Very interesting with the oversized lure setup. Ive definitely noticed the difference with bait setups as well. In real life it definitely makes a massive difference. I fish for bass, pike, walleye and even sunnies/crappie all summer every year, every day. I get really crazy with my setups IRL. Got my pb largy this year in MN, 22 inch, 5.60 lbs. Im a huge braid to flouro guy using the FG knot. Sometimes i can site fish in clear water and i can see how fish react to my presentations, smallmouth can be super picky. Their my favorite to fish for
@RoadWarrior88- No problem! Once fishing opener hits, I switch to Bass and pike hard for the remainder of the year. Still trying to get my first 10 lb northern lol, was my goal this year. Lost some big ones and caught some good ones. Maybe next year
So, you should use the smallest rod and line that will handle the fish to catch uniques and trophies? To be honest I have a fear of breaking them that I should try to get over. And is bait preferable to lures?
@@barbdavey3164 Yes basically try and use smallest gear that best matches what your going for when bait fishing. Always adjust to what works best for you. Also keep in mind better xp with smaller line just don't go so small that you cant get the fish in. Make sense? . On lures I was just showing that line doesn't seem to effect the bite as much.
