    I saw Wire live in 1978 but didn't have any records. In the past 6 months I've bought 5 of their albums and they are all brilliant. You are never too old to surprise yourself !

      I hope it was an eye opener (ear). It seems it was, since you bought a bunch of albums from them. I live in Holland and bought Pink Flag immediately after its release, and this is the Wire I know from the Punk era.
      Good solid Rock and Roll. I am 65 and still listen to the Pink Flag. I am a Rock and Roll Junkie 😂😎

    Eternal and seminal band ...
    From "Pink Flag" to this incredible "Silver Lead", a trail marked by talent and consistency.
    Wire.

    I wish there was a "proper" recording of "The Art Of Persistence" because the way they perform that song live is brilliant. One of my favorite moments from the Wire show in Cambridge, MA that I attended.

    I've been reading the book "Read & Burn." It's likely the best and most conclusive book on Wire. And thank God Robert Grey is here playing drums after those dismal 90's days of "Manscape" and "Wir!"

    I discovered Wire in retrospect in the last few years, like much of the music around the time of their first 3 albums, and I've just sort of presumed that they were the only things of theirs worth listening to. More fool me, this sounds great.

    Saw them in LA years ago. The opening act played Wire covers, their more well known songs. Brilliant idea. Hands down my top 3 bands!

    They weren’t always too keen on playing the classics so in the late 80s I believe, they hired a cover band to play primarily Pink Flag and open up for them...

    They're playing at the Guild Hall in Preston on Monday October 30th and the amazing thing is that tickets are only £18, including booking fee. Great band, always interesting.

    Not sure what that copy of The Shaggs Philosophy of the World album propped up against the new guitarist's amp is all about, but, hey, it's Wire, and they're doing what they do as well as they ever have, and I for one, am very grateful...top shelf!!!
