Part 3 recommendations: AirTran, Eastern, Aloha
Adding on to this you can also do PSA
Lets include MALÉV
And Itavia
I remember when Braniff International went under, I was still in high school when BI shutdown & eventually flew all their aircraft back to DFW to be parked until sold or other fate for the planes. Some 727's were used to create Braniff 2 which was short lived as Braniff 3 was too. I still have flight schedules from that airline including a couple from the original BI. If I remember right & what I've read in past some former Braniff International employees stated the charter & passenger service Sun Country Airlines which based out of Minnesota which some former BI 727's were used to start Sun Country Airlines which I flew that airline only once. Also the former hangar & cooperate office is still standing to this day at Dallas Love Field Airport in Dallas, Texas which is great. Braniff International used to fly to Lubbock, Texas where I currently live.
I’m sad that Flybe is gone they were my favourite uk airline and an iconic airline operating the amazing q400. I sometimes do planespotting at Edinburgh and Flybe we’re always there but now there’s non😢😢
Alex Watson lol dude rip
The bean man Ray I know right it’s sad
Those 747-8Is are definitely allocated to be the new airforce 1’s. Kinda funny when you think about it, planes destined for a Russian airline going straight to the US president! Great video as always.
I was surprised by his comment that he couldn't find anything. There's articles everywhere about these two airplanes becoming VC-25B aircraft. I can only assume SAM-30000 and SAM-31000 but who knows.
5:16 I believe that was the only one
Lovely as always! Love the GJ13 footage. Part 3 would be great! Army of NWA’s! Really enjoyed it!
As someone who lives right next to Minneapolis-St. Paul Intl Airport, it really makes me sad to see Northwest. I remember the days when I would see many NWA planes fly over my house on short final.
Awesome video man! I really like your Top 10 series! Keep it up!
I flew with Northwest many times as a little kid because my parents were divorced and lived in different states. One of my first model airplanes was a Northwest plane because I liked the colors and begged my mom to get it for me at the airport store. Long before I started collecting model planes.
thanks for this. Great video! :)
Thanks for part 2!
Congrats on 20 thousand subs
i absolutely LOVE the way you went around that bit regarding the two 747-8s hahahah
WE NEED MORE OF THESE
I wish Caledonian still flew. I love their livery and their L1011s.
Great video! Congratulations for 20k subscribers
Your theory about the 747- 8 could be real.
It is. Boeing just started fitting the first one with all the presidential needs
2021: Remember commercial aviation?
Congrats on 20k!!!!!!!!!
Yay it's back to "Aviation18"!
Yes a part 3 would be awesome. If you could also include Air Jamaica that would be cool too. I enjoy your videos
Awesome video
Cool vid!
Congratulations on 20k
I've flown so many extinct airlines: Virgin America, Continental, TWA, Northwest and US Airways.
Continental Airlines changed its name to United Airlines.
Thanks you added braniff nice
Make a part 3 please this is very interesting and the way that you say things makes it sound nice if you can make a part 3 that would be very amazing
Interesting video:)
I loved virgin America, the most amazing interior, great service etc.
Nice Dude!
Great vid, greetings from Sweden!
Orion 9000 stay safe my orion neighbor
Kind regards from denmark
TeamBuildz Yt I Found a dane as me I see.
Nice video👍👍
Nice job
Thank you very much. I must have blinked and missed some.
Thanks for including virgin America it was my favorite airline
I like your vids dude
Once again
Rip to all these airlines
Love it 🔥🔥🔥
Great video! Maybe do Balkan Bulgarian Airlines next?
5:02 What you said about the NWA fleet wasn't a full fleet, and NWA don't operate 707s before they've merged.
I flew on British Caledonian BAC 1-11s and loved it. Staff in-flight and at airports were grrreeeate!
What an amazing airline Monarch was. It certainly was a pleasure to work for them in their final days.
Make a part 3 and add Jet Airways
One more airline if u make part 3 is bashkirian airlines it ended in 2007 after the uberlingen collision however it's not a mainstream airline I found out about it in air disasters
World Airways, Pacific Southwest Airlines(PSA), and Aloha Air
Maersk Air from Denmark. Great video.
You're correct, those 747-8s did become the new Air Force one's. But heavy modification did occur, so nothing of the Transaero livery or anything else remains.
*will become
Gonna take some time for the VC-25B to enter the fleet.
Dear Aviation 18, I just watched two of your videos, TOP 10 Deceased Airlines Part 1 & 2. Great videos, but a quick question please. @ 10:26 you mention some of the reasons Braniff International fail at the end, fuel and credit card interest rate. So why is that credit card interest was part of the failure of Braniff?
Very good video! Pan Am, TWA, are also gone
For part 3, can you put the airline aerosvit?
Eastern Air Lines please! They deserve a place in the best deceased airlines.
Love your vid pt1 & pt2. I do mis Martinair (Dutch). So maybe a pt3, i do have any sugestions Martinair, Amsterdam Airlines, DutchBird.
Can you make part 3 of it pls? You can mention about jet airways, king fisher and Indian airlines as well.
Was very sad when Virgin America
Flew them 5 times between 2013-2016 and were very good planes, clean cabin, nice crew
Shame they bit the dust
I'm American and will say, without fail, that the two biggest losses were that of Virgin America and Continental. The experience on Virgin America was truly top notch and has been obliterated by Alaska. Continental was also another great carrier that was all but destroyed by it's merger with United (I'm also a former United Airlines flight attendant). Thanks so much for sharing...
Continental Airlines was the surviving carrier.

On March 28, 2013, Continental Airlines, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Continental”) and a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Continental Holdings, Inc. (“UAL”), and United Air Lines, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“United”) and a wholly-owned subsidiary of UAL, entered into an Agreement and Plan of Merger (the “Merger Agreement”) providing for the merger of United with *and into Continental* (the “Merger”). On March 31, 2013, United merged with and into Continental, with *Continental continuing as the surviving corporation of the Merger* and as a wholly-owned subsidiary of UAL. Upon the closing of the Merger on March 31, 2013, *Continental’s name was changed to* “United Airlines, Inc.” (the “Survivor”).
What music was u playing during the flybe section
For a part three, I'd Recommend PSA, and Aloha
Should you do a part 3 Sabena was a pretty large airline back in the day with a pretty interesting fleet
Cool Air Force 1
That bit at the very end 😂
Two colorful but older examples I remember are Hughes Airwest with all-yellow planes (ended 1980) and Trans Caribbean - blue with orange palm trees on tail (merged with American in 1971).
Finally VX is on the list!
for part 3:
Malév hungarian Airlines, Canadian,Air Tran, Tam, Lan, Olympic, Adam Air, Spanair, Aloha Airlines.
PLEASE add Malév Hungarian Airlines
Can't forget Hooters airlines;)
And Sabena
Fine Air, Muse Air, SkyTrain, Air Florida, China Southwest, CAAC Airlines, Vladivostok Air, Trans Canadian Airways, Piedmont Airlines, Cascade Airways, Air Illinois, Tajik Air, Pacific Southwest Airways, and more.
hi there!! I Also have an aviation RUclips channel, I am sure that you will like it so check it out now and subscribe!!
As far as I know, TAM is still in business
Part 3 please!
There’ll be a few more airlines to add to the list by the end of the month. 😢
Thank you for this. However is there a way you could showcase the downfall and collapse of Texas International Airlines ?? would like to learn more about it but haven’t seen anyone post a video over it
If you do a part 3 I would like to see Aviateca, our bigger airline and it’s gone, hi from Guatemala
Kingfisher has an interesting story that I think you should investigate for a part 3.
I like to see a part three
I fly on northwest airlines and I miss them so much
I flew with monarch on 2016 on the a320 in pretty sure to larnaca from Leeds
I remember northwest back then in Vancouver
I wish monarch and Thomas cook were still here
I wish Pan Am and Ansett came back 🥲
Braniff technically flew the Concorde from 1979 to 1980. Dallas to Washington DC subsonic with Braniff crews under an agreement with British Airways and Air France. They then flew on to London or Paris supersonic with BA or Air France crews. They had temporary Braniff registration numbers that they would remove after the subsonic flights. It was a huge failure. The average flight had only 15 passengers.
I notice Dan Air hasn't featured yet! My aunt who worked for British Aerospace had to fly sometimes for work trips and hated flying with them. I asked my Mum why and she said "she thinks they're held together with elastic bands".
Please on your Part3 video, talk about VARIG, the most famous south american airline founded in 1927 and unfortunately went bankrupt in 2006. That company was the proud of Brazil and still leaves a gap in our hearts.
How about Ozark Airlines which was a great Midwest USA carrier utilizing primarily DC9 aircraft into the early 1980's until they purchased by TWA (which of course is on the obituary list here too).
Reno Air is a small one but interesting one to do
I totally forgot about Braniff. Landing at Washington DC we slid off the runway. After looking found my Braniff Flyers Membership card. Filed next to Northwest, TWA , Republic and Midwest
No Court Line? Best paint schemes ever!
Loved Monarch.
Please do a part 3
JAT , Sabena , and my first transatlantic flights on Laker Airways
Eastern Air Lines based out of Atlanta. Was first airline I ever flew
Can you include Air Jamaica in part 3?
For part 3 please add Jet airways and king fisher airlines.
Please do pt 3
Eastern airways anyone?
I’ve been on Flybe Thomas cook and monarch all these are gone :(
maybe you shouldn't do a aviation traveling.
I don’t
You mentioned the 747-8s purchased by the USAF. They are going to be modified and used as the replacements for the VC-25s last I heard.
They'll become VC-25B models. Unsure if the VC-25A (as the 747-200 varients are known) will continue in any real capacity or if they'll be converted to another USAF 747 varients... Or just sent to Davis-Monthan
@@HawkeyeFLA I heard they'd serve until the VC-25B became avalible then be retired from active service. The same plan will go for the E-4 as soon as the military gets a few more 747-8s like they said they were looking to replace the E-4B with
Part 3 recommendation: Varig, Vasp, TAM, LAB
Flybe is back
Not bad. Braniff International continued as Braniff Airlines. They merged with Florida Express and moved their hub to Orlando Florida (MCO), where they went bankrupt in 1989. I still have my I.D..
Part three plz
Also plz add Dragonair based on Hong Kong
Can u do Spanair, Eastern Air Lines, Air Tran and Aigle Azur in next vid??
Eastern Airlines. Was a legacy carrier in the US based in Miami that had hubs in JFK, Miami (primary), Atlanta, Charlotte, and Kansas City. Labor disputes brought it down in 1991. Had they solved their labor issues, the airline would’ve still been flying today. American since then has a majority of the gates there.
Braniff ceased in 1982? I remember flying it way after 1982 from sfo to mci. Could it be in 1992?
The main Braniff ceased operations in 1982 but some of their subsidiaries continued to operate so that could’ve been what you flown on?
I just flew on an ex continental plane literally like an hour ago! UA1603
What about Varig Vasp , UTA and BWIA?
I saw a monach airline in Manchester and it was taking off
Part 3: Aloha Airlines, Pacific Southwest Airlines, Air Florida, New York Air, Air Cal
