the only ganon that makes sense is the one in the wind waker, the rest just want to rule the world because evil which is a total let down given that wind waker was criticized for being too kid friendly yet they took the time to give their villain a good reason

so. does this mean that Zelda is her own mother time and time again? And if every hero is named Link and looks the same does that mean that even though Link is a placeholder model for people to project themselves on that Link himself is also reborn time and time again. And if so to both the previous things WHO THE FUCK IS ZELDA'S DAD AND WHO IS LINK'S MOM?
Treesicle linearity in a game that was lore focused isn't bad. and i didn't have any issues with the controllers either as many who disliked skyward sword argument.
To be fair, Link was the one that decided to go fuck around in Termina rather than stay in Hyrule, tapping that loli Zelda ass until he became the new King. Maybe that was the regret the Hero's Shade was talking about.
Sounds like a great idea for a new game! Get those two slackers on it. I hear they do great work with a little special grass commonly found south of your great home state of Texas in the real America.
The reason he left was to find Navi. Navi was special to him, and he got lost in the woods (and spirited away to Termina) while searching for her. It's likely that one of his regrets was never being able to find his precious fairy again. Add to that never seeing Zelda again, never getting recognition for most of his great deeds and struggles, never being able to pass down his knowledge of combat to a successor, not being able to save everyone he met in the events of Majora's mask, and that's a lot of regrets weighing heavily on him. It's no wonder he turned skeleghost. It's canon that Twilight link is a blood descendant of Ocarina link, so he apparently had a family with someone at some point. I imagine something happened so that he couldn't be with them, thus not being able to teach his kids how to fight. :(
It is stated by the Shade to Link during one of their one-on-one sword lessons: "Blah blah blah this technique is passed down in our bloodline yadda yadda". It's also mentioned in the hyrule historia if I recall correctly.
Finally got the game, am super happy tho. But I had to avoid all my favorite youtubers playing it for 5 days straight xD those days were hell to me lol
I like Ocarina of time, especially the part where you play the Song of Time on the Ocarina of Time to open the Door of Time in the Temple of Time to grab the Mastersword and travel through time in order to become the Hero of Time
This was an amazing video. I loved it so much :) I've always felt this connection to Zelda since OoT. Whenever I saw her I'd feel so happy. LoZ is truly a great franchise,
9_Volt I love skyward sword but my friend has the award of 'the person who loves skyward sword the most'. She bought skyward sword with the the special Wii remote, she has the hyrule historia, her room is 3/4 skyward sword drawings/printouts, and she finished the game 8 times and her love grows every time. She love Skyward sword too much. That's not the only LOZ game she plays though. She has all of the games.
Treesicle, love your videos, would like to see Corvo attano from the Dishonored series since the 2nd came out and filled a lot of gaps in the first one
Zelda is the queen and Link her loyal knight, it’s not that link can’t think for himself but his destiny as a knight of Hyrull is to serve the royal family and protest it. That’s why it’s not link’s legend he is simply a player in the legend as is Ganon. Ultimately everything that happens happens because of Zelda
2:14 Yeah, NO other game before Skyward Sword was linear at all! Yep, you could go anywhere you wanted in games like Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, The Minish Cap, the DS games, and generally every game between A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds - as long as you had the right items from a previous area or activated the right plot points, that is.
The Hero of Time is not necessarily the Hero's shade. The Hyrule Historia states it is an in-universe chronology of history as it is currently understood by the people of Hyrule. Many of the statements in the book are open to interpretation and can change with more understanding. I see the Hero's shade as what the Hero of Twilight might become if he lived with regret, not the literal ghost of the Hero of Time. I also theorize the Hero of the Wild might have something to do with the distorted time line and the Hero's shade.
This was actually incredibly mind blowing. Props to you guys for making me think about a character I usually complain about. Seriously. As a kid I was super upset when my favorite character ever, Tetra, turned into Zelda. FRIKEN ZELDA. Same with Sheik. Buuuuuut, I kinda have more respect for her now. GET HYPE FOR BREATH OF THE WILD!!!!
WHOA! I never noticed that Hahahaha when you go into the Twilight realm for the very first time "your Wolf Buddy" is there in the background watching you
You guys have no idea how upset i got when u guys didn't post a video yesterday, but the fact ur doing it on zelda its ok. You guys are enough to relieve my weekly stress, i love u guys(no homo) and this channel lol
Treesicle i didn't expect a response lol but ill have to make sure to make a twitter to follow u guys since fb is all i got. Also idk if u guys have caught my random comments on your other vids, but....revolver ocelot. Nonetheless I appreciate feedback so thank you
Treesicle you should do that video. The one about Link & Zelda. I'd love to know the story I knew about the bond between our green clad hero and our wise Princess.
you know, some people would argue Hylia's actions are less noble and more manipulative and at worst power hungry, taking a 'lesser' form in order to have access to 'Greater' powers.
So... once again you shocked me. I have an entirely new perspective on Zelda, which is great as I recently decided to play all the Legend of Zelda's again. Also, I'm totally going to play a Zelda game and name Link Zelda Man. That has to be a thing now.
Perhaps in the breath of the wild, everything is so ducked up, that Link, or something, somehow, there needs to be a really powerful goddess to fix all of the crap that's been broken.
I dunno why but I have this running through my head! It is an ending for a legend of Zelda game. Link defeats Gannon and walks away carrying Zelda in his arms but he collapses. He sustained injuries in battle. Before Zelda heals him, she asks for a kiss, Link runs his hand through Zelda's hair/puts his hand on her cheek and the camera pans to Gannon, still alive, he picks up a crossbow/matchlock and it has a scope on it, he is about to succumb to his injuries when he fires at Link. You head a splat sound and a thud and you hear Zelda crying and wailing as the Credits start to roll. Probably just a tad bit too sad for a Nintendo game but I think it would be a good ending for you know any Zelda game.
And yeah, I did mean Matchlock rifle when I said matchlock. If Zelda ever does have guns, I think it should be like this. The only options are a matchlock rifle or pistol. The gun is expensive to buy at a market but the Ammo is cheaper slightly than Crossbow or Bow ammo. An elite enemy class would also have it and one hit from the rifle would kill you and one hit would kill almost any enemy but it is a big unwieldy gun. The pistol would be two shots and it would be lighter and have even cheaper ammo and be even cheaper but have less range and do less damage. The reload would be too long to do mid combat so you most likely switch to either a sword or Bow or Crossbow after shooting it. The match would always stay lit and would only unlight after walking through water or Link would automatically unlight it if he entered a place like a market that might have gunpowder out in the open. It would basically be a OHK weapon that would would pull out and put back.
I think she also decided to live in her mortal form for another reason as well. Just like the deities of other mythologies assumed a mortal form to mate with humans, Zelda decided to do so to be close with link. The main reason would be to guide him, but a second reason is to be close to him. After all, her triforce is the piece made by Nayru, the goddes of love.
I think all three of them are always the reincarnation of some deity. and it's the everlasting battle for the world, somehow like Ragnarök. I mean Zelda is Hylia, Ganon is Demise, and Link is the reincarnation of the fierce deity.
It's explained in the manga, Hylia loved Link and because she was a Goddess and Link was a mortal, she chose to be a mortal to meet Link AND save the world. I know this is weird but check out the Zelda Skyward sword manga and you'll get what I'm saying
I want to know more about The Hero's Shade's story, maybe there could be a sequel to Majora's Mask? No, Link didn't die in that game, if that is supposed to be the same Link that is. Otherwise he would be a stalchild, not a full-grown stalfos, and we have never seen Link with that gear before! Either it's another incarnation of Link, Link lives beyond Majora's Mask and does who knows what, or it wasn't an incarnation at Link at all. Link can't die as a kid and become a fully grown skeleton later, those who become stalchildren remain so for the rest of their afterlife.
Awesome video! can you do Ganondorf next? I went hunting for Backstory and Origins but There's not enough out there! he's such a cool character! Wizards are rad!
Actually at the end of Skyward Sword pretty sure they basically send their loftwings away to be free and they begin their lives on ground to start the Kingdom Hyrule.
But did zelda beat ganondorf in almost all the games by herself? But did zelda go through temples and fight all the monsters? But did zelda fix all the problems in the towns (side quests)? I didnt think so either
With regards to that: "what would Link do?" comment: I suggest having him trek through the nine levels of Hell to ressurect Gannondarf's mind and soul as a means to weaken Gannon's soulless/mindless/heartless reincarnated zombie beast-form. Perhaps the Hyrule version of Hell is like an entire country of Puzzle-Platformer-Palaces where the walls are alive and trying to kill you. So Link is very busy and preoccupied doing something that only a bearer of The Triforce Of Courage could ever hope to do. Meanwhile, Zelda is questing topside to manipulate the various barriers in Hell, by using her royal bloodline and proving her worthinesd multiple times and avoiding/defeating the forces of evil as she travels to different parts of Hyrule and even different realms (maybe even the realm of the Twili) to interact with ancient technology used to effect parts of the landscape in the land of the dead [to help Link] (she would also have the obligatory sidequests and need to avoid zombie/demon/undead/soulless Gannon's minions as they invaded Hyrule and its territories).😑😎
I say "Nine levels of Hell" as metaphorical stand-in for something could either be a literal Hell With Nine Levels, or a Hell With Multiple Levels, or just: A Hell-like Place The Fits More Adequately Into The Hyrule Mythos ...ect...
perhaps this version of Gannon no longer needs the triforce, and takes strength away from those who feel fear. So Link and Zelda hope that by reviving Gannon's mind: Gannondwarf will become weaker, and perhaps even someone capable of being reasoned with...
If all his mindless strength came back to life, maybe all that is left of Gannon in the afterlife: is a weak shell of his former self. With no courage nor wisdom, his soul, now depowered, would be the weakest thing there. Maybe helping that gain strength: is the only way Link and Zelda can hope to save Hyrule
I actually forgot the part about Zelda using link in Skyward Sword. Kinda odd how I always rooted for them to be together, and now I'm kinda like "she used you brah, drop her like it's hot!"
Skyward Sword did so much damage to Zelda's character(s) and the mythology of The Legend of Zelda as a whole. If Hylia (the Goddess) (and Demise) never existed then TLoZ background would be so much better.
A very cool video, and this ties together some loose ends in timelines for me. :) Keep up the fun theories like this, Grant and team. :) God bless yours and you! :)
I have to disagree with the "blank slate" Factor with Link. He has the triforce of courage which was given to him by the gods. Of course Link doesn't know this. But, Link, through many generations in the timeline of LoZ is always chosen for a reason.
I'm looking forward to a Ganon: the story you never knew video.
Knight Web Ganondorf Has the most interesting backstory imo
the only ganon that makes sense is the one in the wind waker, the rest just want to rule the world because evil which is a total let down given that wind waker was criticized for being too kid friendly yet they took the time to give their villain a good reason
How about a Ganon theory next? That would be pretty cool.
Hey all you do is win, so I agree.
Stolen memes for Stolen dreams did you just steal his meme?
and are you trying to shield the meme?
maybe he is trying to wield the meme
Link is not stupid
now guys make sure you click on the zelda I mean link in the discription
Lol
Beats clicking the Groose in the description.
Gay

Treesicle ^~^
Treesicle Do theory about Tails
yeah. its called The Legend of Zelda due to a translation misstake.
if you could correct that...
yeah. that'd be great.
so. does this mean that Zelda is her own mother time and time again? And if every hero is named Link and looks the same does that mean that even though Link is a placeholder model for people to project themselves on that Link himself is also reborn time and time again. And if so to both the previous things
WHO THE FUCK IS ZELDA'S DAD AND WHO IS LINK'S MOM?
Treesicle did i see the name slurmp ? game grump
Well Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse Me princess
I have a new drinking game : Everytime Grant mentions that Link is blank, take a shot
yay i missed these kinds of stnk where you focus on a character more than a game in general, brings up alot of cool insight that gets overlooked alot
Yep this video was back to our roots! I think.
good i don't have to agree on all your opinions .
i find skyward sword fantastic.
It was good just had very linear gameplay IMO
Treesicle indeed. I didn't mine the linearity though.
Treesicle linearity in a game that was lore focused isn't bad.
and i didn't have any issues with the controllers either as many who disliked skyward sword argument.
FailedPoliSaint ya most people's argument for not liking it was just because of the controls :/
So does link and zelda ever get it on? i mean I know shes a god and all but..
BallerDog deviantart can answer that as can a fan fiction
alan simba And the Adventure of Link at the very end.
and the spirit tracks
um she's not a good you tard, did you pay attention to skyward sword at all. she gave up her godhood, soo yeah
Chris Hall She was reincarnated as the goddess in human form. Still a god
This was a beautiful script, and a joy to watch.
I'd love to know what you'd have to say about Ganon/dorf/Demise in a Story You Never Knew.
So Zelda is like the nintendo version of Jesus
ahahaha yeah
Yep, Zelda is jesus =, Link is a puppet.
YOU KNOW WHAT WE NEED.
AND A EPISODE ON MR. GAME AND WATCH.
"Can you guess who Hylia got reborn as? Its in the title!" 6:30
"Story"?
Ryan Sonic nah, she was reborn as “you”
To be fair, Link was the one that decided to go fuck around in Termina rather than stay in Hyrule, tapping that loli Zelda ass until he became the new King. Maybe that was the regret the Hero's Shade was talking about.

where in tp does it allude to link being more that a spiritual descendant? unless your using the fact that the shade appears as proof of bloodline?
It is stated by the Shade to Link during one of their one-on-one sword lessons: "Blah blah blah this technique is passed down in our bloodline yadda yadda". It's also mentioned in the hyrule historia if I recall correctly.
ShinyGoldBacon neat, Il have to replay tp I totally missed that
When Pokemon Sun and Moon is everywhere, but you fuckin live in Europe c: ....
ImSoSja Wrong Video.
ImSoSja
I'm so sorry for you
honestly it sounds like hell to not be able to play moon and sun
Finally got the game, am super happy tho. But I had to avoid all my favorite youtubers playing it for 5 days straight xD those days were hell to me lol
Awesome, love the way you analyse the lore and the story, going deep, to find a higher understanding, keep it up!
Am I the only one who gets teary eyed every time I hear Zelda's Lullaby?
I like Ocarina of time, especially the part where you play the Song of Time on the Ocarina of Time to open the Door of Time in the Temple of Time to grab the Mastersword and travel through time in order to become the Hero of Time
This was an amazing video. I loved it so much :) I've always felt this connection to Zelda since OoT. Whenever I saw her I'd feel so happy. LoZ is truly a great franchise,
I think my love for Zelda just grew
Say what you will about skyward sword, but you can't deny the music is fantastic!
XD
7:53 Is that you Mr. Plinkett?
"... and takes a nice long nap to avoid puberty" 😂😂🤣
We seriously needs a "Ganon: The story you never knew."
I've never actually played a Zelda game for more than 5 minutes, I'm hoping to change that with the zelder scrolls
+Bn Goodwin Zelder Scrolls I'm sorry what And by the way I know that's a play on words of Elder Scrolls
well change it asap you're missing out on so much
"Zelder Scrolls" Haha, I love that!
+Redblazer he is right though
Syn Meows In what regard
Are you a fir tree, or an oak tree?
What the hell? You guys should collab.
The Theorizer didn't expect to find you here.
I sexually identify as a cypress tree, thank you.
I thought it was a pine tree..
The Theorizer *insert sarcastic slow clap here*
Awesome video as always Grant, can't wait for the next story! Also would love a link and Zelda Vid, then a Ganadorf vid.
im the only one who liked skyward sword...
9_Volt its one of my favourites! i think the story and characters easily make up for the what the linearity takes away
9_Volt it's good I don't know why people hate linearity
+Rowan McMullan ...it's not like all of the 3D games haven't been linear either
You're not the only one who likes Skyward Sword...
Kind of like Dumbledore controlling Harry's life for his own good.
Link truly is a servant of the goddess
Love this video, makes me even happier I cosplayed Zelda this year. :')
This is a great video to drink coffee out of my gold-electroplated Legend of Zelda mug to.
I dunno I think of link as more than an empty shell. But that's just me
kyle wolman same
putting too much into a character is something nintendo fans like to do
the player is supposed to make of him whatever they want, hence the reason he doesn't have dialogue or personality and I think it's better that way.
I like the face you put on Zelda in the beginning of that old guy......improvement
Captain falcon the story you never knew!!!, like you agreeeeeeeee (also like so tressicle can see, lol that rhymed but it's only in my mind)
this video made me cry
Skyward Sword is one of my favorites.
It does not beg the question. It raises the question. Why does everyone insist on saying it begs the question without knowing what it means?
LOL Grant I love how much you try not to call link out for being such a tool! XD!!!
I tried REALLY hard. Still love the guy though.
Finally, Zelda gets some respect!
Treesicle, love your videos, would like to see Corvo attano from the Dishonored series since the 2nd came out and filled a lot of gaps in the first one
Thank you for this the intro with Zeldaman sneaking up on the horse made my day lol
Zelda is the queen and Link her loyal knight, it’s not that link can’t think for himself but his destiny as a knight of Hyrull is to serve the royal family and protest it. That’s why it’s not link’s legend he is simply a player in the legend as is Ganon. Ultimately everything that happens happens because of Zelda
aaand that's the story... I already knew...
Zelda has been my favorite character ever since I've played my first Zelda game as a kid. Now you made me love her even more! :) :D
Bless you Treesicle for being the only channel who doesn't talk about pokemon today. All your european fans thank you.
Oh my god! That intro was incredible! Perfect comedy Treesicle! Just perfect!
Hey treesicle when is the choosen undead the story you never knew? It's been a year already! Hope you didn't forget about it! Nice vid as always!
+Destiny Ninja123 ah yes. Soon! Possibly January/February. In b4 you said that last year.
Sweet! Can't wait!
But this is all basic information anyone would learn just from playing a few of the games
A video about Link and Zelda? I'm totally down for that!
Zelda's also super powerful and always throws one of the last punches or the critical crippling hit.
WHOA! I never noticed that Hahahaha when you go into the Twilight realm for the very first time "your Wolf Buddy" is there in the background watching you
Sir, what you do here is an art.
You guys have no idea how upset i got when u guys didn't post a video yesterday, but the fact ur doing it on zelda its ok. You guys are enough to relieve my weekly stress, i love u guys(no homo) and this channel lol
+Ulises Pallares sorry! Our power went out yesterday! We tried to tell people on twitter that it was coming a day late!
IT IS MY BIRTHDAY AND PLEASE DO A GOKU THE STORY YOU NEVER KNEW
Ruby Rose I love rwby.hi
this is by far one of my favorites
Love how he plays gerudo valley
you know, some people would argue Hylia's actions are less noble and more manipulative and at worst power hungry, taking a 'lesser' form in order to have access to 'Greater' powers.
So... once again you shocked me. I have an entirely new perspective on Zelda, which is great as I recently decided to play all the Legend of Zelda's again.
Also, I'm totally going to play a Zelda game and name Link Zelda Man. That has to be a thing now.
That "drunk voiceover" bit is probably the funniest thing I've ever seen on RUclips lololol
I actually kinda liked Skyward Swords story, it was just the gameplay that drove me insane
Perhaps in the breath of the wild, everything is so ducked up, that Link, or something, somehow, there needs to be a really powerful goddess to fix all of the crap that's been broken.
ugghhh I've been following treesicle for ever and they are awesome. these guys deserve more subscribers

Zachariah Salinas love? it's wisdom. besides that I agree
***** there's a ss manga?! Can you send me a link?
(no pun intended)
Did anyone notice that he used a clip from Game Grumps where Link's name was "Slurmp" xD 9:13
Is there a chance that you would do a story you never knew for "Afraid of Monsters", "Cry of Fear" or even "Grey"?
I want to know more about The Hero's Shade's story, maybe there could be a sequel to Majora's Mask?
No, Link didn't die in that game, if that is supposed to be the same Link that is. Otherwise he would be a stalchild, not a full-grown stalfos, and we have never seen Link with that gear before! Awesome video! can you do Ganondorf next? I went hunting for Backstory and Origins but There's not enough out there! he's such a cool character! Wizards are rad!
SuperShinyScolipede he is not wizard
abraham pacheco It's just a cute nickname because of his smash moves dude
Ganon USED to be more wizardly, now he's kind of a warlord type.
who wins the sun and moon giveaway?
The winners were announced on twitter. twitter.com/iseffective/status/800152390548811776
3:30
4 animals give you 3 arrows. how is this possible?
Please do pokey/porky the story you never new
Actually at the end of Skyward Sword pretty sure they basically send their loftwings away to be free and they begin their lives on ground to start the Kingdom Hyrule.
That conclusion was astounding!
my favorite episode so far!
but its not a story i never knew :D i feel i always knew this in my heart since i was a little kid playin ocarina of time
Never thought of the "Why" to be honest, so it was less "the story I never knew" and more like "the bullet point I never knew".
Nice video though!
But did zelda beat ganondorf in almost all the games by herself? But did zelda go through temples and fight all the monsters? But did zelda fix all the problems in the towns (side quests)? I didnt think so either
6:26 to 6:32
Hylia eventually gets born can you guess who she gets reborn as? hint it's in the title
my answer: Skyward Sword
With regards to that: "what would Link do?" comment: I suggest having him trek through the nine levels of Hell to ressurect Gannondarf's mind and soul as a means to weaken Gannon's soulless/mindless/heartless reincarnated zombie beast-form. Perhaps the Hyrule version of Hell is like an entire country of Puzzle-Platformer-Palaces where the walls are alive and trying to kill you.
So Zelda is now acting like Link, but is still also acting like Zelda, because Link is also acting like Link, but is stuck in a nightmarish Hellscape
perhaps this version of Gannon no longer needs the triforce, and takes strength away from those who feel fear.
This was a perfect segment.
The whole franchise is just so dope.
I always loved Zelda as a character, can u do a Story you never knew on Riku and Kairy from Kingdom Hearts
Can you do a story you never new about Corvo from dishonored?
I actually forgot the part about Zelda using link in Skyward Sword. Kinda odd how I always rooted for them to be together, and now I'm kinda like "she used you brah, drop her like it's hot!"
6:28 can you guess who she's reborn as?
Me - Batman?!
6:33 Congrats! Zelda.
Me - Dammit...
day after day I come to love zelda more and more, she is the greatest princess ever I love every thing about her.
Skyward Sword did so much damage to Zelda's character(s) and the mythology of The Legend of Zelda as a whole. If Hylia (the Goddess) (and Demise) never existed then TLoZ background would be so much better.
im having a bad mental health day and this intro is making it better thank u pine Popsicle boys
Can you just do nothing but Zelda videos please? Not only is it my favorite series of games, I also love your Zelda videos. :D
Ha! That intro was hilarious.
I have a question-who is more powerful hylia or the 3 golden goddesses?
Always down for anything Zelda related!
Fun fact I’m pretty sure a lot of fans know: Robin Williams was such a big fans of these games, he named his own daughter Zelda
