Wow! I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite take for this song. They are all so wonderful. Thank you so much for showcasing these juxtaposed takes. Judy never misses a beat. I once watched 30 minutes of outtakes from a number ultimately scrapped for Easter Parade, and she is spot-on every single time. I will never believe anyone could perform as meticulously as she did hopped up on pills and alcohol - the way so many seem to try to tarnish her image or overshadow the persona. I don't doubt the studio system medicated many of their employees to maximize product output and profit, but Judy is always in control of her talent. It absolutely astounds me that she didn't think of herself as beautiful. I've always thought her to be incredibly beautiful, both inside and out. She is indeed a rare talent, capable of making one laugh hysterically one moment and cry then next. Very few can do that.

    LOVED THIS!
Can you imagine exerting that much emotion *27* times in 2 days?? It must have been EXHAUSTING! And still, every performance of this song I’ve ever heard has been stunning. This woman was such a gift. 🧡💛💚💙💜

Remarkable voice like no other. That must of placed an extreme strained on her voice.

Has anyone been to the Judy Garland festival in MN? Was it fun?

One uninterrupted take too...but it always bothered me it's the "the man that," it should be "the man who got away."

You and I might be the only ones who noticed. Today professional writers and newscasters confuse "who" with "that."

@@akrenwinkle I thought I was the only one who noticed that. Thanks to my English teachers in Brooklyn.
