Great video, Dr. Liu. I use the Skin Better Alpha Ret and it is truly the gold standard. While it is a higher price point, it lasts a long time.
Yes I do have sensitive, dry and rosacea
I have sensitive combo skin that is seasonally really oily or really dry. I love the versed retinol. It is an excellent beginner formula. Low concentration and texture like a gel moisturizer so layers well with a light moisturizer in summer or a heavier one in winter. I originally used it a couple times a week and now can use it daily. When this bottle runs out, id like to try something a little higher concentration, but still mild.
Very helpful, thanks. I’d love to see a video with your recommendations for retinal and for granactive which is another form I’ve seen frequently.
Great suggestion! Will do
Very helpful video, thank you! ❤
Yes, I'd like review of Retinal
Great information, thanks!
The Cerave product you have pictured and linked is the exfoliating one, not the retinol product. FYI. They are both purple.
Great products
Hi dr jenny liu your skin looks so amazing 😊❤xx
Oh thank you!
Lots of options...thanks
Beauty of Joseon has a retinal that is for eyes but can be used for the whole face as well. e.l.f. has a retinol serum that contains retinal as well.
Love those as well
i’ve been able to work up to using 0.025 tretinoin with rosacea. i layer it on top of a niacinamide moisturizer. i see a much bigger difference in my skin with preventing comedones when i use a prescription retinoid
That’s awesome
Dr. Liu, is there a clinically trialed anti-aging hand cream? can you make some recommendations?
Please do a video on retinal products, does it have similar anti aging benefits as tretnoin
I’m so surprised you didn’t mention the good molecules retinol ! Literally $8 , gentle. Can’t get much better than that
Hello Dr,Jenny, I ado have Sun damage sports, brown sports and pigmentation on my face.Does Skin better work for them to reduce the appearance of it. Thank you 💐.
Alpharet for sensitive skin has been the winner for me, and i don't have to worry about exfoliation either.. so win win. I would like to see a review on Medik8 Crystal Retinal and understand efficacy of all the levels.
Will do!!
Hi Dr. Liu.. it would be really nice to get a review or overview of a doctor on the "oneskin os-01" product. Is it really revolutionary?
I started my retinoid journey with The Inkey List retinol. I have super sensitive, super dry, aged skin. Consequently, I haven’t been able to use a retinoid more than three times a week. I was sent the e.l.f. retinoid in a trial size. I can’t use it more than three times a week either. I recently purchased the Versed product. I tried it once and my skin reacted badly-some stinging for about an hour after application followed by three days of hypersensitivity afterwards. The two pumps that Versed recommends is too much for me at present. I’ll try it again with just one pump and buffer it heavily with moisturizer to see if I can tolerate it.
On the alternate days, I use the Bybi Bakuchiol serum that contains only bakuchiol and squalane. I have had some problems with bakuchiol formulas, too. The serum from Now brand was the first bakuchiol product I tried, and it was just okay-probably not enough active in it to cause issues. The cream from The Inkey List caused an immediate and intense allergic reaction. (I think it was probably the inchi oil, which I’d never tried using before.) The cream from Physician’s Formula irritated my skin too much to keep using. The cream from Byoma is so gentle that even my neck likes it, but the pump on the container stopped working.
dra.what is the first input on face. suncreen or moisturizer.or base cream ir make up what is last foundation powder ?pls help me.. 🙏🙏🙏thank you
Hi dr. Liu. What about new Vichy retinol serum from collagen specialist line? It has alcohol denat., but the rest seams ok. I'm asking for sensitiv, redness prone skin with posible rosacea. And what do you think about alcohol denat. generaly in skin care products for this type of skin problems? Thank you! 😊
Im thinking of buying the versed retinol (i have sensitive skin, oily and acne prone) and i have the manyo complex serum which has both niacinamide and ha may i use it before the retinol? Thank u for the video💕
I use trentinoin for acne and wrinkles. I’d like to use a vitamin c product for discoloration and also a moisturizer. Should I be using a moisturizer with niacinamide and hyalauronic acid or should I be using them separately? I don’t mind spending a little more for a well tested product(s) but I’m not sure where to start.
Which RX is better for hormonal acne on chin and for anti aging in your opinion altreno or aklief
How often to use the numbuzin 2toner for sensitive dry skin? Everyday twice a day or few days a week?
I have a prescription tretinoin 0.025% from my dermatologist. How long do they last before they expire?
How many times at week should I use it for acne?
Hi Dr. Liu, can you review geek and gorgeous retinal? It it said to be quite similar to the Avene one but more affordable. Thank you
I'll check it out!
Hi Dr Liu! I love your videos and so great full for every post! 💕 QUESTION: is there evidence of adverse reactions to granavtive retinoid or HPR(hydroxypinacoline retinoate)? I was told it was great for sensitive skin and when I used it I flushed immediately and felt I got a fever. I’m sure it’s not normal but I wanted to know if HPR gets incorporated into the skin/bloodstream different from just retinol or even retinal? If you read this, thank you so much 😅❤
HPR isn't a retinol and isn't going to give you results like with actual retinol, retinaldehyde, or tretinoin.
@@pattycarljacksonhelloooo 😊 I am aware that HPR is an ester of retinoic acid and would not have the same results. I am sensitive so I tread lightly with actives. Since the video is about retinoids I wanted to ask about one of the smaller members of the “family.” To clarify: I had a bad reaction to the ingredient and my question was about potential side effects, not efficacy, of HPR. If you have information about the side effects of HPR, please share!
2 years ago I kept trying & every retinol product irritated my skin
So… I still have like 6 bottles of different ones including the Cereve purple skin renewing serum which I’m trying again then if I make it through without a huge reaction I’ll try the others I still have in the fridge like the Avene retinal & several others lol
Skin better alpharet is making me purge should I switch to another brand that is less irritating?
Can I apply this for eczema?
Can the use of retinol by a 24-year-old woman (who is not pregnant, not planning to become pregnant or not breastfeeding) have a negative impact on her menstrual cycle?
I've been using retinol regularly for about 10 months and have never had menstrual problems before. When I started applying retinol on my face more and more often (every 2 days, and then every day), then at the same time I started to have elevated TSH in the blood test, I started spotting on ovulation days.
When I stopped using retinol because I wanted to use only vitamin C and other skincare products, the problem with spotting during ovulation automatically disappeared.
A month ago I went back to using retinol and this time I used it very often, almost every day.
And the problem with menstruation returned - I started spotting in the days of ovulation, menstruation is prolonged or late.
Is it a symptom of excess vitamin A in the body caused by applying retinol on the face? Or is it some kind of retinol allergy?
Why is this happening? Should I stop using retinol on my face completely? It would be a pity because retinol improves my skin condition so much (which used to be very acne-prone and now has become smooth and problem-free).
Did you find out if the skincare was the cause for the menstural cycle patterns? There is a connection between retinol and cycle, so maybe even only applying it through skincare had an effect.
How bout Korean brand retinol?
Is it only me who is turned off by dipping their finger (or anything) into a jar every night? I'm curious how exposing the cream to air does not reduce its efficacy.
Can you review the naturium retinaldehyde
Yes will do
Thank you 💗💗
Hello
40+熟龄肌强烈希望Dr liu出A醛产品推荐😊
Okay!!!!!
why is it so difficult to find out any information about retinoids and facial eczema (eyelids especially)..hmm..
