  • This National Preparedness Month, our partnership with the Tennessee Department of Human Services to provide Emergency Go-Kits to deaf, blind, hard of hearing, and low vision communities is just one step in building a safer, more inclusive state.
Each kit included a Midland Weather Radio, pillow shaker and strobe light attachments for an enhanced alerting system, a family First Aid Kit, and items list in Braille. 300 kits were provided to 10 TDHS locations across the state, available for pick-up on a first-come, first-served basis. This initiative underscores our commitment to ensuring that all Tennesseans have the tools and resources necessary to stay safe and informed during emergencies and disasters.
Thank you to Bridges for Deaf and Hard of Hearing for hosting our Distribution Kickoff in Nashville this morning! We are grateful to our partners in helping us connect with our community members.
Distribution began on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. More information: www.tn.gov/tem...
