I think your question pertains to the voice production skill especially on the higher notes...Indeed, there is a specific technique that must be learned and practiced in order to gain control over higher notes....It is good to go in a false voice on higher notes initially and then mix your abdominal voice for the volume...however, one must not stiffen or involve unnecessary muscles while going on to the higher notes...
