They write their own lyrics since 2013 because their company told them to tell their own stories, they are probably the only artist you would hear the different types of genres, 3 of them the rap line Suga RM and Jhope studied hip hop and rap from the western 90s rappers like Eminem, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Asap, two of them Rm and Suga were underground rappers before joining Bts and they have a lot experience, Jhope is the best dancer in the group and before joining Bts he was street dancer
The rappers play really important role and Bts are mostly famous with their pop songs which is more singing, but you have to hear the rappers because they really rap and also are one of the best rappers in Korea( there are rappers in the kpop groups too but not all write their lyrics and probably are forced to rap because they can't sing, they don't have experience in hip hop and rap, the other rappers are underground rappers which know what they are doing but in early ages of Bts' s careers RM and Suga got hate from these underground rappers)
BTS is the phenomenon of this generation. It was Elvis, then the Beatles, then Michael Jackson, and now it's BTS.

I just wanna say that, people hardly know this but BTS has a very strong Hip Hop element on their music, especially old school hip hop.
2 of the members came from underground rappers, and 1 from hip hop street dancer.
So yea.. they're really good. And they really were and still are the students of the game.

I am a 65-year-old BTS ARMY since 2020. I love watching someone who loves and understands music fall in love with these incredibly talented men. And here's the thing you'll learn if you continue to listen to and watch BTS: these seven artists perform EVERYTHING they do as though their lives depended on it!!!!! THat is why I love them. They never take it for granted. They are, in the true freaking sense of the word, AMAZING!!!!!! I would recommend the following BTS song: Black Swan. All seven members also have solo stuff and I would recommend the following the Suga/Augst D trilogy starting with Daechwita, the J Hope/J Cole collab "On The Street", Jimin's "Set Me Free, Part 2", and Jung Kook's "Standing Next To You."
