Pat is spot on. I started watching cod consistently in Ghosts and every weekend I got to watch an 8-12 hr tournament between the best teams in the game with something on the line. Now we have to wait 2 months to watch our favourite teams play 1-2 games a weekend that ultimately mean nothing, and then wait another month for the actual major. It has gone completely backwards.
Yeah and it’s crazy in 200 plus million dollar league we start the season later and end it earlier. I don’t think anyone trying to build something is going to do well with a 6 month break like the nba has a good 4 month offseason but they’re so big and have gained so many loyal fans they can afford to do that but cod needs at least an 8 month season with 7 plus tournaments and open bracket tournaments are a must or your just killing the challenger league

So tired of this take that “leagues are dumb.” I like having teams associated with locations. What excites me is when esports uses locations as a way of binding people to teams. I feel an affinity to the Dallas fuel and Dallas empire and now optic Texas NOT BECAUSE OF THE PLAYERS. Not even because of the owners. I rep my city. That’s it. I can’t get into LOL or CS GO because it’s always “team green dragon” vs. “cloud nine.” Now I understand these brands like 100 Theives and optic, but before they were disconnected from any grounding and I think that’s really helpful for people who are new to an esport. AND GUESS WHAT.. the market agrees (talking about the publicly traded faze fiasco). These are companies that only people deeeeep into esports knows, and the brands themselves aren’t as established as all of these old heads think they are.
Pat is 100% right, the RUclips deal is a massive slap to the face to fans. (Maybe even a god damn punch) CDL does no content and I'll speak for myself, but I LOVE watching the flank and being able to have knowledgeable and entertaining people analyse the gameplay. I often don't get to catch them live and The flank is a nice way to sum it all up and then I can go watch the games on Zoomaa live. Not being allowed to do content AFTER live broadcast just because you do it on Twitch is wild. Such a waste and rob fans of entertainment and content....

It’s insane that you can find a lot of streams that cover shows on television that have an “exclusivity deal” with whatever network they air the show on and the streams don’t get dmca strikes. To me the cdl really thinks their shit don’t stink and they are literally clogging the pipeline for creators and consumers of content.

It’s been 5 years of disappointment every year since it started we thought well it’s early maybe next year we will get some major changes and it’s just been underwhelming the CDL needs to go they have ruined comp cod
Faze showed the same concerns in respawn they’ve been having for the last few years where they don’t play fundamentally and just bully their breaks but all they got was praise and how Simp’s back. OpTic showed signs of the same concerns they had the last few years with challing unnecessary fights and these guys harped on that the entire time talking about them
