I graduated class of 1992. We had the lion inside. Next to the “senior bench” My best memory was tripping in front of the senior bench books flying all the way to the floor, garnishing a round of applause from the sitting seniors.
Yes, at one time there was two lions in front of the school.
I live with the Hazel and Virgle Whitney, I graduated in 1976 the bi-centennial year.
That is not the original Lion that used to be at the high school. I believe I heard that somehow it got ruined beyond repair, but I don't remember the details.
