I appreciate greatly this kind of video showing the dangers of such maneuver. I’m not criticizing at all, actually this shows that the whole operation must be carried with more precautions. Thank you so much for posting this 👍🏻. Most people only show how to do it but it’s important to also address the possible problems. Thanks again from Mexico! 🇲🇽
That blue tank is maybe large enough for a 15kw unit for a short time. You do not want the water boiling like that. With the water boiling like shown the plates can not stay 100% in contact with the water. The water is being blown away from the plates due to the boiling. Boiling allows air pockets Resulting in the fluctuating amperage. Salt is not necessary if the tank is large enough. I did 2 such load bank jobs in a fresh water river. Never remove the plates until the breaker is opened. The separation of the plates needs to be much greater - we separated our plates about 16”. Whoever was in charge should be fired - very dangerous setup.
I appreciate your review. But the salt here is used to Check the load on instant. The mistake here happened was. While we were not available our 1 engineer put salt on the Backalite. And that salt didn’t dissolved. You might hai seen dropping salt many times. That’s because we have changed water and added fresh water again. My motive here of uploading video was. In india this technique is used since 1990s. I want to teach our brothers that these kind of accidents can take place. Thank you 😊
That drum is way too small for the kind of power being dissipated. Way too much salt too. Boiling that hard will further concentrate the salt causing a runaway condition. Essentially that’s what happened when they pulled the electrodes out. Very salty water dripping off close spaced electrodes caused the arcing. Extremely dangerous. They need a tank of water about 10 times larger for a generator that size. And much bigger electrodes spaced at least 2-3 feet apart.
Actually the problem occur was due to our engineer put salt on the backalite. It should have been properly dissolved in the water. That salt did the spark
480VX421A=202kW If that water barrel holds 190L at 20C° that means it will reach 100C° in about 5 minutes or about 1 minute at full power. That water resistor is way undersized. Also do not take out the electrodes with power on! that's why such thing happened.

Yes we know. But the load banks are way too costlier to purchase and to maintain. So we have this alternative. Which is risky. But the footage you saw is rare of rare incidents happened.

Is ok that plates are in line? I mean, should they be placed forming a triangle to guarantee a load balanced?
@@JPcostarica27 for a resistive load not needed
There is no risk of electrolysis products to be released creating a near explosive atmosphere?

Basically the load varies.
But the calculations you gave is top notch.
We will consider it.
480v ou 400v ?
No safety
Hello bhai generator safe hai na
Haa ji bilkul safe ha
😂😂
What happens when it arcs like that? Does the generator automatically switch off?
If the ACB breaker contains Earth Fault Relay.
The Breaker will shut down.
But Generator won’t stop you have to stop it.
