Hmm...the show was alright, though not particularly focused. The silhouettes, textures and the porportions of the garments got a bit repetitive. The couture looks were amazing, but again- were throw back remixes of what he had already created : (....the mens wear was ok, it did its job on delivering but nothing really special or unique. I would've supported Riccardo doing less looks but each look being more focused, precise and thought out.
Agree those steps made no impact to the clothes or came into the vision. What’s next climbing a fake grass hill for summer? Lost the beauty of the clothes and details.

This dress is so reminisce of late 20's or early 30's high fashion era, 8:20. It is a work of art. Imagine a Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Jean Harlow, Ginger Rogers, or Claudette Colbert wearing it! Only those ladies could pull out such dress.
OMG.....I saw 2 falls and 1 walking error. I know the models are professionals but, when, is it just ashamed the demands that are put on all models. I hope the falls and error are worth it. 2 set of stairs....REALLY!!!!!!!!

Ouch for that poor girl, I usually laugh, even at myself when I take a dive, but this one wasn't funny, and she landed her knees on the steps, hope she didn't get seriously hurt. As per the collection, if I separate the pieces, its fine, but put together is looks like some occult, ritualistic priestess/priest vibe. Its a bit too dark and I think that unless you are into any sort of priesthood, your main goal is not to shed the stratospheric amount of money they ask for their items in order to look like you are about to cut a goats throat. I feel that many huge fashion houses have made a wrong turn a bit over a decade ago and no longer feel an interest in designing clothing but they are interested in sending some sort of strange, usually very negative message about certain dark arts. If I'm going to drop my money, it will be to look good, not like that. Again, separated and removing the creepy ambiance, well, the pieces are nice, but combined you get a freak show vibe. Enough with the negative vibes and dark ritualistic stuff, are you people designers or priests?
I think we can all agree the stairs were the worst idea ever and ruined the atmosphere... they should have put wooden ramps instead; same effect but less trouble, and some of the dresses look impractical going up and down. The garments are gorgeous nonetheless
I used to like his design A LOT and would longingly await his show! And then 2 years ago it starts to drop, and becoming unimpressive and uninspiring. Seeing how he began recycling his stuff just gives me an awful feeling. I now feel like I'm not watching a GIVENCHY show, but it is "just like any other show". I'd rather he makes lesser clothes, shorter show, but to be more remarkable in each piece. These styles can be found in other more affordable brands, and he needs to produce something that reminds his fans why they are paying top dollars for his clothes.

I love Riccardo but this show just wasn't done right. Him moving the show from Paris to NYC made sense to me because he's been doing primarily street wear/urban clothing for like 3/4 years now? Then suddenly he returns to couture designs when we've been begging him for couture forever! This show should have been a high pace, fun show showcasing what's he's been doing. I'm also hating this current trend to mix women & men in shows especially when the designs are so contrasting.
Interesting "lingerie" look to clothes, a dreamy feel. The long ribbons bothered me, though. Not a fan of the makeup - with all that black and white going on, some color is needed on the face! Models looked washed out.

They used the same platforms as the video Goth Sailor Moon collection last season. I don't feel like they add anything and two models fell really badly. just get rid of them of make them bigger and more gradual.
