After she fell in health and moved to a nursing home, we visited and she told us a bit about her floors’ traditions. People on her floor always wore bathrobes between the shared showers and bedrooms-the implications were that this was not the case on all floors. Within a few months of that, there was news that another nursing home in Massachusetts that saw police action for disorderly conduct. If I recall correctly, it was the aftermath of an especially fierce and alcohol-soaked bingo match. After a certain age, I just don’t think people can be bothered to do anything or play by anyone’s rules. They just don’t care what other’s think because they’ve grown out of self-consciousness.
