I bought the GBA version of SMB3 when my little brother killed my NES (which thankfully now is working) and I played it through a couple of times. THe only difference other than graphics and sound that I noticed was the fact that you could save the game where ever you were, which was really helpful when I wanted to beat the game and didnt have hours to burn.
I played this when I was small and always wondering how the other worlds look like (we always used the whistles to get to world 8, and never pass 8-3 :) ). I've never known how world 5-7 look like. Thanks for fulfilling my wish.
I never had a problem once I learned this trick. Get a running start until the "P" is flashing, as if you were about to fly, and jump up and touch the square at the end of the level. I always did it this way and I got the stars all the time (though at the end of some levels you don't have as much space to gather speed). Hope this helps!
You do realize that you missed a chance to get a Frog Suit early in Toad's house/store, just before you fight the Fire-breathing Hammer Brothers to get the whistle. I used play the SNES version of this game years ago, and it sometimes varies which treasure chest it'll be in.
@insanityprod Thank you very much buddy! And you're welcome! Yeah, doing all this run took me some time. I was not perfect, but was able to show what I cna do, and it's the main thing for me. Glad that you could make your choice with your WII points! Have fun mate! :)
this is the best game ever made. playing this game is one of the best memories in my life. i remember my dad always had to help me and my brother finish the "ship" in the castle (or is it a ship?) in the end of every world. it was fucking hard with all that cannons shooting and stuff xD
Something about how you ran under the turtle in the quicksand level made me laugh. And I never knew about the 1-UP in that little bonus area in the pyramid... Thanks. :D BTW, you ever think it's kinda weird how this world is the only one with 'custom' levels? The pyramid and quicksand were neat little add-ons. There should've been more...
If I remember right, there should be a frog suit in the mushroom house by the 3 lake. lol, I remember the feeling when I first discovered that side area, I felt dumb for not discovering it sooner. xD
@HalDanGhor Loool 45 degrees?? Thats too technical :p but thanks for the tip. I know that running usually works but i didnt know how to do it walking Cheers :)
Getting Stars is pretty easy! You have to hit the pannel as soon as you can at 45 degrees approximately, as I do! Getting White Houses for an Anchor or a P-Wing, depending on the world can be done in getting all coins or alomst coins in specified stages. For example, in World 1-4, get all coins to get it! An Anchor is used to prevent a Ship to move if we die in trying to conquer it. ;)
How did you record the videos you posted? Also, thanks for posting these vids! I played this game when I was little, but I was horrible at it, so I didn't get far. Now I know what happens in this game. :)
@evilfangs lol yeah! I was trying to think back to how I knew how to do some of these things... the only thing I could think of was the movie 'The Wizard'! Watched that movie so many times!!
@HalDanGhor In this case congrats friend, you're truly awesome! I have some wiipoints resting in my account, and I was thinking: "what game should I buy?". You helped me in that decision, thank you sir.
@powereggsuper If you run at full speed while jumping directly towards the card box, you should get the star every time. Be sure to be at full speed BEFORE the card box appears though.
@TheEvanescencefreak1 I always use the same technique... Run or walk, just go non stop at the end of a stage and hit the Star Card at approx. 45 degrees. It's pretty easy to master. Just need some practice though... ;)
@FFCYAN No need to be at full speed. The important thing is to never stop walking/running then hit the Card Box from the side at approx. 45 degrees... ;)
nice, thank you for the reply. I watch msot of these videos, your really good at this game, better than I ever got. I always used the whistle to get past the ice world, I found it to hard. maybe I just sucked though :(
Everything will remain on the map as long as players are in the same world and don't use or take them. However, taking Spade Cards and Mushrooms will make them disappear, so we have to find more along the game.
@HalDanGhor dont worry, i get it. i was playing the game and i totally mastered it! but that is irrelivent because there are some levels where i waste all of them cuz i can't seem to stop dying :)
@MyPWNisBlocked I still own this game and many others....even still have the original box and instructions and the 8-Bit System that works great. That moment at 4:12 is something I NEVER knew. Man.....I'm going to have to go back and play that game again. Take a break there Mister Wii. It's time to go Old School for a bit.
new super mario bros. wii brought me to this video, because i thought of how good the old games are in comparison to the new ones. So right now I'm thinking of maybe downloading it from the wii shop. Ps: i hated the sun, this was the most difficult level for me as a kid xD
@GoodJobGuy It's pretty easy to always get stars. I always use the same technique. Run or don't run, but never stop going forward and hit the Block at approx. 45 degrees. It's pretty easy to master. ;)
When I play I don't need that many lives to beat the game I am truly the wizard and know all the secrets like you but do you know where the hidden music box in Sky World stage 1? because I do.
How did you go about making it give you 5 lives every time? Also, what is an anchor, and how do you trigger that little bonus white mushroom hut that gave you it in the last video? lol.
@amycallie123 Super Mario Bros 2 was pretty easy to me because I was able to adapt my to the game. Once you master using a controller, you can perform in any game. ;)
@uglypornstar Yeap! Always the same technique over and over. Run or don't run, but never stop to go forward at the end of a stage, and try to hit the Star Card at approx 45 degrees. It's not that hard to master. ;)
@blackcraft2007 It's not the number of times that really made the difference. Once a person is at ease in using a controller and knowing how to relax while playing, victory is at hand! ;)
Oh and that's not all... I forgot to mention this... but that TORNADO... if you run at full speed and jump at the right moment... you'll just TAKE OFF like a bullet thorugh the sky in a huge long jump. Of course you'll still have to watch out for the sun.
Technique. That's very easy to master. Just need a little practice! at the end of every stage, you must walk OR run, but don't stop or lose time, and do like i do, hit the Cube at approx. 45 degrees from the side. ;)
Easy task! Only do as I do, approximately always the same! Don't lose time trying to get the right timing! As soon as you finish a stage, run as fast as you can, lose no time, and try to hit the Block at approx. 45 degrees. You need a little practice to master it, but nothing very complicated about it! ;)
Those letters in the game are mixed up. That letter should have been for World 5. The previous one was for World 7. And the one for World 7 clearly states about the thief hiding the whistle in the darkness of of the THIRD WORLD.
I do some mistakes. I know a lot of the game, but not everything. Also, I practiced for every of the 26 videos, who were done separately. It gave me a good chance of looking better too! ;)
Super Mario ALL STARS for SNES is fun, but they never can compare to the originals, this made me wish I had NES even more. Ah well... BTW... You can knock the SUN out of the sky with a shell if you kick it at just the right time. Also... if any of you are thinking of playing the whole game (I've beaten it all every stage) World six is the longest.
@shortfuse6182 Because I always do the same thing. Run or don't run, but don't lose any second. As soon as you can hit the Cube, hit it at approx. 45 degrees. It's not that hard. ;)
In a normal game, I guess I'd get them all for fun, but for a more interesting run for RUclips viewers, I decided not to take them, except the very special ones. ;)
Oh no, not again ! This time Morton transformed another king into a spider ! It means all the kings of each world were transformed into a different animal by the Koopalings, it's right ?
Good videos to watch while I'm cleaning my room, even though I only get a glimpse of the tv every few seconds. Keeps me in a cheery mood :)
I love the drum and bass rhythm for the underworld!
The speed gauge is right above the points. You can hear a special sound when gauge is at max! :)
I played this when I was small and always wondering how the other worlds look like (we always used the whistles to get to world 8, and never pass 8-3 :) ). I've never known how world 5-7 look like. Thanks for fulfilling my wish.

Ahahaha... LOL @ 3:12 I do that all the time with the koopa shell so it makes that sound. Glad to know I'm not the only one!
You do realize that you missed a chance to get a Frog Suit early in Toad's house/store, just before you fight the Fire-breathing Hammer Brothers to get the whistle. I used play the SNES version of this game years ago, and it sometimes varies which treasure chest it'll be in.
I would love catching the wand in mid-air. I would always refer to it as my Air Jordan pose (lol).
this game scared the crap out of me back in the days when i was 5 years old :D
one of the best nes games ever
@insanityprod Thank you very much buddy! And you're welcome! Yeah, doing all this run took me some time. I was not perfect, but was able to show what I cna do, and it's the main thing for me. Glad that you could make your choice with your WII points! Have fun mate! :)
Dang man, I never knew half these secrets existed! This stuff is amazing!
super mario and donkey kong are the best of the best non-violent games of all time
this is the best game ever made. playing this game is one of the best memories in my life. i remember my dad always had to help me and my brother finish the "ship" in the castle (or is it a ship?) in the end of every world. it was fucking hard with all that cannons shooting and stuff xD

The desert levels have often been unique.
i think the game just started to give him the stars now because he is so damn good!!!
Getting Stars is pretty easy! You have to hit the pannel as soon as you can at 45 degrees approximately, as I do! 0:15 "Hey, raccoon! You haven't seen where that annoying plumber went, did you?" -straight from the SMB3 cartoon!
@powereggsuper If you run at full speed while jumping directly towards the card box, you should get the star every time. Be sure to be at full speed BEFORE the card box appears though.
Thanks for the Sun thing. However, I already knew it! ;) Yeah, world 6 is the longest world! It is funny too! :)
congratulations of your completion of world 2
@casonova197 Works the very same than when we run to a Star. Just don't stop and hit the Star Cube at approx. 45 degrees. ;)
I remember playing this on the old NES and the Princess called it Kuribo's Shoe (or something like that) and not Goomba's Shoe.
@HalDanGhor Awesome I will have to try that next time and see what happens. Thanks.
@TheEvanescencefreak1 I always use the same technique... Run or walk, just go non stop at the end of a stage and hit the Star Card at approx. 45 degrees. It's pretty easy to master. Just need some practice though... ;)
My pleasure! I always answered every decent question from the very beginning unless RUclips alerts didn't give me a notice. ;)
@FFCYAN No need to be at full speed. The important thing is to never stop walking/running then hit the Card Box from the side at approx. 45 degrees... ;)
nice, thank you for the reply. I watch msot of these videos, your really good at this game, better than I ever got. I always used the whistle to get past the ice world, I found it to hard. maybe I just sucked though :(
@jcmcdo10 Use your tail using the "B" button, or jump while running right or left while on a Star effect. ;)
Everything will remain on the map as long as players are in the same world and don't use or take them. However, taking Spade Cards and Mushrooms will make them disappear, so we have to find more along the game.
Yes, I totally agree. It was becoming interesting, and they stopped to add such "custom" levels. Anyway, this game is a great old game! ;)
hey man thanks alot! this has showed me ALOT ofother tricks i diddnt know befor. great job btw
I had some fun in there! :P
great video
great game
@HalDanGhor dont worry, i get it. i was playing the game and i totally mastered it! but that is irrelivent because there are some levels where i waste all of them cuz i can't seem to stop dying :)

I always HATED the sun level lol.Still good playing on your part :)
It's sad but for the longest time I didn't know about the frog suit and whistle behind the rock.
When you got a tail, run until the speed gauge is at max, then jump and press "A" repeatedly to go up for some time. ;)
new super mario bros. wii brought me to this video, because i thought of how good the old games are in comparison to the new ones. So right now I'm thinking of maybe downloading it from the wii shop. Ps: i hated the sun, this was the most difficult level for me as a kid xD

i love this game i have a question is this game on the 64
Thanks for answering so quickly! :)
When I play I don't need that many lives to beat the game I am truly the wizard and know all the secrets like you but do you know where the hidden music box in Sky World stage 1? because I do.
When you get at least a certain amount of coins if not all coins in a specific Stage, you will get a White House.
How did you go about making it give you 5 lives every time? Also, what is an anchor, and how do you trigger that little bonus white mushroom hut that gave you it in the last video? lol.
This level used to scare me for some reason. I would always use the P wing and fly straight through it.
Yeah, I used to do the same at first as well! This Sun was a dangerous one! :)
@JoeDan54DX Because that coin was a block with an item inside. ;)
that freaked me out the first time i saw them hammer brothers use fire power
dude, you so good, congratulations :)
awesome walkthrough!! i subed! :)
@amycallie123 Super Mario Bros 2 was pretty easy to me because I was able to adapt my to the game. Once you master using a controller, you can perform in any game. ;)
4:34 LOL, the king is a spider!
You dude... did you know you can destroy the sun.
As well as use that twister to take off with a ZOOM across the screen?
@insanityprod It's real play, but I practiced each part individually, using save states at the end of every part and that's all. ;)
What happens when you click on the spade card and on the mushroom as you go from tunnel to tunnel? I don't remember what happens. Thanks! :)
@zasdap No, it's regular NES. ;)
@uglypornstar Yeap! Always the same technique over and over. Run or don't run, but never stop to go forward at the end of a stage, and try to hit the Star Card at approx 45 degrees. It's not that hard to master. ;)
@LTangerine Exactly! :)
Yes it is. However, I don't remember in which Zelda they can be seen. ;)
Yeah! The best is to use a Turtle Shell to do so. It's even better to hold it with Mario and just touch the Sun with it. ;)
@blackcraft2007 It's not the number of times that really made the difference. Once a person is at ease in using a controller and knowing how to relax while playing, victory is at hand! ;)
I really cannot help you with this. I only played the Nes versions...
45 degrees from the side. ;)
Are this done with TAS or are you just awesome?
Chomp makes his debut!
Because I wanted to show the gameplay and doing those would have been too passive to me for the viewers. ;)
OMFG WHY DIDNT YOU GET THE FROG SUIT?!
How do you always get the star card? are you using a mod?
Okay! I started playing with JNes, but now, I use Fceu recording! ;)
I tried to send you a link to where to find it on the internet. However, since you put friend lock, I cannot send you messages...
I do some mistakes. I know a lot of the game, but not everything. Also, I practiced for every of the 26 videos, who were done separately. It gave me a good chance of looking better too! ;)
@amycallie123 I play it on emulator, so it's not a problem. ;)
How do you get stars all the time at the end?
give me a break, how do u manage to always get stars every time u end a level
You are awesome.
@shortfuse6182 Because I always do the same thing. Run or don't run, but don't lose any second. As soon as you can hit the Cube, hit it at approx. 45 degrees. It's not that hard. ;)
@dajdawg69 I just forgot about it. Anyways, I would not use any item in my inventory for this run... ;)
how the hell do you get a star every time at the end of the levels
@Halomasta10 Sure! ;)
I found it funny how the king was always back to his old self before I got back with the wand. Then I did all that work for nothin?!
Thanks to you! :)
Thank you very much m8! Yeah, the Sun is easy to kill indeed! ;)
In a normal game, I guess I'd get them all for fun, but for a more interesting run for RUclips viewers, I decided not to take them, except the very special ones. ;)
2:55 chain chomp's first appear?
LOL Of course I like it! I am not the kind of selfish and negative persons! I just wanna tell you to keep up the good work!!! ;)
which emulator do you use?
Oh no, not again ! This time Morton transformed another king into a spider ! It means all the kings of each world were transformed into a different animal by the Koopalings, it's right ?
