As he says, I'm sick of this crap. It's crap. He said every word that black people feel and I thank him from the bottom of my heart as a 23 year old black male
Paul Mooney WENT THE FUCK IN. YESSS!!!! These are my experiences everyday, from New York to Paris to Seoul to Rio De Janeiro, and it never gets any better even as we get more "progressive." If you are a black person in this world, you just have to find your own inner peace and contentment because the world will always try to deny your humanity.
He is correct about whites and racism but my opinion on him has totally changed. All these black dudes love talking about race, yet are hypocrites themselves.
What Mr Mooney has stated Is so simple, and profound. He explained it to you from wisdom And experience. I can't believe that some people are analyzing and scrutinizing Mr Mooney's statements and are trying to find negativity. There is an old southern saying We are like crabs in a bucket Think about it!!!!
Racism isn't simply about oppression - . Racism is the belief that a particular race is superior to another.....which applies equally to blacks as it does to whites. Also, the analogy he used was fucking stupid.
***** You can believe that you are superior to someone without ever acting on that belief. As I said before, racism is not solely about oppression. It is dangerous and counter-productive for Mooney to continually comment on white people collectively. We are all individuals, and as such will approach the issue of race uniquely. To insinuate that all white people are out to control and oppress black people in modern society is a truly ludicrous statement on his part.
***** If you don't what care I think, why did you write an essay in response to my post? You use one the most extreme examples of racism in .human history as an illustration of your opinion, as if that was the focus of my comment - clearly it wasn't. Why should I feel guilty about the "historical actions" of white people? They weren't my decisions. I refuse to be castigated for the heinous ideology of my ancestors, shame on you for such a comment. As I said before, it is dangerous to talk about individuals as a collective; once you see skin color before you see a person with their own thoughts and ideas on race, then you have effectively lost the right to talk objectively about the issue. Racism is by it's very definition a belief system - you are not born racist, you are moulded into one through 1) ignorance 2) hatred and 3) your peers, which creates a feeling / mentality of superiority. As such, it stands to reason that any racial group has the ability to be racist - it's just some examples of racism are more insidious than others.
***** Where exactly am I disagreeing with history? Does that make my assertion that racism in modern America effects all racial groups any less valid? I didn't realize it was a contest - one act of racism is one too many.
***** We really seem to be going around in circles here. Obviously you can't disprove that which has already happened. As I say, who here is arguing with history? The point I'm making is that you can't take the events of 200 years ago or even 60 years ago and use that as a definitive example that all white people in (a by comparison greatly enlightened) 21st Century America are racist - most of his examples are simply outdated. Again, Mooney's biggest and most dangerous mistake is in talking about whites as a collective, when the subject is almost by definition an individual one. Some whites are racists...some aren't. Some blacks are racist...sure enough, some aren't. As regards Dylan Roof - Using one lunatic as an example of an entire race is definately stupid. "Its not what you believe its what you DO with that belief." I effectively made that argument when I stated that "you can believe that you are superior to someone without ever acting on that belief."

You think THEY don't know that what he speaks of is truth? Of course they know. They attended the schools Mooney was locked out of. They even threw a few cocktail bombs.
there is also a difference between a person or comedian that says racist things or a person that actually believes in racism, and that is when they think their race is above or better than another, and a comedian can pretty much say what they want as long as there is no real hate or dehumanization..and paul mooney is right here because black comedians can share and speak about certain things that others might only know by word or sight, not having lived through it,
Sometimes the truth is hard to swallow. He's speaking the truth.
Yep, a lot of people commenting can't handle the truth.

The term isn't "underrated". He's well liked among his people. He's so controversial, 'against the grain', & truthful that it hurts the 'powers in charge'. They're afraid of his intelligence, his ability and skill. Comedians like this they try and keep the lid on. Look at his age, he's the same age of a lot of t.v., movie execs. You think THEY don't know that what he speaks of is truth? Of course they know. They attended the schools Mooney was locked out of. They even threw a few cocktail bombs.
@92680BOYD
what do you mean by "reversed roles"? I'd like you to explain that 2 me...
Add this to the list. Try having a degree, and try get job. DEGREE MEANS NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!
there is also a difference between a person or comedian that says racist things or a person that actually believes in racism, and that is when they think their race is above or better than another, and a comedian can pretty much say what they want as long as there is no real hate or dehumanization..and paul mooney is right here because black comedians can share and speak about certain things that others might only know by word or sight, not having lived through it,
