🌎 MY TRAVEL/FOOD BLOG: davidsbeenhere...
With another day in Abu Dhabi ahead of me, my friend Ruzaina and I set off to have more Indian food and to visit a local mosque! Join us as I eat Indian dhaba food and go on a mosque tour with Minority Taste in Abu Dhabi, UAE!
We started our day at the Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque, the most important Islamic site in the UAE. It’s also one of the most respected and most beautiful Islamic sites in the world!
👕 DAVID’S BEEN HERE MERCH: teespring.com/...
The mosque is a beautiful white color. Our first stop was the courtyard, which is 17,400 square meters and can fit 31,000 worshippers.
There’s a lot of intricate marble, which comes from different Islamic cultures. The mosque was built in different architectural styles.
The courtyard’s floor is the largest marble mosaic artwork in the world! The mosque was built to convey a message of peace and tolerance.
There are also 82 domes and over 1,000 columns! This mosque was spectacular! I’d never been to one this beautiful. There are so many details on the columns, including gold-plated palm fronds and painted marble mosaics of flowers.
As we headed to the main prayer hall, we saw more gorgeous mosaics of flowers. The ceilings are at least 100 feet high and there is calligraphy from the Koran inscribed on the inside of the dome!
The main prayer room has a single continuous hand-knitted carpet-one of the largest in the world! There are so many intricate details in it!
There’s also a 24-karat gold plated chandelier, which is the largest in the world! On the walls are the 99 names of Allah.
We left the mosque and headed through the mall, and eventually caught a taxi. It takes 90 minutes to drive from Abu Dhabi to Dubai, and the restaurant we’d be going to is at the midway point.
We arrived at Ghantoot Royal Restaurant, the only dhaba along the road between two cities. It’s a simple diner-like dhaba.
They have a massive menu containing sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads, rice dishes, shawarmas, mixed grilled dishes, and more!
We ordered mutton masala, kingfish machboos, raita, saman, salad, karak (masala chai), and juices. I got a papaya juice while Ruzaina had watermelon juice.
Ruzaina poured some saman and raita on top of the kingfish machboos. The fried kingfish was super fresh, and the rice was very light. The raita made it very creamy. It was like a milder, less aromatic biryani, but still very flavorful.
Adding the mutton masala to the machboos rice was unreal. The gravy was delicious! Next, we had some Afghan roti with toor dal, which had a bit of spice to it and was really nice! The roti was made with a different flour, so it was lighter than usual.
I couldn’t get enough of the mutton, which was very tender and had a nice amount of fat on it. I loved it!
Everything was very fresh and tasty, and mixing the different gravies with the rice, mutton, and fish was unbelievable. Everyone there was a local. If it’s all locals, you know the food is good!
After eating, we caught a taxi back to Dubai. The city is less than 50 years old. It’s full of new high rises. The city itself is massive and there’s lots of traffic. They’re still building it up!

Hi. Hope you are well. Just wanted to say, that color looks nice on you.
@@kimtuth-davis338 she won't shag u
Food looks amazing. I'm in central Pa, there isn't selection of middle East food...or Indian food. Some times I make me own home made Afghan Roti. Watching you two eat so cute...he keeps saying um, he eating with his hand for first time, reminds me of myself slopping up table with rice bits fallen all over. The Mosque was so beautiful! The Chandelier was sight to see from a screen.
@@kimtuth-davis338 Thank you so much. ☺️💕 And hello back at you. 🙏🏽
Sincerely Apologize for the mistake of TOOR dhal and Channa Dhal. It's obviously Channa Dhal.😄🙈
You guys have no idea how hungry I was and the brain fried from the heat...😂😂😂 Again 1000 apologies 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
How do you manage to eat with such long nails ? Food looks yummy though ! I have been to shiekh Zayed mosque at night it amazing lighting and all
@ramesh c Thank you for understanding! 🙏🏽☺️💕💕
@@parnikakulkarni I was a flight attendant for Srilankan airlines for 8 years.. so I guess I got used to living life with long nails. 😄 Also yes... The mosque at night is sooo beautiful.. I would say like a movie. ☺️💕

Amazing beautiful place of worship..also many thanks for video i adore learning proper etiquette however i like food and adore how she mixes and blends so that you get ultimate flavor bursts in the mouth..mmm delicious🥰
David, Indian tourism ministry should hire you as their Official Brand Ambassador man!
Hired 👍👍
THEY ALREADY HAVE ROCKY AND MAYUR
He can be a great brand ambassador of your village.....😂😅😄🤣😂😅😄🤣
They wont. No one is visiting India under current conditions, anyone can be targeted there. This is why all these food bloggers are eating Indian food outside.
@@Deira854
Better that way........ not advisable to be in developing countries at the moment due to the COVID conditions.
Love this food episode in Abu Dhabi with Ruzaina!!
Amazing and beautiful Mosque. Your lunch waiter, quite rude, walking away and the lovely lady was still talking. I hope the food makes up for that. 🌳🌿🍃🌿🌳
Thanks David for exploring places beside indian food 🙏

The mosque was so beautiful. All that detail was so amazing.
*Delicious food as always you really make me hungry* LOTS OF LOVE AND SUPPORT FROM INDIA 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
When u don't give a F about the Salad 13:08.😂😂😂😂😂
I always eat my rice and meat or curry with my hands. I'm Bengali and unlike most Arab countries, we don't typically all eat from the same plate and not gonna lie but I would ask for a separate plate to eat my half.
David, such a huge fan of yours....please ensure that there is not a single grain of rice or food wasted...refer 18.13.....it's not for us but for the millions that slept empty stomach tonight.
Looks a very Kerala style eatery... Must be... UAE after all
Ohhh more Indian food awesome
Well done David, keep it going. I’m waiting for you to get to 1M subscribers… not far to go
I like when you make videos with this lady she's really cool I love all your videos blogs logs I don't know whatever they're called
The mosque was beautiful, such great architecture and work. Food was interesting. I don't think eating with hands should be that messy. I would have gotten into trouble if I was such a messy eater at home. :-)
Mouthwatering
Nice video... There are so many restaurants you can find on the way from Abudhabi to Dubai, most of them located inside the spacious gas stations.... In the video the host told this is only the eatery available which is not true. In UAE you can find all the authentic cuisines around the world. Just Google you can find more👍
Wow too good. The entire journey with a very cool host and super delicious food was thoroughly enjoyable 💯👍🙌
Nice, This is both Indian and Emirati resturant

First!
Lady is absolutely wrong about the Daal.
It's certainly not a Toor Daal.....
It's a Chana Daal.
Taxi fare is too much ! Otherwise everything is cool.

Don't like d way of eating..
Both Eating in same dish with their messy hands..
Why not get different plates
hahaha david is so indian now that even indians are getting offended by his eating style.
Yes..rightly said..
@@JulieStardoll
In India we don't eat in d same plate..
@@ujwalakhanolkar2756 i have with my college classmates during lunch breaks - we used to share the food with eachother. it's no big deal if you're used to it. also, it's pretty common in arab culture to eat from one big plate and since David is in UAE it's kinda apt i guess.
@@ujwalakhanolkar2756
No Julie, this guy doesn't know much about India.
Muslims of Indian Subcontinent eat like that.
Poor of India eat like that as well.
Bheels (indigenous people) of India eat like that.
That's already 400_500 million people of India eating like that, in one plate with hands.
So if you're wearing the towel on your head are you also Smelling stinky and musky as well?
Stop taking my name in your mind.
