    Mys spoke honestly. See, what the rest of these regions don't understand is that NY HIP HOP OR RAP IS MORE THAN JUST MUSIC. THIS IS AN ART FORM THAT WE STARTED, PERFECTED, AND ARE OR ALWAYS WILL BE THE BEST AT. No matter what. Its not just about money and fame. At least its not supposed to be. The rest of these regions dont understand what you're saying when you down talk New York in hip hop. Its not just music. Its alot deeper. And we take it seriously. It may seem like its not a big deal to yall but thats bcuz this is not what yall do. The South didnt create hiphop neither did the West. NY did that. They see this as income and notoriety and thats ok these days but its more than that to NY. Trinidad James may be the reason the South gets no passes in NY when the attention fully shifts back to us. Cuz he said it and nobody from down there checked him for it so I guess they all share that sentiment and just wont say so.

You think South dudes could come up here and get money if NY says they can't? With what army? Respect is respect so real individuals are good wherever they are. But weak ass dudes like Trinidad James can be finished up here for bumpin his gums like he bout some shit he really aint. Regardless of what you people think, Hip Hop is a part of NY culture. That means a part of our lifestyle. There are people who take that to heart. Whether you think that is ignorant is irrelevant. Everyone is saying he spoke the truth. Well truth of the matter is, there are people here that are willing to approach him for saying "if you wanna do something, we can do it." Hopefully, they understand he didn't mean any disrespect and they don't beat him senseless or kill him.

  • @prettyugly
    @prettyugly 5 лет назад +1

    New York is the only place that cares about all of this bs about who is on top. When they were on top throughout the 80's, the west and south didn't trip. They just made their own music. When the west had it in the early 90's, New York through jabs at them. The south didn't. In the mid 90s, they called and still call it the "east coast/NY resurgence" like they feel entitled to the #1 spot. When the west coast started making noise again during the late 90s, early 2000s, they didn't call it the "west coast resurgence", they just made music. The problem is New York kept it New York only, with NJ and Phillie as little brothers, and ignored the hip hop from other coasts. What those bigger coasts did was work together and build relationships and connections with each other rather than wait on the acceptance of NY, which is now still serving them in their dominance now.

      That's a black conscious community saying "Beloved" and "King". The conscious community was saying that in Harlem before he was and if you google "House of Konsciousness" and type in "Lux" with it, you'll see a couple of interviews he has. Just sayin... You notice Lux versus Cal he went into "You just a lost nigga" and going on about Cal's father being unconscious. See the correlation?

    Aye my nigga which one of u new York niggas actively relevant in the industry besides Hov? An Shoutout to the legends u gave us but other than tht, stop crying cuz your side of the map ain't competing in this music industry like the South and if u really wnna keep it OG the WestCoast abt to take back over.

      It's funny that you say that … I'm not from New York … But I swear when New York was running shit … Wasn't every other coast like the South or West was crying talking about songs not on radio and all that … Now that people feel New York fell back … Gave out the blueprint … And now its New York keep quiet ….
      So did New York go out and diss all the rest of the coast ? Did Biggie say WestCoast ain't hot or not relevant ? Nope … but that's what happens when its on the other side I guess … I'm just saying .. just odd

    • @peoples3257
      @peoples3257 10 лет назад

      I didn't look at it with the past in mind. I looked at it in terms of current relevance and productivity, 2 things new York doesn't have. Nothings wrng with stirring up competition lng as nobody die behind it.

      K. Peeps Well the past still matters because its the blueprint to the whole culture as a whole. Everything else is just a branch, I rememeber when UGK (OG'S) didnt have a Huge platform to voice their music back in the day & people like HOV, 50 cent & other NY artists put them on songs like Big Pimpin' To help them get their sound across but I see that when niggas get on They get gassed up, they get ignorant minded & try to get all cocky. Thats the problem , but all you have to do is worry about one crazy ass bitch that's always runnin around . Karma.

    • @peoples3257
      @peoples3257 10 лет назад

      I feel u bro. But as far as relevance and productivity goes new York is nothing. Everyone knws this. This isn't debatable. There's no relevant talent tht can keep hip hop alive in the coming years frm new York. I'm frm the south. We never beefed in the coast to coast shit we always made music. The place who gave us hip hop can't compete (for now).

    As a rapper and producer, I realize that producers have a much bigger impact than rappers. You can't make a great song or dance song without a great beat. Its about the production. There are no big or hot producers in New York. And there are no great rappers or lyricists in the South but there are great or hot producers. And that is why the South "runs" New York.

    Most people commenting here cannot relate or have any understanding of a street dude's perspective. These dudes came home from long ass prison bids and are trying to do something constructive with themselves. They're 2 of the few people that are in the industry but are still certified and respected in the streets. You don't just turn that shit off. It has nothing to do with hits or record sales. You do not need a hit to make money in music anymore. Most of the really talented artists in NY are making decent living on a independent and underground level as well as have other ways of getting money. And y'all obviously not listening to everything Mysonne and Maino was saying. Its not just what James said, its how he said it. Fuck the fact that he can't rap for shit. Trinidad James could have never done that shit in the 90's. He woulda never made it out that club. That's the era Maino and Mysonne came from. Shit, James couldn't have done that shit in certain parts of BK or any other city today!
