    My favourite pen is the Kaweco brass Sport. 1/2 a turn to uncap, nicely weighted and the brass ages beautifully. I like to change inks frequently so the little Kaweco cartridges are fine. If I could, I'd buy a cartridge converter even though I'd have to refill it more often that I charge my phone. And I love the Rose Noir ink in it!

    Great video most informative. I can’t bring myself to take any decent pen to work. I’m too precious with them.. I normally carry 4 Kaweco Sports varying nib sizes and a fairly cheap full size pen as well. Such as the Diplomat Magnum. I’ve just purchased a Lamy Al-Star 1.1 stub for work journaling. I probably can’t get some of the stuff you recommend but the Lochby stuff looks super cool. Finally the Nova pocket pen you mentioned is one if not my most favourite pocket pen. The titanium broad nib is very much next level. I had particularly good service from Namisu to boot. Thank you very much

    Not which point in a EDC pen that requires more than one hand. One that I have to unscrew is even more inconvenient.
    The exception might be my Schrade tactical fountain pen. But I don't EDC it because it takes two hands to open, so it's often not much use as a pen. It's just a metal stick I'm looking at in one hand; while I'm holding the paper, or the tape measure, or the ladder, or the steering wheel in the other.
    A pen requiring a two-handed twisting ceremony is like carrying a black powder derringer, uncapped. I might as well carry a higher capacity Glock. It may be big and ugly but it works without putting everything down.

  • @jakublulek3261

    Frankly, even as an fountain pen enthusiast, I mostly carry only one fountain pen with my EDC. I always go with 1 fountain pen, 1 gell pen (mostly Pentel Energel refills, and I have couple modded Lamy/Zebra rollerball bodies to fit them in), 1 ballpoint (from fancy ones to cheap, BIC-like ones), 1 writing pencil (stenography pencil, Apsara brand is recently my favourite) and 1 mechanical pencil (I am an engineer, so I draw a lot, and I am used to my Rotring Tikky in 0.5 mm). When comes to inks, I never carry them with me, I standartized on couple inks and I just have 1 bottle at home and 1 at work (1 black, 1 blue, sometimes 1 red). I use cartridges when I am on holiday, much more practical.
    Not going into headphones, just no. I am an ureasonable person when comes to headphones, I love my expensive, poncy, cable over-ears and I bought MANY usb-c adapters to make them work on my phone (not because it's expensive, my headphone jack broke, from overuse...). And the same with cables and adapters. I used to be a sysadmin, just after the uni, and since then, I have any type of cable or adapter always with me. Plus a Live DVD and thumbdrive with linux on it. Used to carry a bunch of 3.5 inch harddrives with CentOS on it, so I can swap them if HDDs in servers failed.

    Hi DB! Nice choices on the EDC pens! I usually carry only one pen, and a little Amica notebook that I carry in a shirt pocket. The pens vary, but have been carrying some Kaweco Sports and Lamy Safari's lately. Sometimes my Kaweco Perkeo. Have also carried my Majohn A-2's now and again. I thought you were exaggerating when you first talked about the Majohn A1 and how good it was, since I'm not usually a big fan of retractable pens. I bought one of my own and now I'm a believer. Mine is clipless matte black (the clip would get in the way of my usual pen grip) and the clicking mechanism is soooo smooth and satisfying, and the nib is so smooth especially for an EF.

    • @DragonLN
      @DragonLN Месяц назад +1

      It's not about how often you need things but how badly you need them if you do vs how much of a burden it is to keep on you.
      For instance I carry earplugs on my keychain. I don't often find myself in situations I need them but if I ever did they could be the difference between hearing loss and no hearing loss. They're trivial to carry and could potentially be life changing.
      I also carry a trauma kit on me. Again I don't see accidents ever really but if I had one happen to me or came across one, it could be the difference between someone dying or not. It's definitely less convenient to carry than earplugs but the consequences of needing and not having are even worse than hearing loss.

    An awesome video DB. I've been enjoying my Bolt and Nova as well. My newest acquisition that arrived today is the Gravitas Dinkey in Tungsten with a full Copper section. It is a hefty little pen at around 54 gm!! I now have 3 Lamy 2000's two of which are the regular Makrolon, the 3rd is the newest in Stainless Steel with a very smooth and beautiful Extra Fine nib writing like a Japanese Fine. I know what you mean about the Montblanc Noblesse, a pen so completely opposite of what normally attracts you, but you just have to have it. I also got a Custom 912, but with a Waverly nib.
