Magic stuff mate. Do you (or anyone else) know if the Western Terrace and steps will have a covering or will they be left as bare concrete as they are in the interior bowl? Think it would look a bit "unfinished" especially as the block work on the upper terrace looks so good. Cheers, Al.

Hi there Richard, the mini 4 is perfect for you! Just make sure you complete the DMARES registration and display your operator ID on the drone. Maybe try some nice easy flights first in large open areas to get used to your drone. Good luck!!! 👍🏻

Yeah if you get the ferry from the Pier head to Seacombe it goes right past BMD and turns towards Seacombe,you get a great view from the ferry.

One for Dave B or Dunc the Blue! They’ve obviously installed the big screens but there doesn’t look to be anything soon on the screen that cover 3 quarters of stadium between the 2 tiers. Any notion on when these will put in or will it coincide with the advertising boards? Great video.
Andy: that's a great question and I am afraid I have no answer to it. I expect any of the boards (incidentally the pitch side ones will be forward of the barriers you can see being mounted at the foot of the terraces on the North, East and South sides, but not the West because the main TV Camera will be on the West Stand) will get installed/erected in the customisation phase after LoR finish. That's just an educated guess, so don't quote me on it, please.
As the barrel cladding nears completion I have noticed that the East Stand barrel cladding vents seem to have no conformity compared to the West Stand! Even if they had to use dummy vents aesthetically it would have looked a lot better if they had been placed from one end to the other! COYB💙
I agree, they should have used a ‘dummy’ vent on the northern part of the east barrel cladding, so it matches the southern vents. We’ll have to get used to the oddness

Love the video, quality as always! One question if anyone knows the answer... Does anyone know what type of material they are using to finish the roof for the outer shell of the stadium? It's currently just bare concrete, but on the plans it's black to blend with the black cladding in the vertical lines, just wondering if this will be cladding or some other material and when do we reckon this might be done?
It won’t be cladding but black/very dark grey screeding sealant and they’ll probably start when the barrel cladding is finished

This is our last season at Goodison and then the following season will be at BMD
Yeah, first league game in August 2025. The fan base is split - a lot think the club are mad to leave a completed stadium unused for 8 months. The 3 safety certificate events can take place in e.g. Feb, and we can have the first game in March. Those in charge of running our club are stubborn and sentimental though, so it won’t happen.
Any chance you could zoom in on some floodlights in a future vid , can’t see where these have been installed

Good morning, Nick, on the 21st July. I haven't sent this message on the morning of Friday, 19th July. 😉
Some PoI's not covered yet in commentaries to more recent videos seen elsewhere:
1) At 2:19 mins, it looks as though LoR have started on the dark-grey/black screeding/painting of the concrete roof under the barrel roof of the East Stand and possibly the NE Corner, although that lower roof looks to have some water laying there too.
2) At 2:21 mins, far right of the screen, you can see that they have erected the first of the wind baffle panels on the first black posts under the North Stand overhang.
3) At 5:24 mins, you can see that they have started installing the balustrade posts and horizontal bars either side of the West end of the Southern Isolation Bridge, between the pedestrian/bicycle areas of the West Quay and the old West Quay old Dock Wall Granite Coping Stones.
4) At 10:27 mins, at the top of the Lower Tier, next to the back wall, near the SE corner end of the West Stand, there appears to be a structure disrupting the pattern of the seats. can you take a closer look to see what's happening there, please?
5) At 1048 mins, what is going on with the scaffolding at the back of the Lower Tier at the SE end of the East Stand, with a platform sticking out of the Tier Division levels? A closer look at that, perhaps, Nick?
6) I think that the future level of the surrounds to the pitch will be at the same level of the top of the "manholes" situated around the edge at the base of the terraces. the pitch will be slightly higher than the surrounds, so we can see that there is still some build-up to the pitch area to go on yet.
7) A general comment: they still have some way to go to complete all the stair safety treads.
I look forward to your next up-to-date update (sorry, I'm taking the piss unfairly, as you do a sterling job to keep the regular offerings coming).

Hi Nick. I’m sure this has been covered before, but with the south stand rail seating, will the rails not be an obstruction of view during a match, when fans are seated? Perhaps not a direct obstruction, but they just appear from a far, to be almost eye level when sitting? I’m sure I’m wrong.

barrel cladding will be finished Monday. Not sure if you or David Babcock know, but are the club planning on personalising some of the interior bowl / seating. On the people place app and images there are lots of blue areas that are still currently bare concrete or out concourse, walls between south stand and east/west stands etc
Unsure about the bare concrete areas inside the stadium you’re referring to, but the corners on the south stand won’t have seats installed until they finish sealing the roof above. There are numerous concrete platforms for the TV cameras and wheelchair users. The bare concrete area in the west stand lower tier (below the lower executive boxes) is about to have very posh seats installed. The bare concrete flat roofs outside will have black or very dark grey screeding sealant applied. Once LoR have handed the stadium over, the club will add their ‘branding.’
Where have they got with the pitch is the under soil been put in and if so have they seeded it
They’re installing the under soil heating at the moment and the sprinklers are now in place. They’ll be sowing the grass seed in August
Sorry Nick, but I couldn't help but notice a disparity in the date you gave for your video and the actual progress made on the site. The barrel cladding on the west stand was much more complete yesterday afternoon (20/07/24) than is showing in your video dated the 21/07/24.. I thought I was going mad at first so had to check, but yes, seems to be the case.

To be fair he didn't say he was there this morning (21/07/24) he says "coming to you Sunday 21st" then does a little day count in his head before checking the date on his phone.
So I'd guess he filmed Thursday or Friday intending to release it this morning.
Friday morning at about 6:30am guys. That’s why I don’t say “Today 21st” or anything like that. 👍🏻

What are the lighter parts on the side of the cladding for? There’s like 4 then a gap 1 gap 2 gap then 1? And I’ve just noticed the west stand has even more of them
They’re air exhaust vents. Their shape, size, number and location is dictated by the extractor fans from hospitality/kitchens under the barrel cladding. The west stand is the main stand, so has more hospitality/kitchens and, therefore, more vents

More of a concern is this 777 A-cap loan, which appears to be a stumbling block for any potential new owner we desperately need.
Will the pitch dimensions be identical than that of Goodison Park?
Michael: bigger and of a size that UEFA demand, which is one of many reasons as to why this stadium will be hosting Euros matches in 2028.
Apparently, Goodison is 103 metres x 70m and BMD pitch is 105m x 71m

Bigger pitches encourage more expansive football, I remember Moyes narrowing the lines of the pitch one year, to keep things tight.
You'd like to think that new players would be brought in who suit playing on bigger pitches.

They've started to put the panelling up on the South West corner between the barrel cladding and the glass of the south stand. It looks great. Good to see the final touches being added.

You can see they're yet to put the panelling on the South East side of it, almost like a before and after.
Indeed. They started on the lower corner coving/fascia on the SW and NE corners last weekend. The chat since has been as to whether they will be adding end caps to bridge the gap between the coving/fascia and the barrel-cladding edges.

There won’t be any artificial lighting in the water channel. Water will be able to flow between the water channel and Nelson Dock and Sandon Dock. The water channel won’t be navigable.

So the concrete patches in the stands , are these disabled areas and corporate if so are the concrete areas getting painted , sorry if this has been answered my ocd is working over time and don't like the patches , am shocked at lack of blue and white outside the stadium as blue and white is our identity just wondering why it's lacking outside
The lack of blue outside is mainly due to the heritage status and the building having to match surroundings, like the Titanic hotel and the Tobacco warehouse. The club will add some subtle blue branding, e.g. blue lighting of the barrel cladding and blue EFC banners in the fan zone plaza and under the north and south stands. Inside the ground, the club will add more blue to those bare concrete platforms (most of which are for wheelchair users and also TV cameras).
Think when the time comes to open the stadium you should consider having a Everton v Liverpool legends charity match?

That’s harsh, Peet. Mr D is a very busy man, he works incredibly hard to bring us these fantastic vids, the editing takes a while too, and he has a young family to support. Yes, they installed some more barrel cladding panels on the west side on Saturday (which some of the other droners captured) but this is still a cracking vid of our magnificent new stadium (and a welcome distraction from the club ownership turmoil) 👍🏻

@misterdroneuk I think the problem maybe is that from the intro its easy to think this footage is from Sunday when it was taken on Friday which then leads to disappointment that its not as up to date as it suggests. I think people do appreciate that you take time out to capture the build.

It looks fantastic, futuristic an all that but there's just no BLUE involved on the building itself. Apart from the seats, cars in the carpark and the sky on a sunny day, where's the statement of it saying, this is the glory, home of Everton FC.
Totally agree Craig…great stadium but who does it belong to ??. I asked a similar question about the seats in the dugout not having our crest on them and was advised by Dunc or David that Everton was waiting for confirmation on their sponsorship. These guys have given honest information from day one so I believe them both.
When LoR hand over the stadium, Everton will then start adding finishing touches, including the Everton Way, Flags, Banners, and other "Everton" touches.
Fair enough. Roll on new owners and sponsorships.
Craig: I have no comment to make about the urge to have a crest on the dugout seats. I doubt they will now be added as that's an expensive way to go about things and I hope they don't stitch it on like the badges on the new kit!
However, with regard to the branding, Darren has given you a correct, broad, brief summary. If you want to know the long list of potential locations on and the building and the plazas/or concourses, then let me know and I'll detail them. In time it will have quite a bit of branding added to this blank canvas.
