i remember everyone being really on the fence about that record & straight awayt, i knew i loved it. it was different but undeniably Stuffies. i've recently got back into guitar & TWS is in there with Neds on my list of 'learn to play' jus wish Belfast was on the ID30T tour 😔
Ah Miles, gotta love ya, 'I don't think happiness is conducive to me writing good lyrics'. I loved 'Construction For The Modern Idiot' myself and boy do I love a good whinge and moan. I haven't quite reached Victor Meldrew levels yet, but workin on it 🤣 🤣. I was a moody goth back in the 80s and loved songs such as 'Wish Them All Dead'. I created a miserable f***** playlist and remember blaring out plenty of Smiths tracks too. I particularly loved singing 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now' into my hairbrush (my mic). I do love a good angry/miserable/sad song that you can spit the lyrics out to. It's so much fun. That sad I do love a bellyaching good 'ole laugh too 🤣🤣, but I'm hearing ya when lyrically & musically songs can be amazing when written by an artist not in a good place in their life.
Yeah - I'd go and see you play it live, but I have to say, after Elvis it was a bit of a let down for me as a 20 y/old loser from Bewdley. The songs didn't have the same sense of wit or humour or sarcasm I'd hoped would carry over.
The Wonder Stuff. One of the best bands I have ever heard, bar none!
Peter
I'm loving the back story on these songs I've loved for years. You seem so normal too.

Got to just love that Album 🙂👍
Having been subjected to child abuse, I love "I Wish Them All Dead". It actually gave me a voice and helped me cope.
I love that music can help with coping x

Miles if you aint happy with the lyrics could you not reuse the tune with a different set of lyrics and call it something else on the next album
