There's some really good engineering on that mower. I have several acres of rough ground and the suspension is just what I need. I hate "sealed for life". Life is never as long as a lubeable bearing. Nice review!👍
A great mower no doubt. Love how thorough your description is of this video - with cost and maintenance warnings! Good job. This model is PRICED between $12-15k. The comparable Ferris machine is about $13k.
So as an employee at Briggs the stihl are basically recolored Ferris mowers they do have a few differences mostly in QOL mechanically they are just about identical
Thanks for the great review. I have narrowed it down to either the Stihl 560 series or 760 series. Seems to me the big differences are zt-3400 vs zt-4400, 5.25 inch aluminum spindles vs 7.9 inch cast iron spindles, 23 vs 24 inch tire, 10 gauge steel with 3/8” reinforcement plates vs 10 gauge steel with 10 gauge doubler in spindle areas and 1/2” reinforcement plates, and front suspension travel of 2.05” vs 2.68”. I have about 5-6 acres to mow and would only be mowing my yard. Wondering if I could get by with the 560 series? Or do you think these differences are big enough to justify the extra cost of the 760 series?
@Jake-fh1yw IMHO, only the Kawasaki engine. I do not know if they offer the efi Kawi in the 760. I have carb Kawi's in everything I have and they rock.
@@avenheavner108 I went to my local Ace Hardware and was looking at them. He asked me if I wanted to demo the unit. I said yes. You could call around and ask if they have demo units. My ace only had 2 stihl demo units. This one and the 152 I did a review on.
@@WorkshopAddict thank you so much for the quick response! I’ll send a email out to my local Ace! And the toro model you demoed how did you go about demoing that? Did you just contact the local toro dealer?
@avenheavner108 my ace has toro and stihl. The other ace by me had cub cadet and gravley. When they know tou are looking at buying, they will ask questions and offer you demos. Get to know them if you can! My guy is the owner of the store and he has been great.
@@WorkshopAddict that sounds like you had a great experience with them! I will definitely reach out and go to my local ace to see which brands of mowers they have available! Thank you for all the help!
I have 3 Deere z960s and I use them for commercial jobs. I like them. I was looking for something more comfortable for at home. Change things up. I didnt.
My z955m has been the most reliable mower. I run a ferris Z3x with older 72 deck. I believe the 7 iron deck is the best in the industry. @WorkshopAddict
If you ever decide to buy one of these with your own money, I don't recommend it. You might as well go with ferris, the original manufacturer because it looks like they have a better seat on thr same model equivalent. If you have a dealer close by
Unfortunately, Stihl products are so overpriced that it’s not worth purchasing. You can get the same equipment or better from a different manufacturer for less money. 🤦🏻♂️

Awesome walk through. I don’t even have a yard.

I would do the 760

grease fittings is a big plus in my book

Welcome to the Ferris mower
Not a secret
@@rontopping7811Ferris made that mower
Agree on the deck step pad. Ergonomically incorrect placement.
A piece of no slip tape fixed it
Why do you not like the John Deere in the background?

I like it bro
How much did you pay for it
I said right in the beginning that it was a demo from Ace Hardware. I used it for 3 days for the review.
Total description of my 1987 Ferris is1500. 21hp Kaw,48”.
It has lasted great, as i do my own maint. i am a Mexhanic/Tech……soooooo.
I found the price and it says $17,199.99. 11:50 Woah three blades!?
Ferris makes them, your paying for orange paint. Been running ferris for 20 years.
GO Stihl
You mean Ferris. 😉
@@H0kieJoeactually Briggs & Stratton
Why not just buy a Ferris? Never understood that. Toro makes Xmark so why not just buy a toro?

I belive this is the equivalent model to the isx2200 which has a full suspension seat.
Briggs makes ferris and stihl.
@@michaelbychkov80302200 costs 12kish, orange paint is expensive i guess
same as ferris mowers!
Overlap your pass by like 1/4 inch & you’ll mulch it down to almost nothing
One of the best decisions I ever made was paying somebody else to cut my grass
I would love to but at $175 a week, I can't afford it.
In the long run - it’s cheaper if you do it.
nice electric mower.
need to check out yakta mowers, 50x times better than this box store mower!
Is this cat is still name but it's a ferris totally Ferris that is a disgrace of Ferris

Made by ferris. Orange paint big yawns
Ferris & Stihl are made by Briggs and Stratton.
