    Omg. When he labeled x1 I was like “oh so that’s what x1 is, and then x2”. Why is it just now clicking. I’ve never seen it written that way on the number line. It’s like showing or writing what you’re “given”. Excellent visual!❤

    So, f(x1+h) - f(x1) simply means that you are returning the value of the function at the position of x1+h minus the value at the position of x1. Returning the values gives you their Y, and you simply use (finalvelocity - initialvelocity) in a sense to get the distance between both Y positions. Then you divide that by the distance between x1 and x1+h, or simply h, and you have your answer.
    Never done calculus before; however, my experience in programming seems to be helping me conceptualize the process.
