have a young drummer. Lol. No, seriously....nice cover.

Thanks Mo. warts and all is our approach. That is why we don’t spend time on wardrobe and choreography. Tee hee.
In answer to where we are. We are all originally from NE Illinois and now gather once a year from around the U.S.

It just sounds too good to be live. Has to be a Studio Dub over?
