Russia will not have enough money to maintain its military economy if Saudi Arabia implements its plans to increase crude oil production. The Saudis are growing increasingly frustrated with the inability of other oil powers to coordinate supply cuts to push oil prices to around $100 per barrel from the current $70. The country is now poised to respond and export more oil to capture market share and profits, even as prices fall. This strategy could bring down oil prices and be bad news for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, as oil and gas is the largest source of revenue for the Russian budget.
