- This was a video made back in 2009 showing our Harvest Process during the November shipping season. Gives you a good overall view of what takes place to get our trees and other items to market once they have grown to maturity. From seed it is a 10-14 year process just to get to this point. A lot goes into getting trees to retail lots and stores to be bought and setup in your home! Each year after harvest we plant 1-2 seedlings for every tree harvested.

We are a first year Christmas tree farm and trying to learn as much as we can and share our journey on RUclips
Nice vid I like to find old trees after Christmas
This is really interesting to watch. I have a question: After the tree is cut, do the roots remain in the ground? Do they die away and rot or do they remain in the soil for a long long time?
Hey Martin, the roots do stay in the ground after being cut, but not for long. In the spring we use a stump grinder to turn the stump and roots into mulch. Then the field will be planted with a nutrient rich cover crop for a few season before we plant trees again.
Fascinating.
Does this company go back to Hank Mathieson?
This is why my tree is always so dried out. I'm cutting my own tree at a tree farm from now on
