Leipzig: (in the Saxon dialect also Leibzsch) is an independent city and, with 619,879 inhabitants (31 December 2023, according to the State Statistical Office of the Free State of Saxony) or 628,718 (according to the population register on 31 December 2023)
Inhabitants, the most populous city in the Free State of Saxony .
In 2021, it ranked eighth in the list of major cities in Germany . For Central Germany, it is a historical center of business, trade and transport, administration, culture and education, and currently a center for the " creative scene " and an important trade fair and university city.
Leipzig is one of the six major centres in Saxony and, together with the city of Halle (Saale) in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, which is around 35 kilometres away, forms the Leipzig-Halle metropolitan area , in which around 1.2 million people live. With Halle and other cities in the states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia , Leipzig is part of the polycentric metropolitan region of Central Germany
I filmed this beautiful place on 20 July 2024. I begin today walking tour from Leipzig Central Station and went to the most famous tourist destinations in Leipzig city.
