इस घटना के विरोध में लेखपाल संघ के पदाधिकारियों ने नवाबगंज थाने में धरना प्रदर्शन शुरू कर दिया। लेखपाल संघ के जिलाध्यक्ष अजीत द्विवेदी ने कहा कि उनके साथियों को बेरहमी से पीटकर घायल कर दिया गया है। उनके रिकॉर्ड्स छीन लिए गए। जब तक मारपीट के आरोपियों के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज कर उन्हें गिरफ्तार नहीं किया जाता तब तक उनका धरना जारी रहेगा
