Dr. Silkworth defines alcoholism -
"Of course an alcoholic ought to be freed from his physical craving
for liquor" - Big book XXVII
"We believe, and so suggested a few years ago, that the action of alcohol on these chronic alcoholics is a manifestation of an allergy; that the phenomenon of craving is limited to this class and never occurs in the average temperate drinker." - Big book XXVIII

It's too bad that traditional AA gave way to what we have now and a 95% recidivism rate, it's a simple process for complicated people. Yupp
