In the past there has been a lot of excellent interfaith collaboration between Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists, with spiritual masters in each tradition contributing to systems found in the other religions as well. Another excellent book is called "Chinese Gleams of Sufi Light" by Sachiko Murata, who details the interfaith works between Muslims and Daoists and Confucians. The dimension of energy is explored in various Sufi schools, especially the Naqshbandis. The concept of lataif are analogous to the concept of chakras in the Yogic system. The radicals and extremists in the Muslim community do not represent Islam just like the radicals and extremists in the Hindu community, even if it is the right-wing BJP, is not representative of the Hindu religion.
The magic of music is that it has the power to bring us into an emotional state. It is like a language with no boundaries that every living thing can feel its vibration and understand. It allows us to experience beauty on a higher level than words can define. It can be so heavenly and magical because it was channeled from the deepest dimensions of the heart and soul, the source from where love begins. I won't normally listen to to Pervez because it's not my thing but with Mei-Lan, he makes a great song, a work of art. Not one piece should be changed.
When we wish we could espress ourselves such as these two gifted musicians, but doesnt have the voices to do so... Through the resonance and heart-opening we feel and experience in those very moments, we are in a way co-expressing aspects of ourselves with it and within it (a mirror effect). And through those alignments, we recieve a transmission that at some point, will surely manifest itself in us, and then come to expression through us, in a way that will be most befitting to us. It doesnt have to, happen or come to expression in a certain specifik way, and as long as we have our heart with us in it, then it will come to expression and be transmitted through us, in a way that will shine of pure intention, because it will come from an authentic self, and will come from a place of love. And then others will wish they could express themselves as us. And our actions will thereby be reflected/mirrored in others, and it will spread like rings in the water. Such is the way of the heart. It is often said that you go through a process of four steps when learning something. It is: Knowledge, Ability, Mastery and Creativity. (But for some there is also a fifth step). Knowledge - First, you learn the craft/the artform. Ability - Second, you become familiar with/good at it. Mastery - Third, you achieve mastery. Creativity - Fourth, you unfold your inner creativity. The fifth step, is a state where you become an instrument (a vessel) to the craft/artform. You set your ego aside. It is as though, that you as an individual no longer exist, but instead have become one with a greater whole, a collective field of consciousness. Reaching the fifth step, doesnt have to happen in an linear fashion. It can be reached spontaneously by anyone and instantly.

And there are also the ones that just make me crumble to my knees with love and gratitude for all things .. I sent some of your work to a friend of mine that's had problems sleeping for the past ten years. The first night he played it all night long and he slept through the entire night so peacefully that he felt like he was 20 years old when he awoke the next morning.. he listens to you every night now and during work as well..
