really great, I can imagine so much potential for those features, another amazing device!

I still don't understand it. I could play poly by assigning each of the 4 tracks to the same MIDI channel or split my keyboard to play seperate tones. I'd much rather have a Pulsar or Lyra with proper MIDI integration.

@@g3cdif you trigger all 4 tracks of the digitakt from the same MIDI channel, they will trigger in unison only (same note all voices, no chords or melodies possible).
If you use keyboard splits, you cannot use normal chord voicings, and it will be very uncomfortable to play, especially with 8 voices.
It is essentially converting a standard MIDI controller into a simple MPE controller. Of course you could get an MPE controller instead and gain additional features (such as multitimbral pitch bend and aftertouch), but they are also typically very expensive and very small (limited octave range).
This device with a large/full-size MIDI keyboard makes for a very affordable and comfortable to play multitimbral controller, that you can also use to link multiple synthesisers together.
      Do you understand it now?

I cannot understand what is being explained in this mode.

I struggled a bit at first, but at least the second part with the digitakt (3:20 ish) seems to make some sense to me. Basically, after each key in the chord is input, it uses the next MIDI channel setup in the combiner. Since all the channels are just mapped to different tracks in the digitakt, as you input each note, it triggers a different sample.
Now imagine it mapped into different synth MIDI channels instead of Digitakt tracks. So if you're playing a C major chord (C E G), you could have your JX-08 play C, your SH-01 play E, and your DX7 play G; all from your MIDI controller.
It really expands the possibilities of cheap single-track sequencers like the keystep. I'm sure there are more applications for it as well.
