As you may know, Ten just recently was a dance mentor and judge on a Chinese dance competition show Great Dance Crew for several months in China, which is where "Birthday" and a short version of this dance was first performed more than 6 months ago. And yes, this dance was, at least in part, choreographed by him. Ten is often the one that creates or modifies the most memorable and dynamic parts of NCT/WayV's dances that he is a part of. Most choreographers say they present Ten with choreography and then he changes it and makes it even better. He is a very skilled choreographer as well, which, as I think you know, he has shown off in several self-choreographed performances on NCT's RUclips channels and as a member of SuperM, etc. (Which I think explains a little of his skill level.) If you check out his 'Birthday' dance practice behind the scenes video, his behind the scenes of his MV shoot and the behind the scenes of recording the song, you can see just how involved he was with this whole project. Ten actually competed in B-boy competitions when he was younger, so, as you can see, he incorporated a lot of B-boy moves in this choreography. You can hear him talk about it in his behind the scenes videos and in interviews he has done for this project. And he also has a background in gymnastics. Ten is actually known for being one of the most flexible male idols in the Kpop industry, and there are even compilation videos showing Ten flexing his flexibility and WinWin and Ten competing to see who is more flexible, etc. (WinWin has trained in traditional Chinese dance since he was young and is super flexible as well.) As you may have realized, all of Ten's solo songs -- "Dream in a Dream," "New Heroes," "Paint Me Naked" and "Birthday" -- are in English because Ten is fluent in English. (At this point, it would be more surprising if it wasn't in English. ;D) He grew up attending an international school in Thailand run by British educators, so he spoke English in school. He is native Thai, however, he is fluent in 4 languages -- Thai, English, Korean and Mandarin, and he is currently learning Japanese. If you remember, he first debuted as an original member of NCT-U in the "7th Sense" as a main dancer and a rapper, but by virtue of the fact that he is an SM artist, it shouldn't be a surprise that he is also an outstanding vocalist. LOL. That's just what SM artists are known for. That's why SM is the vocal powerhouse of the industry because everyone under SM has superior singing abilities. Ten is the NCT member with the most solo projects because, as you know, he is one of SM's and the industry's top dancers and he is an amazing singer and performer, so SM likes to showcase all his impressive skills. Ten is one of the most talented and skilled artists in Kpop. And yet, not enough people pay attention to him.
I think the video of that practice (the performance one) had a whole different vibe and i actually got more impressed with that choreo maybe cause u get better Ten's movements bc he alone most of the time. Wish people would react more to that one...
Thanks for the reaction - it's an amazing song! :) They just released a choreo behind and he does collaborate with the choreographers as he always does. He also said in an interview that he had ideas for the choreo from the start - that he wanted it to be really artistic, focusing more on story & imagery.

Yes he had some creative control on choreo and recording. That’s Ten’s signature move. Everything you said is exactly what I thought. Crown 👑 Prince Ten is my #1 K-pop dancer, strong core, precision, control, flexibility, fluidity (b-boy, gymnastics, ballet, freestyle etc.) Ten said that this is his first time doing RnB, he said it’s his love for us, called it Deep Ten and hopes we like it. Ten works hard to achieve perfection. There is another dance practice he did with two other guys. I believe it had to do with the dance crew in China. It had more precision minus the end when the guys turned the mats Ten had a slight balance issue. Other than that Ten is the purrrfect cats 🐈⬛ meow.
