    Thanks everyone for watching! It has been an interesting and educating journey making content. One thing I've come to learn is the impact RUclips's Compression can have on the footage from all these Retro Enhancement Devices. Keep in mind that some detail is always lost with compression. My commentary is in response to what I've experienced from playing on my TV and watching the Raw Capture Files. I've added this info to the description of videos going forward, but wanted to post this comment to all the videos prior to that change. Thanks again for watching, I really appreciate it!

    While RAD2X adapters only work with one or maybe a few different consoles, eliminating the need to get a good quality component or RGB cable for the systems you're using it with goes a long way to off-set the costs associated with not being able to use them with all of your consoles, and using two different RAD2Xs could still be a lot more cost effective than using a more versatile scaler like the Retrotink 2X Pro or GBS-C. The 5x Pro is obviously on a completely different level when it comes to cost before you even consider the additional cost of good component or RGB cables.
    Of course, there are some very cheap RGB and/or component cables that you can get, but they definitely will reduce image quality.

    You should review the GameStop HDMI Component Converter and the GameStop Universal RCA to HDMI Converter. they are from GameStop themselves.

    Thanks for sharing these informations and examples 🙏! What do you think about the Analogue Super NT? How does it compare with 5X Pro?

    • @RetroBoost
      @RetroBoost 11 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks! I’ve never used the Super NT before, but reading about it, it reminds me of the Retron 5, which I have used. Now that I think about, I should compare that against RetroTink at some point. The Retron 5 would perform a ROM Dump when you insert the cartridge, running the game as an emulation, outputting the video over hdmi in 720p. Very clear and sharp output. I haven’t used it in a while, maybe I should, you’ve got me thinking…

      The one thing I will say that makes The RetroTink 5X Pro better is the wider support of consoles. The Retron 5 supports NES, SNES, Famicom, Super Famicom, Genesis, and GBA/GBA-Advance. Sounds like a lot, and it is, but the 5X Pro can do that and more. It has the capability to run basically any game console, since it can take composite, component, SCART, and S-Video. The Component and SCART are the special ones though, because that means you can run consoles like the GameCube in its superior 480p mode, or use upgrades component cabling solutions or scart for consoles like the SNES or Genesis.

      @@RetroBoost thanks for the reply and the information. I have a Super NT and I can't complain about the image and audio quality, it's just perfect. But sometimes I'd like to play on my original Super Nintendo connected to my LED TV, and for that I'm considering RetroTink 5X Pro. A RetroTink 5X Pro vs Retron 5 comparison would be nice indeed. All the best for you, have a nice weekend!

    I like this overscan to 1080p. Games like SF Zero/Alpha 2 or Fatal Fury Special works in "fullscreen"?

    • @RetroBoost
      @RetroBoost 11 месяцев назад +2

      1080p Over is the “5X” in the 5X Pro. It also produces an image most similar to how a CRT looks, in terms of the overscan. For some games, I found it to be a little much, like with Turtles in Time, but you can always use the scaling feature to compensate or just use a different output resolution for some games. Case by case, preference by preference.

    I like both these products, tbh I think it comes down to what systems you are wanting to run. If you're just wanting to get your SNES and PS1 then rad2x is way cheaper and simpler. I was thinking of going rad2x all the way but by the time I would end up buying all the cables I should just with the 5x pro and then I can upscale my wii, Dreamcast, and Xbox too.

    • @RetroBoost
      @RetroBoost 11 месяцев назад +1

      Very well said! RetroTINK has a variety of options that suit a large collection of diverse consoles, where the RAD2X is a simpler device for a more focused need, plus for certain consoles like the SNES you get the benefit of RGB, which normally requires a mod or enhanced cabling of some kind to get using another solution.
