Good morning. Soooo cold. Gosh I will glad when the warm weather get coming in. Cute the little calf riding in the front seat!!!.Amazing all the little calves laying in the sun. They know where it is warm. Tough job for you getting up in the middle of the night to check on the cows. We are under another storm watch here in London, Ontario. Ice Storm . This is suppose to hit here on Monday and monday night. I hope it has lost its power before it gets here. Hugs to Damaris and Silas
🤣😂 I laughed soooo hard at your sons' reaction to you when you asked if he wanted to go feed with you! LOL! That's the look I give my husband when he asks me that question. Hahaha! And for anyone that has never done this kind of work? I can tell you that you literally push through so much exhaustion, freezing cold, muscles aching from how hard you push to take care of very heavy baby calves not ever going where you need them to and all it takes just to get the job done right... calving season is a labor of love and commitment. Ive been praying very hard for you and all your cattle during this brutal storm. Hang in there my friend!
Kudos to you Carson…… Hopefully this sub zero weather goes away soon…. Those warming boxes are worth the money…. This weather has been brutal for the Dakotas this year….I guess you probably experience it ever year but it seems like this year it’s been one storm after another….Great job for all your hard work…it pays off in the long run..Stay safe and stay warm….Thanks for another informative video..Until the next video..take care..,,,❤
It is such a joy to watch the calves and mommas and the way you take care of them. Thank you so much for sharing. Your baby boy is growing too. He is precious!!
I have to watch you to know that other ranchers have it harder then what we are going through. Here in San Diego County we have two feet of snow on the ground in the middle of our calving season with temperatures in the mid twenties and blowing snow
Hey Carson! Oh no -17 is way too cold. Hope you all are okay. Use a stethoscope to listen to the stomach to see if you can hear when milk is going in. The cows look good even though it's so cold. Thanks for working so hard raising food for people. Praying for all of you up there and have to be out in it. The baby is growing, gosh he's a cutie!
Good to see the dedicated Sleep Ranch crew fighting through the snow and cold to keep your cow herd healthy. Takes dedication to get out of your warm bed at night or early morning to check on the calves.
Oh the eyes on Silas when you asked him ….you wanna go out to feed the cattle!!!👀. Carson he looked like he wanted to say I heard you say it was 20 below zero…..moo ok way dad Besides the in the barn…..The sounds in the barn with it that cold also was wild .
Love your videos. Don't think I've ever seen anyone take care of their cows and calves the way you do. Take care..stay warm..much love to you and your family
You are an effective cow, heifer and calf whisperer, Carson. They follow your recommendations to them. They know that you have their best interests in mind.
I have to say I feel for you we're going through the same thing in southern Utah not quite as cold but it's cold and those sleds come in handy don't they
I appreciate your hard work during miserable conditions. Any livestock farmer / rancher knows how much of a challenge the weather can be. God bless you richly! (I think he already has)
Really enjoying your videos! Been following for probably right at a year now... We farm cattle in South Africa, not nearly to the scale of you guys though(only about 200 cows). Don't have many problems with predators or weather, mostly drought and rough country that are our problems. Keep up the good work, see you've got lots of it!
The calves look beautiful---Thank you for such great care of all of the cattle. Farming/ranching is always work--GOD BLESS your operation in ranching and to the entire family.
Been anxious to hear how it went through the storm. So glad to hear you only lost the one, it could have been so much worse. So fun to see all the calves grouped up together.
I take my hat off to you guys faming in these extreme temps and conditions- I understand that caring for the cows and calves is good for business but you guys do more....well done
We are lucky here in Illinois by Chicago we get down in 20's at night we been average middle 30's up to high 40's couple days cold rain here and there last month hope you and family stay safe though cold weather 🍻🍻
Gives a new meaning to "that sucked" as a good thing not bad! I'll have to remember that. Learn something everyday. I saw a sheep farm with little plastic jackets @ 20- but your calfs are too tough for that.
Great work, Carson, never experienced what you have to undergo each calving. It's a very demanding job. Enjoy witnessing the process; your cows are great mothers. Don't know what torch you were using but I recently brought a Olight warrior mini 2 as well as a head band torch and a couple of other torches that fit onto our rifles. They are the best torches for light and running time I have ever had. I waited though until they were on sale as they are quite expensive.. Good luck with the rest of your calving hope it warms up for you, say hello to Damaris and Silas. from Down Under.
It's always amazing to see the huge effort it takes to put a hamburg or steak on my plate. Seeing all the time, energy and cost makes me think my hamburg should cost about twice as much or more.
Man you hats so wild. First time viewing your channel. I'm going to subscribe and check you out. I'm a city slicker that just moved to the country. Not gonna farm but live farming videos big time. Sonne farms is a big favorite. That calve during winter as well. SOOO challenging. God bless farmers around the world for feeding us.
I'll keep prayers going up for your animals. What a wonderful caregiver. Touches my heart to see the calves getting warmed up and fed. Baby Silas was born into a loving ❤ home. It doesn't get any better than that. He's such a sweetheart. Thanks for sharing him.
My Dad had life long friends, 4 generations, of Black Angus cattlemen. Man, I had no idea what you guys go through in calving season! What is the science behind breeding, so born this time of year? Curious in East Central Iowa! 🤔 💖
Nuflor and draxon are both pretty potent antibiotics.. But if you have a calf down and ,out, they have been known to bring the calf back from the brink soft of speak.. Good luck with the remaining cows to calve. I have calves year around but the bulk come in March and april . No where near your numbers 10 to 15 calves yearly. Not hundreds.
Hey from Kentucky, I'm newer to the channel and love the attention you give to the cattle and the care you give them. We are a tiny operation compared to you guys and I was just wondering what is the advantage in your area to calve early spring? Like I said I love the channel and would love to visit the area sometime. I am just curious just knowing the spring weather you guys can have can be harsh and unpredictable. Keep up the good work!!
Great question! We run our cattle on forest service permits in the summer, we calve early so our cows can get rebred before we go onto the grazing permits in June. Other wise those permits are just too big, our bulls can’t cover the large acreages and breed all the cows!
Everything is looking good considering the weather. Watching your videos in the hospital in Sux Falls as I had surgery on my ankle and they took the hardware out cuz it was causing a infection to my ankle.
Sleep Ranch are they calling for any major snow storms coming up as we had alot of fog this winter and they say 90 days after fog you get precipitation, so I'm looking at alot of precipitation in March and April but I wish for a early spring type weather in March like when I was a kid.
You need to use optimizing jail Sunny farms used it they live in Mount Vernon South Dakota and they raised Black Angus to so tried if you can get it it might work out Steve North Carolina
How many times a night does somebody do a walk through looking for newborns, pretty sure it depends on the weather some, so just an average? Glad with your success getting through the cold snap good luck. Thanks Al
Great job. Is Calving always in feb with such lower temperatures or is very 2023 exceptional ? Was not aware of these winter temp for cattle in the USA Keep safe greetings from 🇫🇷
I’m curious about something- If you can synchronize their ovulation, why would you not synch them to deliver in late April, early May? It seems it would be a lot easier on the cows, you and your staff if it was a bit warmer out.
Oh I hate having to but cows in a tight area for protection ! Someone’s baby is going to to get stepped on. But you got to do what you have to do ! Hopefully it’s going to warm up soon. Good luck.
...TOUGH COWS AND TOUGH COWBOYS, A GOOD COMBINATION...LOL..GOOD JOB, KEEP SAFE AND WARM...

Thanks bud for thinking of everybody. Your a good man. Wishing you the best.
Spring is on the way! March first on Wednesday - God's Blessings on you all.
Lot of work keeping up with the calves being born in the cold. Glad there getting coyotes. Lord Bless you.
We appreciate the work you do and for allowing us to go along! Blessings,,
I've been thinking about your family and farm. I'm glad so far y'all have only lost one calf.
You absolutely have the patience of a Saint!! God bless you always Carson!!!!

Amazing how a calf can be born outside in very cold conditions. Great video.
Awesome watching these mommas and ther calf’s and the job you do isn’t for the faint of heart…
Great job! We got snow last night! Just enough to make a mess! Be safe out there
Nice video showing and explaining what you do for the cold snaps. Hope you do not loose any more. Your little man is adorable. Stay safe and healthy.
Ya'll are amazing at how hard you work with all the babies and mothers. God bless each of you
Said prayers for all ranchers out there dealing with the cold. Great video and baby is beautiful
It is such a joy to watch the calves and mommas and the way you take care of them. Thank you so much for sharing. Your baby boy is growing too. He is precious!!
Great video 📹 hopefully no more calfs die but that's part of being a Rancher
God bless in this stressfull time of calving.
Big prayers for your Ranch. Love your channel. It is steadily growing and that is awesome.
I have to watch you to know that other ranchers have it harder then what we are going through. Here in San Diego County we have two feet of snow on the ground in the middle of our calving season with temperatures in the mid twenties and blowing snow
Awesome report, thanks you are working hard maybe that example will get contagious

Any rancher who is successful takes care of their cows just just like the Sleep ranch does
Wow this is so incredible to watch. So freaking amazing. New births. God is so cool making these cows.
Hugs and love, Janet 🐃🐃🐃🐃
Calve on friends!!!!
Hang in there, green grass is coming eventually.
Good video. I have now watched all of your videos. Can’t wait for the next one!!
Let's hope the majority of cows are holding off for better weather. God bless
You are an effective cow, heifer and calf whisperer, Carson. They follow your recommendations to them. They know that you have their best interests in mind.
Doing a great job. Hope the weather stays in your favor. 😊
I have to say I feel for you we're going through the same thing in southern Utah not quite as cold but it's cold and those sleds come in handy don't they
Silas is so cute, you have to make him smile when on camera.. Love him....💞
Your baby is adorable. My hubby was stranded in hi tractor trailer in Mitchel until I 90 opened. 27 below
Yikes!
That is a brutal but rewarding job!
I appreciate your hard work during miserable conditions. Any livestock farmer / rancher knows how much of a challenge the weather can be. God bless you richly! (I think he already has)
I just love face Mr. Silas makes you made a perfect human. Nice set of calves.
Really enjoying your videos! Been following for probably right at a year now... We farm cattle in South Africa, not nearly to the scale of you guys though(only about 200 cows). Praying you don't lose anymore. The weather is even being crazy here in Cali with snow on the beaches. Not normal at all.
Been anxious to hear how it went through the storm. So glad to hear you only lost the one, it could have been so much worse. So fun to see all the calves grouped up together.
Little Silas is so cute. His look of "Oh, heck no!" to dad's question of "wanna go outside?" was hilarious. Love and blessings to you guys. 💖
Those cows are lucky to be on a ranch with your family!!
GOODNESS 20 below zero!😳 you have my prayers!
I take my hat off to you guys faming in these extreme temps and conditions- I understand that caring for the cows and calves is good for business but you guys do more....well done
O wow your son is looking just like you(spitting image)💕greetings from holland
Mad respect for you all. Well done 👍 in tough conditions
Great video Carson
We are lucky here in Illinois by Chicago we get down in 20's at night we been average middle 30's up to high 40's couple days cold rain here and there last month hope you and family stay safe though cold weather 🍻🍻
Very informative - thanks
A lot harder than a nine to five job. Cold in winter and hot in the summer, middle of the night checks.👍❤️🇨🇦
Nu flor is great . Im so sick of winter
Thanks for the video Carson, enjoyed seeing your caring for your calves! Good to see baby Silas 🥰
Praying for you.
Gives a new meaning to "that sucked" as a good thing not bad! I'll have to remember that. Learn something everyday. I saw a sheep farm with little plastic jackets @ 20- but your calfs are too tough for that.
Carson u are doing a great job with the calves in difficult conditions

I have it so easy here in East Texas. You guys are my heros! All mine hit the ground sucking and running in 50 deg weather
Another exceptional effort on care and preparation for your herd
The work will definately have a positive effect, and thank you all
🙂
Very interesting video Thank you
Praying for you guys also 🙏

It takes lots of work to pull them calves through in the bitter weather. Then guys in Canada have been calving for a month already .
I love your videos keep it coming

February is almost over and March should bring you more consistent weather. Great work and good luck

Your guys are amazing!

Thanks Alan, we check them at 9pm, midnight and 4:30 am!
Warm Blessings to man and beast ❤ keep warm folks! The cows are so frozen, they’re making a cracking noise!?
AND some people think they have a "rough job", they should walk a mile in your boots 👍
🙏🙏🙏
Great job. Is Calving always in feb with such lower temperatures or is very 2023 exceptional ? Was not aware of these winter temp for cattle in the USA Keep safe greetings from 🇫🇷

Hot chocolate at the ready!!
How many calf’s do you guys have in total so far
About 330 so far

Oh I hate having to but cows in a tight area for protection !
Someone’s baby is going to to get stepped on.
But you got to do what you have to do !
Hopefully it’s going to warm up soon. Good luck.

Why don’t you put it in a bottle so it get to suck?
Why don't you bottle feed him the Colostrom.

Thank you for the video. Shame you keep waving the camera around like a baseball bat.
I’ll try to control it better haha
