( just kidding 🤭). Hope everyone has a Goodnight, and gets enough sleep ☺🙏❤🫠. I really appreciate Sir Edge for these great stories !
Good evening, Lynn 🇨🇦. I'm so thankful for the cooler temperatures, finally . My crabbing season is soon coming to a close. It will be mostly maintenance type work now until the end of March before the new season begins. 2024 begins my 17 th yr with my seafood company . Before I was an automotive mechanic 😉
@@docholliday1970 I’m hoping your long work service with your company might allow some vacation time, and you could eventually plan a trip to your dream place in Arizona. I know that Covid has set many people’s dreams back, but one day I hope you will get to make it. I was lucky, as I had a chance to live for short periods of time in 4 different countries. Unless one is fabulously rich, and I am not anywhere in that category, it’s not all that it’s cracked up to be : the moving, packing up, giving birth in two different countries, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t change a thing, I loved the friendships I made! Having done that however, it is something better to do more quickly, rather than much later - not because of the people, but because these places are suffering the changes of time. So many people have had “bucket lists”, and ran out of time or money. I know you will absolutely love your trip whenever you get to make it! I wish I was independently wealth because nothing would make me happier than to grant people their wishes. Take care, and never lose sight of your goals! And congratulations for your 17 years of work ! My husband was a Locomotive Engineer for 34 yrs and. 7 months. On what was not supposed to be the end of his career did, because of a bad set of railway tracks that had been reported as needing work - but they didn’t. So, on what did become his last trip, he drove the passenger train from Toronto to Montreal. Near the end of the trip, he had to go over the still to be repaired track. The track buckled, threw him up out of his seat - where his head had made a whalloping hit on the top of the engine’s ceiling, and dropped him very hard back down in his seat. He couldn’t finish the last r of the trip. The secondary engineer had to take over, and two men helped carry him to a seat inside the car behind the engine cab.The jolt had compressed the discs in his neck and upper back, and he was told his career had just ended - just a few months from 35 yr service, and his pension. He was told by the surgeon he would never be able to work that job again. He waited 9 excruciating months in pain while waiting for surgery, and during that time, he could barely walk, and was in constant severe pain. He had his surgery and worked really hard with physio.for the next two years. They had to insert a number of rods and pins, titanium, and his back was fused. You wouldn’t know that today meeting him - he worked his physio no matter what. Sorry I went on so long, just wanted you to know that things might get in the way as we try to accomplish our goals in life, but one can succeed if one wants. I will keep you in my prayers and hope everything works out for your continued health! Thank you for being such a gracious host, and responding so nicely to people !🙏❤🫠
