Thank you for the FABULOUS cab ride videos which we have only just discovered. Not only are they a view of the real world which we can enjoy during this "crisis hibernation" but they are a wonderful source of scenic ideas for my European HO Gauge model railway. But..... we are currently enjoy many evenings of "armchair travel".....glass of wine in hand, of course. Cheers from us in Poulton-le-Fylde near Blackpool, UK Merci....Vielen Dank....Dank U Wel.... THANK YOU
Astounding clarity! Your cabrides are the clearest I've seen so far and I've watched many from all over the world. I don't know what camera you use but stay with the one you have and keep these videos coming.
Thanks for the nice comment. Really? I feel that they don't look the same on youtube as they do raw - there's a noticeable quality loss. I'd like to record in 60p so they will be a bit smoother. The 4K videos are shot with a Fz1000 and the others an Rx100. Thanks for the encouragement and for watching.
Can you do the Voralpen express? Probably not, or maybe, idk. Its with SOB Süd Ost Bahn but its now the IR voralpen express. I live in Einsiedeln, Schwyz by the way so The trains i regularly use are the SOB flirt trains, but also normal double decker trains
The last part of the entry to Basel station was similar to the lower levels of Blackpool pleasure park in the UK. Where rides cross and re-cross at a multitude of levels. Was this run an enthusiasts special? It was a bit quick through the yard to take engine numbers, unless they video the passing locos for later analysis. Good show.
Query. The tall (2 to 3 x height of rail power equipment) electrical transmission towers, located on railway land, are they the result of the power transmitting 'crisis' of the late 2000's when the SBB system was suffering from not having enough power in the right place at the right time?
I'm not too sure. If you watch older videos though, you still see a many of the transmission lines. Less frequently used tracks still have them attached to the posts supporting the catenary wires, at a slightly higher height.
The masts in question are circular and taper towards the top. They appear in many videos, example down the north ramp of the Lotschberg from Blausee, Sagans to Bad Ragaz on the Chur line, and on this video from Mumpf into Pratteln, and the line from Bern to just before Thun. They seem to be a later edition because of the way the transmission lines are fed under the larger supply lines but over other services. They are very close to, even on railway property. Number and size of arms vary but usually carry 5 wires. Just interested in the solution to what may have been a problem. This may also be why GPS may be a problem when under multiple magnetic field sources.
I have watched a video from Swiss Railway Journeys of a trip Brig to Thun dated 1995 and they where just building the masts I mention above between the tunnel south of Spiez to Frutigen
Wieder eine sehr schöne Mitfahrt. Super. Herzliche Grüße aus Bad Vöslau in Niederösterreich!

This is not 4K, YOU ARE LYING 🤥
It is actually 4K. Some browsers just don't support it, so you won't see the option. Look it up on google.
