This vid has popped up randomly in my feed and it taught me more about sound design, routing and QOL shortcuts than the last couple of hours of vids I've watched, and all that in a witty fashion
6:38 If you sync the phases just right, you can layer stuff in the low end for good results! Turn off phase randomisation on synths and sync the phases of different oscilators. For aucoustic instruments, use audio prints and find the takes that sync. I rarely do it, but the way the phase boosts and cancelations in the low end produce a new timbre has made for some happy accidents! In serum, you can then resample it to save that timbre as a waveform for one oscilator.
i also like the callout on do what you want or stuff like that, its like he knows there are no rules to making music and just FIND out what works for u yk
hey i just wanted to say ive been listening to your music for like 5-6 years now, and started producing around the same time. i really really appreciate these videos. the way you break things down and explain them jive really well with me. more than most other youtube production tutorials. stay healthy and blessed bro
This video is a hidden gem , exactly what i needed to free up my low end and make it less muddy and making my sounds more dynamic. Thanks man you earned my sub and thumbs up!
what a beautiful tutorial. thank you for making this. I've always added foley to drums to give them unique texture, but for some reason I just assumed that bass noises were supposed to entirely come from the synth - but clearly, giving them some texture and layers is just as important here. going to go make some basses ASAP
Thank you Tobias! Been looking for a good explanation on this! I remember the one lesson we took maybe a year ago and it has still helped me immensely, money has been really tight so I haven’t been able to book anymore, but I’m grateful for you thank you!
So sick! I recently started using multipass and its awesome that this popped up in my feed. Also, freakshow industry's plugins are insane. Looking forward to more videos in the future
Any chance we could get a tutorial on how to make these types of textures? 6:00 I know it’s probably a stupid simple thing but I always overthink it Love ur tutorials! One of the most helpful YT channels ever :)
@@jdaileywht8814 Best way to do it is go to serum, have osc a do a sine wave, choose a noise in the noise osc, and then slap a distortion on full drive with the tube setting. Then play around with different noise settings, eqs and pitches!
Is it okay to skip adding sub-bass if it’s not necessary? And if I do add sub-bass, should I EQ the low frequencies of the main bass to make room for it?

Switching your plugin list to alphabetic can help with finding plugins by name in a pinch. Hope this helps!
Genuinely leveling up by watching this. Very under rated

whats the difference between master pitch and coarsepit of a wavetable
Master course pitch is on everything, course pitch of wavetable is just that one wavetable
