'Through The Lens' is a web series presented by ADORAMA.
TTL looks at the evolving aesthetic of photography as seen through this generation's creator class.
HOLIDAY SPECIAL: Brandon Woelfel is a 22 year old photographer based in New York. His style is mainly composed of nighttime portraits partnered with whimsical lights and flares. He started his photography journey after being inspired by other portrait photographers on the Instagram platform. Now with a following of over 500k on the app, Brandon regularly shoots for various brands like Urban Outfitters, Aéropostale & Tory Sport.

Now that's what i think photography should be about. I started shooting because i wanted to explore my creative side, but then money mixed with my creativity and killed it. I'm gonna get my creativity back. My next couple of shots for next year will be absolutely free.

I absolutely loved this style of photography
It’s incredible how young he is and what he has already achieved,I know he is a massive inspiration to many younger portrait photographers and quite rightly so. The modern day creative certainly seems to have much more humility than the older generation, Bruce Gilden and humility aren’t words you often see in the same sentence. Another fantastic video from this series.
I've been following Brandon for a while now and I honestly believe that he's an awesome photographer. I am very inspired by his work. When I look at his photographs I just stop and start staring those photographs because they're simply so amazing and they tell a story behind it. I can feel the real emotion throught those photographs and that's what's it's called 'real photography' and that I can't stop looking. I think it's great that he uses props which are so common that nobody has ever thought of using it like the way brandon does. It's so nice to see that he's doing what drives him crazy and can do it for the rest of his life without geting bored.
I love Brandon so much his photography is what i mainly would love to shoot like as well as some really cool nature shots but fairy lights, prisms, water reflections, neon signs, and city lights are my absolute favorite!

This dude is incredible. I mean using prisms and other props for photography is nothing new nor groundbreaking, but this dude just reinvented and revived the genre. Though I think it'll get old really fast as insane numbers of instagramers doing the same thing now. Just like with crystal balls - at first it was 'wow what a great shot'. But now as every single insta tog did it - it's like 'oh fuck off with this shit again'. Still... you can recreate what others did, but you can't take the eye of original photographer to see what he/she sees.

I just started to learn the art of photography and how to edit, but I remember about one of my neighbors, I was just a kid back then(15+years) he was creating the same effects with Christmas tree lights and a prism, but... was no Instagram or Facebook, etc... 15-16 years ago. So he becomes a wedding photographer, great man!!!

Amazing shots. There are a lot of great photographers this age. The problem I have is too much post processing. Give all these photographers film cameras then showcase the best they can offer.
