It is interesting to see who they still send their units to for review … perhaps to those who are kinder about the cons of the unit (i.e., mention them as things they’d like to see). To be $2000 and not even include wifi is embarrassing in 2024. As always, great review!

thanks for the review @desFit. i was hoping they would have taken the time to improve the frame compatibility specially with Aero frames/TT frames ( Disc break)... i have sold my old NEO 2 because the caliper was almost huggin the trainer. Also the rear derailleur needed a permanent adjustment (either you index it with the intention of riding on the trainer or indexing for outdoors).
i feel with the new handle added its gonna makes it even worse as far as i can see
My 2T didn't fit my 2022 Cervelo R5 road bike with disc brakes, as the brake housing bumped into the side of the trainer. I cannot find any reviewer talking about the M3 fitting disc-based road bikes. My local bike shop will let me bring my bike in next week, or whenever they get a unit for testing, then I'll let you guys know.
@tualatindjep i had my rim break scott plasma at the time, and it was just fine with the compatibility... a couple of years later i got my self a disc road bike and surprisingly, it didn't fit quite fine, so obviously i got rid of it and the kickr fits with all of my bikes just fine. Let us know how it rides and if it fits your bike and good luck with it
@@tualatindjepplease let us know! The 2T fix of pushing the rear triangle apart and extra 2.7 mm is just a non-starter for me. I _really_ hope rear calipers clear with the standard 142mm spacer. I too, have been looking for a 3M review that mentions caliper clearance. Maybe when dcrainmaker's deep dive video hits.

Seat and chain stay gap. I have a Ridley Noah Fast aero, and my XR just about fits. Just wondering is there a minimum gap?
Are movement plate make some noise when they are released ?

Just to make sure, personally I own the Tacx Neo 2T and the option of the trainer working unplugged (accept the downhill motion) is also available. Therefore it’s not really new.

no downhill assist and you cant upgrade the firmware if it is not plugged in. anything else is the same.
Officially out of my price range. I doubt someone would want to upgrade from the Neo 2T unless money is not an issue.
Even if $ is not an issue… why would you upgrade from a 2T with motion plates… no new features whatsoever when compared to 2T with motion plates (ok, maybe the handle )
The lockouts could be another potential reason so one would not have to remove the motion plates from the 2T

I like my Neo 2T but Zwift Virtual shifting with Wahoo is day and night difference! I am honestly considering buying a Wahoo just because of that.
same thing... i've got the original neo 1, still not enough changes... but i'm considering upgrading so I can setup an old frame I've got kicking around as my trainer only... toss a random crank on there, get the saddle setback/height and bar reach close to my road bike and let it fly... even considering keeping the old '90s suspension fork and just putting some hose over the stanctions to make it rigid lol. no more sweat and wear and tear to road bike.
sad thing is it wouldn't be difficult for garmin to upgrade the neo to do all this...

Side to side motion caused (probably) really annoying noises over the time on my Neo 2

or if the sounds are coming under the disc plate, probably it touches the magnets due to the axis misaligment, which needs the ReAxle adapter to the non-drive side. As i know, the Garmin already redesigned this side in the 3M.
How do you compare this in terms of comfort and accuracy to the Tacx Neo Plus Smart Bike? For the money, which would you rather have?
I’m in the camp for motion 👍 Accuracy likely goes to the 3M but it’s not like the NBP is inaccurate, more that the 3M is more accurate. TLDR: both will be fine in that department.
I own the NEO 2T and at the current price, $899 it makes not much sense getting the NEO 3M.
i know its a little different question. But is this one more quiet than lets say T2? and how do they compare to something like the smart bike. - noise is quite a factor when you live in a flat. so im thinking to swap my Neo Smart Bike to this one, as i have to many issues with the bike not lasting and horrible to move around.
Same noise level as Neo 2T. Smart bikes in general will be quieter due to using a different kind of drivetrain like a belt vs a chain. The KICKR Bike Shift and the Neo Bike/Neo Bike Plus are quiet bikes with the more expensive KICKR Bike being slightly louder due to its motor driven resistance system. So the side to side motion doesn't feel like falling to one side? I sit a little to the right and the neo felt like just leaning right. So i sent it back 😅

I have this problem with the 2T as well. Did you notice it on that? I had to 3D print shims to overcome it.

This new trainer seems pretty amazing imo. However, its just way too pricey. The max I would be willing to pay for it is $1500 CDN tax included, and even that would be a pretty big ask.
