It's quite an interesting topic, for sure. I also think there are a lot of cliques, and that's also because there are a lot of "flavours" to booktube, and people tend to associate with those that are more similar. Thanks for sharing Jose, and btw, I love having you over my podcast, you always have such interesting ideas! 👀
@@liviajelliot thank you. Personally I don't care enough to be in or out of any particular group. I wouldn't want to be part of any group that would have me as a member
The Spanish cafe culture you describe sounds fascinating! Like an IRL version of the curated communities people strive to create nowadays with varying degrees of success. XD
Good discussion. Interesting points. For some reason the phrase "in our little corner of BookTube" sometimes makes me wonder what they are talking about. When people say it, they don't specify what they mean by it, and it can feel off-putting if you're not sure if they are excluding some people. Peace.
@@jeremyfee Hey! Long time no see! I don't think that the exclusion is intentional, I just wonder to what degree inclusion was the end goal to begin with.
I wish I could partake in more livestreams and find more cliques to interact with, just trying to find time to do it is the challenge. Also, book recommendation. Have you heard or read the Red Rising Saga? I gotta say, it's taken Faithful and the Fallen's spot for my number 1 favorite series. Blasphemous, I know, but it's just that good! Take Care!
It's natural to interact more with people you enjoy talking to. And like you, I keep an open invitation to anyone who wants to join in or suggest a discussion. Many do not. That being said, I recently learned some people will take advantage of your kindness and exploit your platform, no matter how small, to promote their agendas. So I will be more cautious from now on.

I'm shocked!

Ooooh, that sounds like a topic for an offline conversation!
