You are a very lucky man and I expect that you know that. Have enjoyed and been informed by your vlog and wish you the best of good fortune. So many Farangs in Thailand are jaded and cynical and mean-spirited; its refreshing to come across a person who isn't.
its always good policy to change tyres on a second hand car , tyres may have been kerbed (side walked) or hit something in the road , change the oil and fuel filter just for peace of mind ' keep up the good work
Chuck and Paige, stumbled on this 3 years ago video, I’ve only been watching all your video from post coronavirus time. This gives me a more up to date idea about life in Thailand. I get to your other personal videos. Tks for info.
Those logs that were used to build that house are huge red wood , along with the wide plank steps going up stairs. Awesome house for sure, very beautiful. Also , it’s a good thing I’m not driving lol , I’d be all over the road and be lost driving on the left hand side of the road. Enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing with us.
What a great ride, Chuck & Paige! Thanks for shooting the process & then some. Such valuable info you have here for everyone outside wanting to reside in Thailand. EXCELLENT vlog....absolutely EXCELLENT!!
Even though this is an old video, it's great to see you show us the frustrations of buying a vehicle, negotiating a price and then dealing with antiquated banking laws.. thanks :)
Dear Chuck, I have see so many of your video and love them all and I have always wonder why I was so attracted to your way of hosting and all your life there in Thailand until I found out why by running in to this Video. I say you are from Houston. Chuck I am from Houston and I guess its just that Homeboy feeling I love your video. I had said when I get to Thailand I was going to look you up because I love the Spirit and Character of you and your wife and your life there in Thailand you share with so many of us. You make your audience feel so welcome at home with you there in Thailand. Best of Life ,Love and Happiness to you and your wife there in Thailand and one day I hope to visit to say hello and thank you for such wonderful Videos that I have really enjoyed.
Chuck, we could have thrown a helluva party at that gorgeous home ! OMG , how beautiful ! Love your new Toyota , been buying only Toyotas for the past 17 years. Great video. Trying to catch up on your videos, haven't been a subscriber long. You, and I my friend will share a few leo's when I come over! Peace jeff
That was a great introduction to buying a used vehicle! Excuse me if you answered it already, but what is the name of that shop that installed your electronic goodies? Thanks !
Hey Chuck, just watching the blog you getting your Toyota. I was waiting to mention how much Baht it was that model! One blogger was at Ford and low base was $ 598 Baht up to $ 780,000 Baht. A relative mentioned could be up to $1000,000 Baht for higher model. Adrian
How much is the SUV? how much were all the accessories. Also what's the cost of diesel per litre? What size of engine is it and where is the SUV built? Thanks
Congrats Chuck. Great looking vehicle. How does a diesel drive v. Gasoline? Did u get a automatic or manual? Is your father in law going to sell his Toyota still? Or are you going to have 2 vehicles?
Hey guys, we’ve been watching your videos for a while and now we’re looking at buying a new pick up truck. My question to you is how much can you bargain with the dealer before purchasing? We will pay cash but always looking for the best price. Thanks buddy
Good luck with your car. I've been watching your videos. Your doing a great job for someone that's thinking of moving to Thailand or just vacation here. When ever I come to Thailand I always rent a motorcycle so I can get around. The outdoor markets are great, going to see the Buddha, the temples. there's a lot to see. We just arrived in Bangkok on the way to Chiang mai.
Oh thank god you say no to PINK acc ! Good idea on the onboard cam .. A little suggestion on vids - 10- 20 mins length works well, slow the pan a bit too. Really like your topics - good practical info and your insight is valuable - thx buddy !
I stay in Rat Burana las year, and drove from Rat burana to India town, next to china town, then go to Pratuman to buy crap for my ex, then we go to watch a movie, go to Asatic, and i tell you some places driving is okay, most Thai drive like crazy, well i drive like a maniac too, lucky i drove in 3er world countries before so i'm used to the crazy traffic, but my challenge is Vietnam, that place won't even let you drive with International diver license. Hanoi is an INSANE PLACE TO DRIVE ! try crossing the raod. oh and the Traffic in BANGKOK! IS way too much~ extremely way to much, i stood in line to go parking in centralworld! in Rama I like 2 hours, to move like 1 mile! insane!
Hello can you give me the name of the place coz I want to buy second car in bankok.I am a Filipino living for almost ten years here in Thailand.Hope you can help me by giving the place.Thank you for the video its helpull to me.
Of course they have addition Insurance. You can get every kind of insurance here. All vehicles have basic insurance in there yearly registration purchase. People everywhere have a difficult time admitting who is at fault. For less than $100.usd I can prove it.
I wonder about the older wooden buildings - how do they keep the termites from chewing them to dust ? I know in the Philippines - they are h u n g r y little demons. Amazing wood work - I was there a few years ago... thx !
@@notime2bsad very true. I am always thinking ahead, or over thinking as I am sometimes reminded. But, I am quite likely to buy a used truck when we finally move over there.
RE driving back with no insurance the Fortuner is taxed so you have the basic Government insurance for personal injury which makes it legal for anybody 18 yrs old to infinity with a license to drive none of the western named driver crap you just have to buy comprehensive insurance on top which you pointed out is reasonable as you don't actually need it to be legal on the road
You can buy a condo. Not smart to do though. You can rent long term very negotiable and move when your neighbors suck, oryou need a change of atmosphere. We are always visitors here, so be wise about trying to anchor down and not be flexible. Life here can be very care free
chuck, fortuner is a great car i've had two in the philippines.1st one a gas the 2nd one a diesel. i really like the diesel cheaper to drive. what year was it and what was the cost in dollars?
I haven't went to get my Thai foreigner card yet. But I only said you can get one because I have seen the actual ID card myself from 1 American and 1 Uk, It looks like a thai ID card but a Different color. PINK color. With this card you wont need to carry a passport.
Don't put things in your wife's name... You'll lose everything. The number of successful long term relationships where the wife doesn't scam the husband is depressingly minuscule
Sorry Chuk , but Thai Familie like to spent Money from the Farangs ,lucky is your car , but the bike you pay is for mom and important is the car and the bike on your Name or on the Name from the Thai wife!! ,but that is ok ,the Problem is the Thais not like to go work mom and dad like to living with the families and the childrens pay and if the Girls mast go work on the red light district is no Problem important bring Money home !! or tell me for your mom you buy one bike to and im sure you understand me wat i mean .

They don't have any temporary registration from the dealer and be able to finish the registration somewhere closer to home?

Do they register cars older than 15 years in Thailand. Whats the cap on the age of cars in Bangkok.
Congratulations. Enjoy your new truck. Safe drive home.

Congrats on your new wheels.
Toyota trucks are outstanding vehicles. Congrads. I didn't see a hitch though. Can you pull a trailer in Thailand?
Yes but just driving and weaving around people is a difficult task enough....
That is an amazing redwood home.
Great Video.
sorry missed it how much was it ?
Hello can you give me the name of the place coz I want to buy second car in bankok.I am a Filipino living for almost ten years here in Thailand.Hope you can help me by giving the place.Thank you for the video its helpull to me.
It was bought from a broker, don't knoe the place. Just a person that does the leg work to get what you need.
I am still no wiser how you bought your SUV hehe. But that wooden house was amazing
do they have no-fault style car insurance? im trying to rationalize everyone getting the recording cams there.
Of course they have addition Insurance. You can get every kind of insurance here. All vehicles have basic insurance in there yearly registration purchase. People everywhere have a difficult time admitting who is at fault. For less than $100.usd I can prove it.
Toyota is the best brand name in the world, trust me.

Hey you guys! got a question for ya! Did you sell your Travel Trailer and Truck?
Yes we sold everything before we left the USA.
interesting vlog and nice car
My only concern with buying a used car in Thailand is the chances of water damage from flooding...
Guess that could be a concern anywhere in the world. There are always, What If's

That wood house....that's probably why Cambodia jungle got cleared out ...
yah soi mafia is right 55. that home is sick...old school
Love that teak house. Will they take a check?
You won't get an ID card they are only for Thai's but if you get a Thai driving license that classes as a ID card for foreigners..
I haven't went to get my Thai foreigner card yet. But I only said you can get one because I have seen the actual ID card myself from 1 American and 1 Uk, It looks like a thai ID card but a Different color. PINK color. With this card you wont need to carry a passport.
OMFG. HER HOUSE :O.
Do you have to pay insurance for your vehicle in Thailand?
It is mandatory.
Sauna, the sauna is outside..
Who would buy a sauna in Thailand, the country is literally in a sauna, so basically you're installing a sauna in a sauna, probably a loose screw
Good one! 👍
