I've had a couple opportunities to date very attractive men that wanted me. One was an actor and the other was a director, but both I know were in relationships. I refused their advances and never saw them again. I didn't want to be the "other woman" or do that to their women. It felt wrong. Stuff like this is why I have said marriage is signing your life away to someone else. It was always intended to be permanent and with one person. If you marry, divorce, then marry someone else, it undermines any further relationships you may have for the rest of your life. If you are married to multiple people, it undermines all those relationships and causes immense conflict between everyone involved. If you are going to marry someone, it better be because you would rather give the rest of your life to them and them alone than live with anyone else or continue living alone. If you marry someone, it better be because you love them more than you love yourself. If you go for it with anything less than that, it will only cause problems and hurt people.
No marriage is a life long commitment that driving factor is duty rather than simply love in a shallow sense. It's the culture and government that's ruined the institution. Get rid of divorce and family courts, force people to think before they choose.
That's basically what I'm saying. Marriage is permanent, and to throw it away lightly is abhorrent. Initially, there was no concession for divorce, and I believe that we should return to that with the only exceptions being in cases of abuse. If you decide you don't like your spouse after a few years, too bad. You willingly chose to marry them and had multiple opportunities to withdraw.

Well, it lies with both of them. Because both of them are involved in the decision to cheat. Clearly she knew this guy was married, so she's at fault too. She can't claim that she didn't know, or that he was single or separated or whatever.

Stuff like this is why I have said marriage is signing your life away to someone else. It was always intended to be permanent and with one person. If you marry, divorce, then marry someone else, it undermines any further relationships you may have for the rest of your life. If you are married to multiple people, it undermines all those relationships and causes immense conflict between everyone involved. If you are going to marry someone, it better be because you would rather give the rest of your life to them and them alone than live with anyone else or continue living alone. If you marry someone, it better be because you love them more than you love yourself. If you go for it with anything less than that, it will only cause problems and hurt people.

No marriage is a life long commitment that driving factor is duty rather than simply love in a shallow sense. It's the culture and government that's ruined the institution. Get rid of divorce and family courts, force people to think before they choose.
That's basically what I'm saying. Marriage is permanent, and to throw it away lightly is abhorrent. Initially, there was no concession for divorce, and I believe that we should return to that with the only exceptions being in cases of abuse. If you decide you don't like your spouse after a few years, too bad. You willingly chose to marry them and had multiple opportunities to withdraw.
Marriage is the worst thing that ever happened to me. & I say the same for so many people. That includes Adam Levines wife. There is no greater betrayer then being cheated on after you're married. & the worts part is, you have other people involved then (your own kids). And your spouse did not care enough to at least think about them.

I recently heard the following quote in a TED talk and I think it is relevant to the last words in this video, regarding the divorce after 5-15 years. The quote was "If, in the past , people divorced, because they were unhappy, now they divorce, because they could be happIER", which is essentially why they are leaving commitment and already built relationship.
