The procedure is slightly different for some car models I was working full time as a guard, but I always was a mechanically minded person, so I got a part time job as a mechanics assistant at the weekend where I picked up valuable knowledge about egr and ecu from my master mechanic nonshort courses will teach you all those skills plus how to remap aswell knowledge my friend takes time but if your intrested a little self study will help but a short course is not the answer you will have to put the work in no matter what learn the system plus some hands on skills hope this helps cassim.

What backup power to use in case car battery runs out of juice during writing? Can you just plug other car to the car you are working on with jump cables ? Any budget option ? Maybe just car battery with some adapter to lower voltage ? What will happen to car's ecu if laptop will freeze during reading or writing ?

It takes around 3 yrs to be a decent tuner,and experience with dyno is essential

Key on engine off.. always engine off. Theres ALOT more to tuning than what is shown in this video. Get some professional help.

another working car is best cheap option, before work fully charge battery in reading car

You should go to Alientech website and check the softwares car list. If is readable by Kess, it means is possible to do via OBD.

Very true voltage is critical that's why a lot of cars parked up for months with battery drained have ecu issues and won't start up again
You didn't see the car how do you know he didn't already have his power pack on that sprinter set up ready to go voltage stabilised don't be so naieve
